Always looking for a good cup of coffee and Room 205 provided just that. A very unassuming cafe, small, cozy and welcoming. I stopped in twice for a morning latte and each time I was not disappointed. It was rich, smooth and creamy. Each time the service was excellent . A cute little cafe, close to the subway for an enjoyable treat.

Adorable and well equipped to do some work or meet a friend I came in around 1pm on a Tuesday to escape the jackhammering going on below my apartment. Thankfully, there was plenty of seating and fast WiFi awaiting me at Room 205. The barista was sweet and I ordered one of their loose leaf turmeric teas and added steamed oat milk. They offer mugs if you're staying in the shop, which I love. They have a great little food selection including some sandwiches from court street grocers, pastries, oatmeal, bottled drinks etc. There's also plenty of outdoor seating and a bathroom. What more could you ask for? The ambiance was great. The WiFi worked very well for me to be able to do work and the music wasn't too loud. There acoustics were good so that no one talking really distracted me. One suggestion is to bring layers! It was very chilly inside when I was there. Lovely new coffee shop that you should support!

I was leaving an acupuncture appointment near 5th Ave and did a search for nearby coffee shops since I don't live around here. I am usually up on new shops, restaurants, etc. in my surrounding neighborhoods and I had no idea that this place existed. (It's easy to miss as it is on 8th Street which is not a major street, unlike 9th St (the next street over). It has a beautiful tin ceiling, 2 huge mirrors, a beautiful chrome coffee machine and 2 different types of antique hanging pendant lights, and exposed brick (of course). It's got the perfect mix of old and new which is the they typical "Brooklyn look" (and, quite frankly, beloved by one and all - or at least most). The one small downside is that the place is small and only has 8 indoor tables, though there are tables outside as well). The oat latte was great and they have sandwiches from Court St. Grocers (though alas, they were out of vegetarian sandwiches), Spindrift sparkling waters and some chip snacks. I would definitely come here again. I just have to remind myself that it's here!

Great neighborhood coffee shop by the train. They also sell Court Street Grocers sandwiches, pastries from Balthazar, muffins from Blue Sky Bakery - all the New York classics. The decor inside is especially nice as well. Oh, not to mention very good coffee!

This is my new favorite coffee spot in Brooklyn. The vanilla lattes are tasty, service is great, and the place has such a cute ambiance!

Grabbed a Large Cold Brew from Room 205 on Saturday morning. A trendy new coffee shop with excellent drinks and a lot of potential, especially if they can consistently deliver on the food idea. Quality: Stumbled upon Room 205 during a morning walk and have been back a few times. I have stuck with my standard order of Large Cold Brew with a bit of cream each time and have yet to be disappointed. It is a stronger coffee, which is something to keep in mind, but very tasty. They pour in the dairy products, but leave the sugar options out for you to add. They also advertise pastries from Balthazar and sandwiches from Court Street Grocers, two of the best at what they do. I have seen the pastry display full, but not consistently, however I have not seen sandwiches at all yet. I like the idea of brining in these heavy hitters, but need to see more consistency so I know I will be able to grab something to snack on. Quantity: The large size is pretty big and I appreciate that it is filled to the brim each time. Value: $4.50 for a Large Cold Brew. Ambiance: Room 205 is located in Gowanus, just off 4th Avenue. They have a small sidewalk sign close to the main thoroughfare, but it is a little hidden. There are several tables out front, which take advantage of the nearby trees for shade, and there is also a long bench with several tables inside. It is a cute shop and it can really open up to the outside with multiple windows and doors. It also has some unique design pieces and art. Definitely a place I could imagine sitting with a coffee and doing some work. Crowd: Hidden around a corner, not many folks seem to have found this spot yet. But with quality coffee at good prices they will soon. Service: I believe the owner has been behind the counter during each of my visits and he is friendly and helpful. Careful to ask exactly how you want your drink and excited to show off his new shop. Parking: Parking can be found along the residential street.

You pay $8 per person for three hours, which seems absolutely incredible. They have delicious bubble teas and some light bites. They have teas and coffees too. Super shout out to the woman working there today (12/29) because my little cousin is not an adventurous eater and she recommended the lychee boba and gave him a sample. He never tries things but did and really enjoyed it. I am so thankful for everyone's kindness who worked there. A cool atmosphere with lots of meetups and games going on. Huge positive that you can make a reservation. I can't wait to come back!

Walked in to this semi-coffee shop during late afternoon; Most of the pastries were basically sold…read moreout; clerk asked if I wanted the last of the cheese danish (I was hungry) sitting on display, I decided to purchase that last piece of pastry. The store was pretty emptied at the time, and clerk informed about pricing per hour for game play (board and card games). I decided to skip the games, since all I wanted was some food to-go. Got the pastry and a latte drink. The pastry was a bit off; cheese filling was too sour and the pastry just didn't taste that fresh. The matcha latte drink wasn't good neither; very small amount of Matcha flavor, but plenty of milk. Will probably come back for game play only

People have left some odd reviews of this place, including a one-star review for the restaurant…read moreapparently being highly politicized--a vibe I neither felt nor could visually identify within or without the establishment. I ordered a single burger and a Sudan spiced peanut butter latte, for ~$15! That's pretty inexpensive for New York City. I note this as some consider it overpriced. I suppose the food is fairly inexpensive, the lattes slightly higher than average. The "burger" comes wrapped in a homemade pita with diced cucumber, onion, and tomato, plus a few crispy, thick-cut fries and a yummy house sauce. It was a cool twist of the traditional burger and had a nice flavor. The sauce was like a slightly Mediterranean version of Big Mac sauce. The girl working as the barista and cashier was very nice and friendly. She had a nice presence and warm smile, made suggestions, and even gave a stranger free utensils when they popped on to ask. I think it's definitely worth checking out, and it's a good place for a cheap & simple meal that's still quirky and fun.

I have wanted to try this spot for some time, and wound up a bit disappointed with what I tried…read more They feature a tahini cold brew, which features two things I love dearly, but instead of a rich cold brew it was overly sweet and icy--more like a slushie. Perhaps I should have anticipated that, or my mistake in ordering. I also ordered a Moroccan egg salad sandwich which was substantive but surprisingly bland--sparse with the advertised capers and pickled red onions to give it more punch. I've always loved the look of the spot and the vibe--funky decor, outside and indoor facing counters to order, with some outdoor seating for people watching on Dekalb or heading nearby Ft. Greene Park. I see they are renovating and rebranding a bit and adding some burger component. While I didn't love it, I'd definitely give it another shot.
