They are expensive but the quality is good ,as well. We immediately were greeted every single time we went. We went multiple times and we were considering other stores too for multiple pieces of furniture. Ultimately, we chose room and board for 8 pieces against offering at multiple stores. This also included wasting our money with an independent designer. The staff at Room and Board listened to us and helped locate items we wanted to get to replace furniture that got destroyed in a move across the country. Was it hard to get someone to work with us, sometimes, yes, but that's happening everywhere and our expectations have changed with the times. It's unrealistic when you see employees running around with multiple customers to expect what we used to have in retail. There was one hiccup in multiple deliveries. I mentioned it in a follow-up store review and customer service immediately called to address the issue. They mentioned that the driver would be retrained because he did not follow protocol. Great, because we are now looking for more furniture and we aren't going any place but room and board. I would love to mention the designer but won't, she was a waste of money. We had to cut her off because she wasn't listening and at this point in my life, I know exactly what I like and all the staff I'm at room and board listen to me and my husband. read more

Awful experience in the cherry creek store. I will summarize as its long. I ordered 2 chairs and paid for Swivel. Waited three months. They delivered the wrong chairs. More emails, calls than the exchange. Another 3 months --the salesperson (not sure if there is a commission) was impossible to reach after calls and emails. Our order was simple...two chairs. We had to be home for 2 deliveries with large windows --they do narrow this down day before delivery but... The delivery guys were awesome and when I called customer service they finally helped me so 2 stars instead of 1. I have enjoyed R&B but we are done. read more

I've been purchasing from Room and Board since 1989 and have bought most of my furniture there because of the supurb quality. That quality has decreased. I will certainly buy nothing there again because the CEO refuses, out of fear, to speak out against Trump, even though he knows that the tariffs will hurt his customers. I cannot say enough great things about this company. We ordered a set of dining chairs. The chairs were beautiful, well made, top quality (all made in USA). I found them quite comfortable but the comfort didn't meet my husbands standards unfortunately. After having them for about a month (we had only sat in them maybe 5 times as we were traveling and out), I thought to reach out to see if they would accept a return since my husband didn't find them comfortable enough. They quickly responded back with a pick up day and time to retrieve the chairs. The delivery team and pickup team were extremely nice and professional - probably the most professional and downright nice delivery crew I've ever dealt with. Though we didn't keep the chairs, I will definitely order from Room & Board in the future as their customer service has proven to be top notch, and of course the quality of the furniture was very nice! read more

We visited this Denver Cherry Creek store twice seriously considering to buy 2 sofas. We asked multiple questions of whoever we could find in the store. It seemed like either they were short on sales staff, or they didn't take us seriously. It was a decision between 2 sofas at Room and Board or from another store. Room & Board has furnished more than half of my house! So yeah, I give them five stars. I love the fact that they're an American-based furniture company, so keeping it in the good ol' USA. Their offices are based in Minneapolis and a lot of their products ship from there. I also love the fact that they aren't ungodly expensive. It definitely costs more than IKEA but it's going to last a lot longer. And it looks like high quality furniture. Sales staff is very cool. I am not sure if they work on commission because I don't get that pushy vibe. Just nice people that know what they're talking about and process orders on a desktop or tablet in the store. Grant you Room and Board is expensive. Yet i've been shopping there for a long time. In fact I got my sleeper sofa almost 7 years ago!. My most recent experience put room and board up to the top of my list. . .and it wasn't even a new purchase. . . I had just remodeled the basement and wanted to put this nice sleeper sofa downstairs. I proceeded to partially disassemble and get it stuck on the staircase (true story) I should have called Room and Board from the beginning. They came out (for a trip charge) and took apart the couch, moved it downstairs, and reassembled it. It is like one of those fancy furniture disassemble businesses you hear about in new york! Several nearby shops wouldn't even lookup to greet us when we entered (which we will never return to; we needed an entire living room worth of furniture and HW Home & Arhaus wouldn't look up or quit talking with fellow employees enough to even say hello) Room & Board was different. Idk if the other stores were making judgement on me b/c I was only dressed in shorts and a t-shirt, but my partner had on a cute dress. They greeted us as we entered, gave us some fresh water on a hot day & invited us topside to see their awesome outdoor furnishings and reflection pool! Room and Board charges quality goods prices without the quality. I purchased a sofa in August of 2015. Delivered on time and looked good. Within a day my wife and I noticed that we were getting poked by and pulling out quills constantly. We thought that, even though the description stated that it was constructed with down proof ticking, it was a new couch and would work itself in . Fast forward 12 months and we still pluck about 2 birds worth of down out a month. It is now a standard disclaimer to our guests to expect to be poked by quills while sitting on our high dollar couch from Room and Board. We even place a cup nearby so they can dispose of the down they have to pick out to sit comfortably. We contacted customer service to ask for some credit so we could buy a NON-DOWN sofa but were told that the daily quill picking, for over a year, was not a defect and if we didn't like picking out the down, that was poking us, to remove the covers to exposed the "down proof" ticking covered in down and vacuum it daily to prevent getting poked. So even though a store may charge quality product prices it does not mean they sell quality products. Because if they do, they usually stand behind the products. Buyer beware. read more

We are on the hunt for a new bed (mattress + frame) and a dresser. This store has such good looking furniture its insane. The price points are high but everything is made in the USA. The king mattress in my opinion is extremely reasonable, literally 1/3 the cost of what we were looking at from Macy's. I also love the 120 day return policy. Very appealing. The dressers are super good looking - but I am weary of the quality at the price point on some. Not in terms of structure, solid wood I know it's all good, but the stain. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the ash/bark stain (it's like a grey/light brown color) but I'm not certain on pulling the trigger just yet because of some reviews I've read about scratching, fading etc. I will say we had nice service from a woman yesterday who helped us with pictures and opinion on two dressers. There is also a nice coffee bar in here - complimentary - which you can enjoy while you shop. Have yet to make a decision - maybe will just end up with a mattress purchase but we will see. I am still very happy 10 months later with my Alden Media Stand. It's probably my favorite piece of furniture in our home. read more

After looking long and hard for a replacement loveseat, I found the perfect fit at Room & Board. I ordered it online, and it arrived about 1 week ahead of schedule. Imagine my joy as the perfect pieces were delivered and set up in my family room. I purchased 2 pieces of a sectional, with the intention of setting them up as a loveseat. As soon as the delivery men drove away, I noticed a HUGE problem! (I know...I should have looked at everything before they left. That's on me!) The sectional pieces were not touching at the back cushions. The bottoms fit together perfectly, but the back cushions had a 2 inch gap!! This is completely unacceptable, so I immediately called customer service. The woman I spoke to asked that I send photos, so she could escalate the claim to the correct department. I sent photos immediately. Some time went by, and I had not heard from customer service, so I sent a follow up email, asking her to confirm the receipt of my photos, and called her, only to discover she had already left for the week! So, now I'm stuck with pieces that don't fit together properly, and I won't hear back from anyone for at least 3 days. Fast forward 1.5 months, and I'm STILL waiting for someone from Room & Board to acknowledge my issue. In the mean time I have come up with a "fix" for my pieces, but Room & Board doesn't know that!! Why haven't they responded to my numerous phone calls and emails? I finally got a response this afternoon! Joy of joys, maybe now I can get this rightfully resolved! But alas, it was not to be. I was told "our service team said this is not a serviceable issue. Each piece is handmade and do not always fit seamlessly together." They offered to begin an exchange, but could not guarantee that the replacement would be any better! Why?! These are sectional pieces, and are DESIGNED to be purchased as pieces so you can pick/choose the best fit for your space. They SHOULD fit together seamlessly!! So...NOPE! I'll stick with my "fix", and let the whole world know about your horrible customer service and product. I'm happy with the look and comfort of my pieces, now that I have fixed them. Very disappointed with how this sectional has degraded in the first 5 years. I'm single, travel a lot and only use in the evening. This sectional is lightly used, so when R&B told me that my issues are due to normal use, I was confused. A $3200 sectional should hold up well beyond 5 years, especially a R&B product. My issues: Feathers, feathers, feathers...they are continently coming out of the seat and back cushions. The batting they uses around the sides of the seat cushions separates and bunches from the foam core and becomes visible. The seat cushion corners have given up...they appear to be depleted of fill and look sad. R&B did send a rep to inspect, and they did agree to replace the chase insert. What aggravates me even more, is my mother purchased a sectional from Basset in 2006 and it looks better than my sectional. read more

I began my naive search last fall at a price point of $1k for a new couch. After seeing what was on the market for items manufactured in foreign countries that were cheaply made and not worth $1k, I swallowed my willful innocence and reset my expectation on price point. As such, I googled my long lost friend, Room & Board. This is when I spotted the Macalester online, and I knew this was "the one." I enlisted a friend to go on site with me to inspect the couch for a second opinion. As if this were "America's Test Couches" we sat on all of the them in the showroom, weighing the pros and cons, determining comfort, style, price, etc. The Macalester withstood the rigor of debate. It took about 4 months to receive my Macalester but the expectation was set up front that that was how long it would take since it was a custom order. I didn't like the news but I couldn't ignore that the pandemic had disrupted our supply chains. At least the service and communication here has been outstanding, from in store through to delivery, as usual. My couch is comfortable and chic. For reference, I have purchased multiple pieces over the years from this shop. The quality has stood the test of time. Why is this the coolest furniture in Denver next to IKEA? Don't get all excited, there is no IKEA in Denver, but I like to pretend that there is and think that I am just too busy to make it to IKEA. Room and Board is a great way to really make you realize how much money you don't make at your job, but you could make if you got a new one. The furniture makes you say, "I really want this" more than you have ever said about a man or a women. Their couches and tables, their chairs and beds, I wish my entire house was designed by this place. Instead I search Craigslist for used R&B goodies, that are still too expensive as second-hand for me to afford, but fun gems to find. Located in Cherry Creek, there are not that many Room and Boards in general, so having one in Denver makes me put me put my nose up to IKEA for not having a store here because we are not on a coast... NO Warantee....Period! As on the eve of the Great Recession retailers are getting arrogant and lazy. In fact that was the last time we shopped for furniture. The clerk, or whatever they like to be addressed as these days, told us they do not have any warranteee whatsoever on their furniture. We are in the market for chairs for our kitchen table. Considering some white leather chairs that are $800 each. But we're assured verbally not to worry because Room & Board is a good company and they back their products, they just won't put it in writing. Ha...ha...ha! Yea, right! He told us, not to worry, if we have a problem just call and they will take care of us. But not the legs of the chairs of course. That's normal wear. What about the seats. That's normal wear. Brilliant! Instead of hiring attorneys to create a tricky warantee with outs, they just decided~screw it. I was visiting In Ann Arbor over Memorial Day weekend and while browsing in a nice furniture store there, I saw the office chair of my dreams. All mesh seating and back area and scaled to my rather small frame. I had been looking for a few years for something like this. Since I obviously could not bring it home on the plane, I needed to find a local source, especially to try it out again to be sure it was just what I needed to justify the price. The store in Ann Arbor gave me all the particulars and I found that the only place in the Denver/Boulder metro area to see it again was at Room and Board. Since we had an appointment in Denver one morning last week, we trekked over to this Room and Board. What a gorgeous store with gorgeous merchandise. The sales person approached us immediately and took us directly to the chair which saved us a lot of time on such a specific request. I did determine that it was indeed the perfect chair for me. They do not stock this merchandise in Denver though and since it was a small boxable item, I was told to order on the Room and Board website, which gives free delivery to my home in Boulder by UPS. I was pleasantly surprised when I went home to order it that it was on sale and I saved $100 and it came in 4 days! I am writing this review sitting comfortably it in. Then I called them and they said it's now the 11th. On the 10th get a call systems down now it's the 18th. Get a call 17th only one chair is ready. Most of the reps were rude and could care less. The best delivery crew: They deliver at the stated time; they unpack it, they set it up in your house, they adjust things. And, very friendly. R&B has their own inhouse delivery crew and it shows. I purchased a Ford swivel chair and it was delivered within about 3 months which is pretty good considering we're still in pandemic mode. The sales associates in the store in Denver were minimally helpful as I was looking for a small accent chair. No one asked if they could help or direct me. I found the chair on my own and had to track down someone to make the purchase. I did ask if any planned sales were coming up and the associate stated "r&b never has sales, the furniture sells itself." The chair was just under $1000 which is fairly pricey for a small chair but I liked the look and size. After it was delivered I noticed the upholstery looked nice but I felt the arms were going to wear out quickly. After about a month I noticed a little pilling of the fabric. I called customer service with the hopes of ordering upholstery to make arm covers as I sew and they would be simple to make. The representative attempted to negate my observations and when she looked up my order she stated the upholstery I had ordered was better than average and she had a chair with the same type of upholstery snd it was holding up just fine, even with her kids using it. She stated I could purchase fabric at $60 per yard but it would take 3 months for delivery! I complained and she did offer to send the fabric at no charge but would still take 3 months. In light of her negating my disappointment in the quality and her rudeness I made the decision to return it. Also - I didn't mention the padding on the arms was thin and I could feel the wood when I compressed the sides of the arms with my hands. It felt like cheap quilting padding had been used to cover the wood then the upholstery was placed over. R&B has modern, sleek looking furniture but I will never purchase furniture from them again due to their very poor unprofessional customer service. We're buying a large sectional and after visiting RH, I thought I'd check our Room & Board. I walked in & saw a gorgeous option right away. I sat down. An employee was working right at the front with a customer. They finished about 1 minute after I walked in. The customer left & the employee Ed g back to her station across from the front door. She never acknowledged my presence. I then walked past her (she didn't even lift her eyes) and found a deeper version of the couch. Even better! I was curious about fabric options & needed swatches to bring home. Another employee passed me sitting on the couch and did not say hello or offer help. She was not working with anyone that I could see. I proceeded to the fabric area & looked at fabrics for about 4 minutes. No one came to help or even greeted me. I saw one other employee working with a customer. Otherwise it was very quiet at 3 pm on a Thursday. Room & Board, you just lost a potential customer. It isn't hard to make someone feel welcome. I have always been so impressed with the customer service from Room and Board, and have bought a lot of furniture from them. The delivery folks have always been superb, and they have always taken care of any issues right away (like a small scratch the installers noticed during a delivery). But now they have outsourced their service, and I have been trying to get someone to fix a problem with my latest delivery for over a month, and 3 calls. Each time they tell me the 3rd party service company will contact me, and they don't. I would love to give a 5 Star rating to R&B, but I just can't with this new thing they are doing to reduce customer service. Chapter 1: Tale of the Warped Wood Bought a coffee table in September 2016. Light Ash with Portico base - Paid $1000.00 Delivery in October was fine. No hitch. 4 months later in January, discovered a large crack in table top where bolts are screwed in. A couple weeks later, 3 more cracks appeared on the other sides. We also notice that table top warped. Jill from distribution center kindly handles the exchange. Says she has confidence the same type wood top won't warp again. I however, have no confidence that there can be any guarantee the same wood won't just warp again. I cannot take the chance. So, I opt for the heavy duty quartz top instead. I am charged the additional upgrade amount of $161.00. Fine. Chapter 2: Cutting Corners and Broken Bits Guys come to deliver my new quartz table. They try to disassemble my original table by removing the wood top from the base. They are completely unable to remove the top and they strip several drill bits trying. Apparently, the previous furniture person did not pre-drill holes for the bolts. This act of incompetence likely led to the warping/splitting issue. The guys leave. I email Jill back and ask - Ok - so, when are they coming yet again to deliver my new table? Sets the date for following week. Chapter 3: Are you Kidding Me? Following week comes, I see the furniture delivery guys coming into my home with the coffee table base. I tell them to stop immediately. I can clearly see they brought the wrong base. We go and review the invoice they have. They have my order correct, but they brought up the wrong table. I review the top. Yep. the top is wrong too. I ordered white quartz. This quartz top that they were about to bring in was black. Not even close to the right top. Guys check truck. Find out they came all the way out to deliver my table with my table still in the warehouse.They go back once again. Get the right table. Finally set up in my apartment late afternoon. During this last scenario, while waiting for the guys to come back, I call Jill and finally just tell her straight up that I deserve some kind of credit for all this absurdity. She agrees. She credits the $161.00 up charge for the quartz table. That is the right answer. Chapter 4: The End Result This experience with Room and Board was absolutely exhausting. I love the quartz table and so far, the quality is great. I hope I don't have to update this with yet another chapter of the Thousand Dollar Coffee Table Saga. Finally got beautiful table in the end, but I will definitely have to think twice, or three times, about buying from Room and Board again. read more

I really love the furniture in this store. I've tried to get a job there as a furniture model (you know, making the beds look that much more comfy by having someone asleep in them) but they weren't interested. Clearly they don't have a very forward-thinking marketing team. Their furniture is sleek, clean-lined, modern, fun and functional. Their prices are generally pretty expensive... I believe in spending 100% of the money on a quality item that will last rather than spending 50% of the money on a piece that will fall apart and look shabby within a year or two.... so my house is still only partly furnished. I had to take away a star for taking 4 months to get me my bar stools, and not keeping me updated on the later and later ETA. We finally got a call from a customer service manager who cared about our business; she apologized profusely for the bad experience and gave us free delivery and 10% off our order. That was nice and made me feel better, so I'll probably give them a second chance next time I have money to burn on furniture. Maybe they can earn that 5th star back. =) read more

If there was one place I wish was larger it would be Room & Board. My dream is coming true, with all the new construction in Cherry Creek, Room & Board is increasing in size as well. Customer service is always top notch and I'm never left with an unanswered question. I have my eye on a gorgeous leather sectional that keeps me coming back. They offer a variety of sofa's, chairs, bar stools, coffee tables, end tables, bedroom sets and other decorative items for the home. I enjoy perusing the store and seeing what style I'm drawn to most. I'm going to keep an eye on future sales to get the best deal I can on that leather sectional, after all I still like a good deal. Prices are somewhat high but quality never has a limit. Cherry Creek parking is at a premium and Room & Board offers a private lot. You need to ask for a coin before you leave to get out of the parking lot. It's a nice bonus to have convenient parking while furniture shopping. read more

Incredibly knowledgable, friendly, and provided exceptional service. This store has always impressed me and working with a great sales person just made it all the better. Was really pleased to learn that the sales team is not on commission. No high pressure sales here. We were very pleased to learn how many items can be customized and made to order. Having that option for semi-custom furniture at reasonable prices is awesome! This store has two levels and a really great selection of furniture and accessories. I purchased approximately $8K in furniture in Summer 2006 from Room & Board in Cherry Creek. I had a wonderful experience shopping and selecting my pieces - a smiling associate helped me from the moment I walked through the door until I walked out with a receipt & a slightly abused credit card. Unfortunately, that's about the end of the good experience. I paid for delivery, as most of my furniture was not in stock. The store called back, and scheduled me for an 8-hour block on a weekday - the delivery would take place sometime that day. No, they would not be more specific, no, they could not call in advance, and yes, if that meant I had to stay home from work in order to meet them, then that's what I would have to do. Delivery wasn't cheap, mind you. This reminds me of dealing with someone like Comcast, where a nameless, faceless BORG schedules your installation. But at least with Comcast you only get a 4-hour block. I argued a bit and did end up winning a slightly shorter window for delivery. +1 for the staff who brought the items: wonderful, as I recall. In addition, most of the furniture has been a great investment, except for the two $250 leather counter stools I purchased. This things failed completely after 3.5 years of use. Not due to normal wear (they are otherwise flawless), but due to a bad design that both a R&B associate AND the manufacturer acknowledge. After a hell of a lot of arguing including intervention by their corporate office, I can now receive up to 80% credit toward a more expensive item. That's not nothing, but it's certainly not standing behind your products. Room & Board, you seem to position yourself as this nice middle of the road company - not designer prices, but high quality & great for the mobile professional Denver is crawling with. But you know what? If I want to buy a piece of junk that breaks in under 4 years, I'll save some time & money & get it from AFW. The kicker, though? While we all know AFW will cost me 2/3 less, when it breaks after 3.5 years they'll actually stand behind it! *** All of the above listed issues are documented with emails to/from Room & Board & the product manufacturer. read more

Ordered four Radius leather counter stools and paid for delivery. All items were delivered fully assembled and ready to go. Delivery guys showed up on time (actually at the beginning of the two hour window) and were friendly and professional. The stools were very reasonably priced and are incredibly well made and comfortable. Kudos to R&B for another great experience. read more

Since moving to Denver about two years, I've purchased several items from Room and Board and have interacted with any number of sales staff and delivery staff. I could not be more pleased. I'm continually impressed with the helpfulness of the sales staff and their knowledge of stock. The delivery personnel have taken all the care and more that one could hope for in placing furniture, removing packing material. I think Room and Board is top notch in every way! read more

Gorgeous modern and contemporary quality made furniture. I love their adult and modern motif. I have done business with them and like their mostly US made pieces a lot. They don't have sales, but put damaged and floor items on sale every once in a while (I kind of like that they don't have sales, fewer hoops to jump through). Not everything they sell is at their physical retail locations (which I do not like). I am going to give them 4/5 stars in part because the floor people aren't as invested and knowledgeable as you might want and they charge a lot for delivery (which should be free if you buy over a particular amount). Which I think I would have qualified. read more
