I have bought a lot of furniture in my life and I normally don't enjoy furniture shopping because you usually get pushy sales people who won't leave you alone and try and talk you into buying the most expensive pieces. David gave us space to allow us to talk and plan our furniture layout, yet he was still available to answer any questions we had. Too bad I can't give 0 stars. Let's start with our salesman Taylor. During the shopping experience he was great! Mind you we were definitely buying and all he needed to do was write it up. We paid the ridiculous $130 delivery fee. But since it included assembly and set up thought it was worth it. So they only delivered 1/3 of the items. Not on back order or anything, they just didn't bring them. The item they did deliver they didn't assemble. When called about this the customer service said "oops, sorry about that". Called Taylor and he said he would look into it. Haven't heard back and never will. He's got the sale and no longer cares. We went to the local Asheville store to buy some living room furniture specifically because we were concerned with delivery. We have a home in a NC mountain neighborhood and very large box trucks can not make it all the way. Dan, our salesperson, said he was familiar with the problem, and said it was a common issue here. So he annotated the sales order with the fact that there is a tight switchback and a small truck would be required. He said on delivery date, if there was any problem to call him and since he is local he will help resolve. On delivery day, they show up in a 30 ft long box truck and call from the bottom to say they can't deliver. They said they would deliver it to the store but we would need to come and get it. So a quick call to Dan, was the next call. Dan says there is nothing he can do, the local store has no control over delivery, and have no access to smaller trucks. My Solution: we borrowed a neighbors pick up truck and used that vehicle to unload from the RTG truck and haul it ourselves. To top off the day one couch was missing the power supply cord - Call #2 to Dan: he said we needed to call customer service. Customer Service said "no problem"... we will ship you a new one... but it may take 90 days!!! Yes 90 days. Bottom Line: we got nothing by going to the local store... I wish they didn't get our business. read more

Had to wait for four different delivery orders on dining room chairs that were wobbly never correctly exchanged spending countless hours on the phone with customer service just ridiculous consumer experience ask for a $100 discount to compensate me for a new delivery charge of $137 they're charging me to reorder a dining room set which wasn't my first choice of course they couldn't get chairs that weren't wobbly to me after for deliveries. We had a budget when we came in and after trying all of it out, explained what price point but desires we had for a bed and mattress. She listened and wasn't pushy. She also educated us enough that we knew we needed to spend a little more to get the best bed for us! I usually hate going into these stores because I walk out feeling pushed and in debt. we went to Rooms To Go Asheville today for a new power loveseat. when we walked in, we were greeted by a very nice gentleman. we told him what we wanted and he brought us to all the loveseats that were suited to us. Lance was the salesman and he was very professional. he spent some good time with us explaining the differences between the different seating options we liked. we were not going to buy, but Lance showed exactly what we wanted. we ended up buying a new loveseat and it will be delivered in 1 week. we are so happy with the process, it was fast and easy. To make matters worse, a bench we received the first time was damaged. We just received the replacement bench, and it was damaged. We recently moved three states away from home and made the decision to sell most of our furniture as we wanted to upgrade a few pieces of furniture and not upgrade the size of our moving truck. I picked out a set online that was not on display at the RTG in Charleston, SC so we stopped in Asheville on our way. The salesman was AWESOME! We were so indecisive on the furniture we wanted because we were changing our whole style and we liked different pieces from different sets. The salesman gave us our space and stopped over to ask our progress or give advice. We were so pleased with the sales team we bought our living room set in Asheville instead of waiting till we arrived in Charleston. Our furniture was going to take 2 weeks to be delivered, which was great because we had time to unpack and clear the space in the living room. We were notified of the window they planned to arrive so we decided to be home the whole day just in case they were early, etc. They arrived at the end of their window, but still, on time. The 2 men were kind and efficient, we signed the papers and away they went. Shortly after, I sat in our accent chair (that swiveled) and we noticed an issue. I called customer service, waiting on hold for 15 minutes and scheduled a day for them to come look at the issue. Later that week the click in the chair seemed to resolve itself. I contacted customer support, we talked about how they could come double check the product and we reassured them it wasn't necessary. (This whole process everyone was so kind) I intend to purchase a bedroom set soon, I do hope we have the same positive experience with our bedroom set as we did with our living room. Furniture is a terrible quality. We've had ours about 3 years now. Cushions on Arms on sofa are already wearing down. Can actually feel the wood under your elbow when using it. Had a 3 year warranty but decided not to even try to get the arm cushions replaced due to what I've been through in the past with RTG. And our sofa has a hide-a-bed in it. Haven't used it much and we even bought the best mattress they had for it. Well used it a couple of times recently and can actually feel the frame underneath on your back wear the bars go across. I will never, ever purchase from RTG again. Am actually considering getting rid of this set and buying from a more reputable company. And that being said, I've read reviews from others that the quality of furniture from many other furniture places is not near as good as they used to be. So I will really do my research first before I even decide to purchase furniture again. Would give 0 on stars, but won't let me post unless I check something. read more

I bought a sofa and was encouraged to buy insurance. I was told I had until the piece was delivered to get the insurance I took a few days to consider and decided to go for it. I spent one and a half hours on line and on the phone and was told I had to go to the store to get the insurance. And I did..In a blizzard which was IMHO REALLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE The worst was in the store the person Susan behind the counter informed me it was too late to buy the insurance. Dan the salesperson wasn't there nor was the manager. Susan emailed someone and informed me she had to wait until they got back to her which could take all day. I insisted (loudly I admit) that she gt on the shine to correct her error or just take my credit card to get the insurance. She refused. After 2 more hours on the phone I got someone who informed that the insurance was added then taken off....WOW AND I was told I had to go back to the store (this is now after 5pm and the weather is 20 degrees and it is an hour away from my home). and that was the only way I would get the insurance. Sales went well of course! However it took 3 employees and 35 minutes to help me find where my deposit was applied on my invoice as even they couldn't do the math and explain. One day BEFORE delivery they called and changed delivery date to a day we had already planned a party. And lastly my bedroom furniture was chipped up bad during set-up and now we have to repair it ourselves! Not impressed with quality. read more

We bought 2 twin beds, 2 mattresses and a matching nightstand. When the furniture was delivered (very high delivery price), the movers dropped one of the headboards and damaged it. Rooms to Go said they would send another. Weeks later, the next movers came with it, opened the box and the cap on one of the pillars was cracked off the pillar. Rooms to Go then said that this line was now discontinued so they could not replace the headboard and that we could come in to buy another bed from another line of furniture. Of course, we had decorated the room with linens, spreads, pillows etc that matched the original furniture. And I had no interest in dealing with them all over again for another horrible experience. They are now sending out a "technician" who is supposed to repair the original headboard a week later. Beware of the salepeople as well. They will add all sorts of charges such as fabric protection, mattress protectors etc., that they do not tell you about. YOu have to catch those before you pay. Also beware of their "packages" - you cannot nail them down on the pricing if you want to deviate. I WOULD NEVER GO BACK. THEY DESERVE NO STARS. read more

My husband and I had just gotten married and decided to invest in a new bedroom suit. We were so excited we loved the same furniture online and it was from Rooms to Go so we went to the store and bought our suit and mattress. The first problem I noticed is that the salesperson automatically added in a $60 mattress cover which we hadn't asked for. Then upon delivery 1 (there were three separate deliveries we had to be available for over the course of 2 months) the people delivering the furniture scratched our hardwood floors - there is actually a chunk out of the floor - and then they backed into the mailboxes on the end of our street which have 4 mailboxes on them for us and the rest of the street. The posts broke and mailboxes were off the posts and dented. Upon calling Rooms to Go, they say that they are not responsible because their drivers are independent contractors and not employees. They wouldn't credit us anything to replace the mailboxes nor the hardwood floor dent, but said to have three companies quote how much they would charge to fix the mailboxes and send them the quotes they might pay for it. I cannot even imagine how much time that would have taken for us, just in our little spare time to include getting quotes to fix something that their company did. There were other issues along the way too like sending the wrong tv console twice and not wanting to take back the consoles even though they weren't what we ordered, and not bringing the brackets to install a mirror on the dresser. To top it off the quality of the furniture is terrible! Even upon delivery it was chipping, there is a hole in one of the end tables, and scratches everywhere. Our brand new furniture looks cheap and horribly made and old. Awful experience all around I will never go again. I don't know how they are still in business. read more

Walking into Rooms To Go Asheville you will be greeted and met by a sales person. As I walked into the show room with my family and another family walked in behind me. We were greeted by our sales person Zach. The next family was not. The show room manager processed to verbally assault the other sales man for looking at his phone instead of greeting the next family. It was an honest mistake as the sales person thought we were all together, but the manager didn't care. We were helped and found a living room set that we liked. We proceed to purchase the set and paid for everything and was informed of a delivery date over a month away. This was disheartening but we accepted it. This is the last of the pleasant experience we have had with this company. We received a call earlier then expected to deliver our furniture. They informed us it will be delivered on Wednesday the 9th. We informed them that we have 3 small children and work and won't be home on Wednesday as it is our busiest sports day. They informed me that Wednesday is the only day they will deliver in our area and we are out of luck. When we protested the hung up on my wife. I called just seconds later and was met with another nasty person at the 1-800 customer service department. She proceeded to tell me oh well and she hung up on me. I called the local store to ask about a refund and spoke to Kristian Stacy. She informed me that we could only get a refund with 48 hours after purchase. I assume they set this rule up because they have experienced this issue in the past. I spoke to her for some time. She did keep her professionalism, but informed me there is nothing she can do. I will just have to take off work and lose my pay for a day because of their lack of customer service. IF YOU WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE JUT A NUMBER PURCHASE FROM ROOMS TO GO ASHEVILLE. I love my furniture so the company not so bad BUT................... DO NOT FINANCE WITH THEM!!!!!!! I was approved for financing for Rooms To Go furniture through Synchrony Bank. I have paid my bill every single month and in some cases twice in one month. I started receiving collection calls in dec. I answered and although confused I settled the situation. I asked her to look back through the months and she verified that I had never missed a payment and that I had indeed paid a few times twice within a month. I asked her why I was being charged 3 months of late fees then, and why am I just hearing about it. She told me that the times I paid my bill early or twice in one month did not count towards my bill cycle. Here it is May and for the past 3 weeks I have been receiving 9 calls a day (of which I have chosen not to answer becasue it is so stressful and I was graduating and had finals) I know its going to be the exact conversation I had in Dec and I know I have also been paying my bill every month. Long story Short, since it is interest free financing, the back will do what ever they have to do to get their money. read more

Terrible experience. Made assurances about delivery that I asked about prior to purchase. After they took my money they couldn't do what they specifically assured me that they could. Also told me there was a problem with my check clearing, which I knew was untrue. I even confirmed that with my bank. Be very careful when dealing with these people. Personal opinion-I felt that they told me what I wanted to hear, but didn't follow through when they took my money. Also, after canceling the order, I have to wait another 2-3 weeks to be reimbursed. I purchased a new bed from Rooms To Go. It has an electronic base that raises and lowers the head and foot and has massage as well. 1 week after I purchased this bed, the base no longer responds to the remote control (owner's manual, I need to reset it by using a pairing cable (that did not come with the bed at delivery). So I call the store and they have no idea where one is and tell me to call their customer service line. So I call the customer service line and am told there is nothing they can do as I bought a floor model and it comes as is, and they will not help me find this cable to be able to reset my bed that is stuck in an upright position at the head!!! No I have to contact the manufacturer to get a pairing cable!! Not sure why Rooms To Go couldn't have done that for me to ensure customer satisfaction, but I am now stuck with a non-working bed and a phone number to nowhere for a cable!! This is by far the absolutely worst customer service I have ever had from any business I have ever had dealings with! I will NOT go to them again for anything and I highly recommend that no one else does either!!!!! read more

Sorry for the long review however I feel the public needs to be informed about the poor service and issues with Rooms To Go before investing time and money with them. In November 2018 I ordered a Dining room set and matching server from RTG in Asheville NC. I was told my table would deliver on December 8th. I reiterated that I had a dinner party scheduled for December 15th and was assured it would delliver before the 15th. I was told that the server was on backorder and would deliver the first week in Feb 2019. December 8th comes and after confirmation from the trucking company and my RTG sales rep I was assured it would deliver by 8pm. Well at 9pm I get a call that they cancelled the delivery and told me to call Customer Service to reschedule! The next day I called CS and they couldn't even find the order. Three days later after calling the Florida Customer Service branch the scheduled a delivery for Dec 22! I asked if I could have the show room floor set due to my Dec 15th dinner party and was told no. I had to pay over $200 on table accommodations for my 15th dinner party. Well on the 22nd my table arrives. Guess what it arrived with a busted base. The shipping company put it together and told me to call Customer Service for a repair order. I did so and was given a mid January service appointment. Well the day before the appointment I get a call from RTG stating that they wanted to replace the table instead of repairing it. She said they would bring a new table with the server on February 8th. Well on Feb 7th. I get a call again from Customer Service. This time they inform me that this set had been discontinued and that the server was delayed until mid April! Oh and she was sending the new table out in two days. Well guess who shows up? The delivery man not with a new table but he came to repair the base. Umm why did he not repair it to begin with? So I called CS again to ask again for the show room server instead of waiting until April. She instructed me to go to the show room and make sure it was not damaged and request to have it delivered if it was not. Well yesterday I went t o the Asheville store and guess what. They had already sold the Server off the floor. Yep not to me the customer that had bought it in November. Yep not to me the customer that was told no three times that I could not buy the floor model. No not to me the customer that was willing to pay full price. But it was sold to a customer at a show floor discontinued greatly reduced price! I am stuck in limbo now. I may have a table with no matching server that I have paid full price for. Oh and during this entire ordeal I tried twice to speak with the Asheville RTG manager. Once I was put on hold until the store closed. The second time I was told she was not available so I left a message and she never called back. The third time I went in and was told she was not there. Does she really exist? I chose this furniture after looking at three other stores in Asheville. The Sale guy was great to work with during the sell. Yet after the sell he is powerless to resolve issues, get accurate information on delivery, and get support from his manager. I actually feel bad that he the face of RTG for their customers has no support to help deal with issue's such as this. RTG has minions not Sales Support. I will update my review after I get my server, if I get my server, or after I seek legal council. Good luck to anyone that deals with RTG. My experience has been a nightmare. read more

I wish I had he option of no stars. I purchased a $2000 bed 16 days ago and it was set for delivery yesterday. After taking the day off work, PAYING people to cover the shift (I'm a retail business owner myself) I sat at the house waiting for my $2000 bed (just bed, not a set) and it never came. I was given a courtesy eta of 2-6 pm but was told that that's just a courtesy time, I was still slated for all day delivery ranging from 7am-10pm. Imagine the frustration when it's 9pm, almost bedtime, and I have no bed. So I called to see when my bed was going to be there knowing it's going to take time to set it up and feeling my eyelids heavy already, but nobody answered because they were closed. I slept on my couch, woke up with a TERRIBLE crick in my neck after paying for a $2000 bed over two weeks ago and when I called this morning, the lady told me to calm down, even though I wasn't being irate (trust me R2G, you haven't seen me pissed yet). I was told she was going to speak with her dispatch manager and she'll get back to me. That was over an hour ago. I know that r2g is a huge multimillion dollar retailer, but to your consumers, $2000 is A LOT of money, even for a business owner, for me to suffer through this AWFUL INEXCUSABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

My wife and I researched memory foam v/ coil bedding for months. Found the mattress and adjustable base we wanted. Purchased a specific iComfort mattress and Serta adjustable base. The sales person assisting us, apparently ordered the wrong base (a step lower than we asked for) without the massage feature. Not knowing the mistake, we paid 4000.00+ for this package. Mattress and base delivered today, only the base is a no feature, standard adjustable base. I have been on the phone off and on most of today with customer service, the sales manager, and finally the GM who offered to waive the restocking fee or offered an upgrade for 50% off the "correct" base. Returning not an option since our old bedding was hauled off this morning an hour before delivery. Then of course RTG asking me to pay extra for a base that we specifically ordered and thought we paid for. The GM of this store seems nice, but can be very condescending and short. I knew better than to buy from RTG because of their "2 year" furniture. I didn't read reviews on the Asheville store...my bad. I called their corporate office to be put in touch with the Regional Dir for this area, and guess who calls..the General Manager of the store, who I asked not to be contact by. She claimed to have spoken with the VP for this part of the country and then refused to forward my claim or even have the regional or VP contact me. Will never, repeat NEVER step foot in this store or do business with this brand again. Please take heed and believe the other reviews saying the same thing.
