I also really liked the receptionist, (I don't know if she's a nurse also, sorry!) always super friendly and professional which is really difficult when your job involves some customer service. This review is 100% for Dr. Lap's "nurse." I called the practice back in November to make an…read moreappointment after lots of research and also seeing that this Doc took my insurance (looking because my beloved PCP of 25 years was retiring). I was told that for this Doc (unlike others in the practice that you can just schedule with) you needed to speak to her "nurse" first to discuss your concerns. Um. OK. Left my number for the "gatekeeper" to call me back. Three days later (after receiving no call), I called to check in. I was told that the nurse/gatekeeper was gone for the day. But was also told she called me according to the notes? Um. No. I have no missed calls on my phone, and seriously if she really had called, why didn't she leave a voicemail? No missed call. No voicemail. A week later I called back (stupid me, but I was really impressed with this docs reviews and credentials), explained that I have never gotten a call from the "gatekeeper" and the awesome receptionist (I forget her name - she works for the whole practice and is so sweet and amazing!) got her on the phone with me. And here we go. Said gatekeeper picked up the phone and immediately went in with - "I called you!" I explained that I had no missed calls (keep in mind I was not being nasty - my whole career is in CS so I know better) and no missed messages. She then literally said, "so what is your problem?" Um OK. I explained that I was looking for a new PCP since mine had retired. I also wanted to explore HRT because I was never sure about it, but wanted to talk to a new doc that might understand. What did I this Bish say to me??? Well, it's normal, you just have to deal with it. Oh, and she was supposed to talk to the Doc about scheduling me. She was going to call me back. That was the end of Nov. 2025. Here we are 1/6/26. Still no call. This might be the most amazing doctor in the US. But we will never know thanks to her condescending, not following up "nurse/gatekeeper."

She and her team are grade A professionals who truly care about the total well-being of the person. I am able to get appointments when needed and I absolutely love the reception, nursing staff and lab technicians. I highly recommend this medical practice.

Such a friendly environment. Dr. Lydia was easy to talk to and took all of my concerns seriously and followed through with everything I brought up. I'd mentioned I've been trying to look for in person therapy/psychiatry for quite some time and she sent a referral to deep connections and within a matter of a few days I was scheduled. I can't express how easy this process was compared to other drs I've worked with. Also the phlebotomist is AMAZING at poking!!!! She's very talented and made the blood test process quick and painless.

The Community Health Center on Shore drive has medical and dental services. They see patients with…read moreinsurance and without insurance. If you don't have insurance they will put you on a sliding scale fee, which is very helpful. You pay alot less for the services depending on your income. The dental appointments can be months away is the only problem. But it still is helpful if you can wait it out. The staff is friendly and helpful for the most part. I got a filling and deep cleaning so they split the appointments up over a few months. You are expected to pay upfront, there is no payment plan. So expect to have your money in hand when you go. The lobby can get pretty crowded so make sure you show up a little early for checkin. Its pretty easy to find and parking is always available. If you need care but don't have insurance this is a great alternative that i don't think alot of people are aware of. The dental techs treat you with respect and get you in and out. Now heres where the problem came in. I got 2 fillings. They didn't ask if I'd prefer the silver or the white filling... I preferred the cheaper one because its a back tooth. They applied the white ones without discussing it with me which was double the price. That was a problem. The gentleman spoke with his supervisor and they resolved the issue and charged for the silver filling, which i think is fair. I am happy that they listened to my concerns. I do recommend them if you need care. It may take a while to get in, but its better than nothing. Check them out!! 3.5 stars...
