Now you're lucky if 2 of the many boat ramps are open the rest are out of water. I still enjoy going a couple days in the middle of the week. Stay at the cheap little Roosevelt resort. The bar and grill there I believe it's called the Boondocks has a hard time staying open. Revolving staff and owners. But when it is open it's nice to have right by your room, there is a dirty little pond that the rooms surround on one side. I've seen people catching bass there, but you can see the cards everywhere. Only about 20 rooms, 2 little apartment suites, and a small cabin if you take a small group with you. Overall, the fishing is decent usually, and I always enjoy filming the pair of Bald Eagles living on the north side of the lake. They always seem to point me to the fish. Totally worth seeing both when in the area. The drive was beautiful. Water levels are a bit low, but still amazing. The flowers are already in bloom, but will be even better by end of February into March if you'd love to see them. I love poppies but there are so many more flowers also in bloom, to see the best area I'd recommend the area just before Rattlesnake Cove . There is a small trail with roadside parking if lucky. Or can park in the cove parking and small hike back up to area. You do need to pay for a rec pass if parking and spending the day. You can purchase at stores nearby or roadside spots you'll see along the way. Traffic wasn't too bad today but as it warms up and flowers more in bloom be prepared. There is also a restaurant near the boat dock as well.

We arrived between 6-630p and the main parking lot was full, but there was another lot close by that had some spots open. Lots of people were swimming and hanging out on the beach. There were lots of boats and jet skis too. It was a really great night/sunset with the canyons surrounding the lake. Kind of a cloudy sky, but the stars eventually came out! A very relaxing time! Got some tips on bait and purchased a few more lures. A couple of small snow packs still visible, and a few snow flakes in the morning. Caught and released a nice rainbow trout. Saw a bald eagle fly by and enjoyed the scenery. Had lunch near a scenic outlook. Place is likely crowded on weekends but that is expected, given the location and beauty of this place.

We spent the day at Lake Bartlett Marina with some friends who are considering signing up for a…read moremonthly membership. They've been on the waiting list and wanted to check out the fleet of boats included with the membership and get out on the water, and we were happy to tag along! We ended up on a pontoon with a full shade cover, which was a huge plus. Since it was a super hot August day and we were out during full sun, having complete shade made a big difference compared to a half-shade boat. We were also given a tube, which the kids were VERY excited about! We did have to wait a while before getting on the boat even with our 1pm reservation, but our friends were going through all of the membership information and learning how everything works. It just took a while to get that started. While we waited, the kids had fun feeding the fish the fish food, and of course we ended up grabbing a few snacks from the shop. One area that could use some improvement is the parking and signage. It was a little confusing figuring out where to go. We initially turned off in the wrong area, had to drive back up, and then continued on to find the guest parking and rental area. The walk down to the marina wasn't marked particularly well either, although we eventually figured it out. Once we were out on the water, though, it was beautiful! The lake and surrounding mountains are gorgeous, and it was such a fun way to spend a Sunday. One thing that took us a little while to get used to was that the lake traffic goes counterclockwise--it felt a little strange at first, but we got the hang of it! It did seem like they may have been a little understaffed while we were there. There were member boats coming back in, families waiting to head out, and other people picking up and returning rental boats, while we only saw one person working behind the counter and another who was busy getting boats ready. It may have just been the staffing for that particular Sunday, so I can't say if that's typical. Overall, we had a great day on the water! The kids had a blast, the boat was comfortable, and the scenery was beautiful. I think our friends may be signing up for the membership, so it definitely seems like they got a good feel for what Lake Bartlett Marina has to offer. We'd definitely go back for another day on the lake!
