This place is definitely in need of some renovations. The management company needs to put some money in to this place. I am told they are located in a different state, and it shows. We stayed in one of the cabins for three nights. The kitchen was very poorly equipped. The cabin is supposed to sleep 4, yet there are only two bowls and two glasses. Cooking on the stove was extremely slow as none of the four burners worked properly. The toaster only toasted one side of the toast as the other side was burned out. The heater didn't work well at all and so we froze the first night. The second night the bartender at the resort kindly loaned us his. Then the breaker promptly went out leaving us with no power. Fortunately we were able to find it and reset it! The shower is so tiny that you better want to wash your hair everyday because you can't get your head out of the stream of water. They have the worst plastic mattress covers that make you sweat as soon as you lie down. There are plenty of waterproof mattress covers that are much better quality than that. I see another review incorrectly identifying cabin 23 as being by the pond. Cabin 23 is not by the pond and is very very basic in comparison. I can only assume that the dog friendly cabins are intentionally left in a poor state compared to the others. This place has so much potential but is vastly over priced for the quality of accommodation that you get in the dog friendly cabins. Have not seen the hotel rooms so can't comment on those. What made this place for us were the staff in the bar, and all the locals that we met there. They are all so kind and friendly, and happy to give tips on places to see in the area. I hope the management will consider putting some money in to this place to make it somewhere that people would consider returning to as there is so much to see and do in the area. read more

The owners opened a room up for us on a holiday when no other rental places were around/open. They are renovating, and the rooms seem to have better sleeping arrangements than the cabins. Their food is good and they have a full service bar. The owners are super nice and the staff is very accommodating. I will go back there again because of the way they treated my family and I. I took the Little Lady to this Lilly pad because it sounded like a great stay-cation where we could having dinner, dancing, and spend the night. And it did not disappoint. If you want a place that's lost in the seventies, needs lots of work, but the staff and patrons are as sweet as pumpkin pie; if you want a place that will have you coming back home saying things like "Little Lady, Lilly pad, and sweet as pumpkin pie," then this is it. The hotel is far from perfect, but the staff and patrons more than make up for it! I can't emphasize this enough. Only a real cowboy would call this a resort, but it's also the kind of down home place that makes everyone feel right at home. Stephanie, one of the staff members who works at least three jobs there will bend over backwards to make sure you are well taken care of. The Silver Stars Band was playing and you could not get a more danceable country western band. The dance floor was big. The patrons lively and friendly. As long as they keep having bands like them there and a dance floor, we will keep coming back to stay. The place could use an upgrade and we would love to see some good vegan items on the menu, but again the staff, band, dancing, patrons, and scenery more than made up for all of this. read more

The nicest thing I can say about Roosevelt Resort Park is that the people seemed pretty friendly and it was basically quiet except for the periodic sound of power tools and the high-decibel air conditioner in the cabin. It's also in nice proximity to the lake, cliff dwellings, and some decent hiking trails. The rest of the experience was laughably overpriced. I guess everyone's entitled to their own definitions of words, á la Humpty Dumpty, but what they called a "resort" falls firmly into the category of "trailer park" in my lexicon. We checked in around 5 pm and were pointed across a field in the general direction of our cabin because, as it was explained, they had removed all the numbers from all the cabins. Our cabin was identified as being "the one with 2 green chairs out front". Every cabin here has 2 green chairs out front, and it took us 2 tries to get it right. We were under the impression that we were getting a cabin with 2 rooms, a view of the lake, and wifi. This cabin had 1 room, a view of a trailer park, and little-to-no wifi. Also, it was about 115° inside, which was impressive, considering it was only 93° outside. We had to run the air conditioning for 3 hours before it was bearable to sit inside. It was about 24 hours before the room fixtures, including the beds, stopped radiating heat. We ran the AC 24/7 but still had to go out in the afternoon because it was pretty unbearable when the sun shone directly through the window, the curtains over which did nothing to block light or heat. The kitchen included a lopsided stove, which filled the room with smoke when lit, as did one of the burners on the range, a fridge from which pieces kept falling off, a microwave that did not work at all, 3 bowls, 3 spoons, 3 mugs, 3 washcloths, half a roll of paper towels, and some dish soap. Apparently, they cannot keep utensils or cookware in the cabin because "people will steal it." Good thing I got my friend to call ahead and ask about those amenities. If I hadn't brought my own pot, pan, plates, baking sheet, forks, knives, salt, spatula, &c., we would have been pretty hungry. The shower in the bathroom, a molded-plastic type cubicle, felt even smaller than it was because the floor was broken and you could only safely put your feet on the side. There was a huge crack down the middle of the floor that had been badly repaired with some kind of epoxy and then cracked again. I guarantee that the fauna beneath that shower is worthy of a David Attenborough narration. The toilet seat was not screwed on all the way, so it slid around when you sat on it, and every time we came in, the little basket of soap and lotion left on the tank had mysteriously relocated itself to the floor. Upside down. One of the beds had a broken frame, so that every time my friend sat on the foot of the bed, the top half popped up like a seesaw. We saw many medium-sized spiders in the room, but they were very fast and I couldn't catch a single one to put it outside. There was only one usable outlet (unless you count the 220 volt outlets, but I don't think you can plug a laptop into those). In the afternoons, a flock of aggressive geese wandered the property, hissing at people. (Apparently this is part of the property's charm, as the new "Convenient Store" next to the office is called "The Angry Goose".) One of the windows was taped into the frame; this was the only window that had a screen on it. There was only one parking spot in the shade next to the cabin, and it was occupied by a decrepit Jeep that, as far as we could tell, was not moved once the entire 4 days of our stay. The way I see it, this room would have been OK if they priced it like the lowbrow work in progress that it is, but it cost as much as a nice hotel room in a city. My friend was terrified that the clerk would ask us how our stay was at checkout, but apparently the clerk did not care how our stay was, and my friend was relieved to not have to talk about it. read more

There is not a lot of options in this area but this is close to the lake which is why we stayed here. The price of the rooms are good and the beds are super comfy not lumpy or saggy at all. The bathrooms were clean and had a working fan, which is important. The a/c blasted cold which is perfect for me! The best part of the stay are the ducks, pond and watching the fishers. The food was substandard, no seasoning and tasted microwaved. The only real gripe I have is that there is no WiFi and the internet signal is bad on your personal phone or computer. So think of it as a camping trip and not a resort and it will be a great time. All in all, I will stay here again. read more

This is our second year staying at Roosevelt Resort, last year a few minor concerns but figured it was due to "management change". Dated décor, enough to get the job done as a hotel. The biggest reason we stayed there was the boat ramps are only 10 min away. This year the same slow service and one person trying to run everything continued and we got the same "management change" excuse. A few things the didn't sit well with us. Service at the restaurant- for one slow and waitresses competing for tables. awkward!! and between the two, the Dinner orders were still wrong.. (Lucy was great she got the Tip, pure service). Breakfast orders again wrong (Lucy was off apparently) and the TO GO order was wrong, that delayed our departure for the Lake. Hotel accommodations - 1. Comforters were worn, sheets clean but stained, staff entered the room with a DOT NOT DISTURB sign on door, turned off AC when we left (Came back to a hot room.) Latch on sliding glass door not working secondary look too high for my wife to reach. when the staff came in the room they emptied the Trash turned off the AC and that's it! no new towels, didn't make up the beds, didn't set out a spare Toilet paper roll or change it , ours being almost empty. When a friend called the office to complain about similar service, she was met with a very arrogant rude "go some where else" attitude. SO WE ARE! I would recommend finding another place to stay, the owners and employees are unprofessional and non communicative. I stayed in room 10. I had booked for multiple nights but left the next morning when I found bed bugs. After sending video evidence and returning the keys I was told the owner or manager would reach out within the day regarding a refund. They never reached out or explained why I wasn't getting the full refund. I had to call multiple times and each time was a vague response. Susan and Dean shouldn't be allowed to run a motel if they can't uphold the basics of cleanliness and pest control. I would think they'd be decent enough to refund the full amount seeing that I am now accruing costs of car cleaning, pesticides, and laundry. Very disappointing to see that's how they do business. The photo that you see shows the location being Roosevelt Arizona that morning, it is sad and a shame that Dean will go as far as to lie about the linens he has at his business. We have stayed here before and love that there is so much room in the cabin for our big group. The kitchen is great so that we can take food to cook for our family. Its a great hang out space, the view of the pond and ducks is relaxing. If I could change one thing, it would be the size of the shower, it's a bit small. Other than that everything is great. I have stayed here a few times and each time the hotel rooms have been clean, sure a little outdated but always clean. The TV worked great, lots of channels, the towels smelled good and there was enough in the rooms. I don't expect a high end fancy resort when I'm at the lake, let's be honest, people are not the cleanest from being out in the sun all day drinking and sweating. Staff was very helpful and nice. I enjoy being able to back my boat right up to my room, makes me sleep better knowing it's safe. My boat broke down and we were able to work on it right by our room along with keep an eye on our doggie. The staff helped us out the best they could with any type of parts or equipment we needed to get the boat fixed. And as for the restaurant, there was a wait but everyone is short staffed not just Roosevelt! read more

I'm very glad that this place was dog friendly for the price it listed. My dog liked watching the ducks and geese from the rooms, as well as chilling by the pond. It's a great place if you want to get away from it all. Here's where I had some issues. 1) There is little to no wifi available, or at least of any they informed me of. I didn't have any cell service at the motel, and without access to wifi, I could not let my folks know that I was okay. I also recently just started online school, so if I wanted to get away for the weekend, I would have to take that into consideration. 2) I went for breakfast one morning. They advertised that the restaurant opened at 0700. When I went at 0705, staff was not ready to serve anything until 30-45 mins later. I was standing there waiting that whole time. A guy was sweeping the floor, but appeared to ignore me until he no longer could. 3) On Saturday night, other patrons were were partying, harassing the wildlife, and being loud passed 2am. Not to be a buzz kill, but when you're wanting to have an early start out on the lake before the devil's heat beats on you, a little sleep would be nice. There is not staff working passed like 9pm so who do you address this to? Nowadays it's not safe to address individuals face to face...you could potentially get beat up. I was supposed to check out on Monday, but I did not want to chance another night of no sleep, so I checked out a day early. 4) When I went to check out, a couple was at the front desk trying to figure out when they could come back again. The female staffer that was helping them did not address me, she did however address a gentleman who walked in after I did. Anyway, I waited 15 minutes for that couple and female staffer to finish telling their life stories to each other, all for the staffer to tell me that all I had to do was leave my key on the counter. 5) Didn't realize that this place offered a military discount until I heard the female staffer offer it to the couple when I was trying to check out. And when I brought it up, they couldn't adjust my bill since they already charged me. I can deal without the wifi as long as I preplan. I can deal with the slow restaurant service. That wouldn't stop me from returning. However, the potential of suffering other patrons that don't have any consideration for others and also not being acknowledged by staff after they realized I was standing there for an extended time -- Not going back. read more

I recently had my wedding at this resort on 04/23/2022. I was so excited to get married here! we have been planning this wedding since January! When I tell you it was a shit show from the beginning. We got there Friday night there was no receptionist on Saturday to check anyone i, no staff to take care of guest, or help with details of the wedding. I had to use my own plates buy my own cups silverware, decorations, table clothes, all of it, the all wasn't cleaned. The property wasn't cleaned, nothing. Literally no one was there. Saturday when I went in to decorate the waitress was rude and very disrespectful. Had no clue there was a wedding even though it was planned months in advance. We spent 500 on the hall, a 120 dollars for a room I rented out 7 rooms nd they were required to pay even if no one came and was required to pay the day before as now one was in the office on Saturday! Then I asked the rude waitress if I could use the specials sign to put my own sign to use for people to know where the wedding was. 10 minutes after the sign was put out the waitress went to the road ripped my sign off and threw it in the road and put their sign in her car. Then called the owners Dean and Susan and told them I had stolen it as it was in her car the entire time. Then owner then threaten to press charges on me because I stole his sign whom his waitress! She had the whole time. We waited two and a half hours for burnt food and when I reached out to complain he defended his staff! I am in complete awe of this unprofessional behavior! I would not do anything special in this hell hole! there was cockroaches in the kitchen the oil was black and tasted burnt. The rooms were dirty and full of dead bugs... they were not prepared for a wedding of that size and it showed. Dean and Susan should be ashamed of themselves. Very good room rates. We stayed in the hotel and not a cabin. Pet friendly. Wish we had taken our dog he would have loved the place. We thought it was a wonderful place to just relax and watch the sunset and let the stress of the day wash away with a cold drink sitting in the Adirondack chairs outside the comfortable large and very clean room even though they are a bit outdated. we had cabin 24. It was clean and had all we needed for a few days stay. The sink and faucet in the kitchenette was a little sketchy. The garbage can outside of our cabin was full and stinky when we got there on Sunday and still there on Wednesday when we left. Sad. I was also surprised to be charged an extra $20 for a service dog....the policy for service animals is NOT to charge extra... i spoke with the owner of the lodge and she didn't want to have the conversation....just thought I would pass that along as so many people travel with service animals. read more

First you need to consider that you are staying at a lake and not a resort and go from there. The rooms were clean enough and I enjoyed having a kitchen. My biggest issue was the bed. They have plastic mattress protectors without a topper so that made them very uncomfortable. Every time my spouse rolled over it felt like an earthquake, because of the low quality mattress. If you are sleeping alone you shouldn't have a problem with that. The "cabin" as it was referred to, didn't have a thermostat so it was hard to regulate the temperature. I think if they had upgraded mattresses and nice mattress toppers, and a thermostat for the heater I would stay there again. My sister stayed in the double wide and it was okay, except for the same problem with the mattress and the plastic protector over the mattress. read more

The rooms are very clean they do a great job at that, however, they are extremely run down. No money going back into this business. The walls have no baseboards and just ragged paneling. Bathroom faucets leak all the time. Electrical iffy. They do have a great coffee service in the room, have a fridge, ice bags from the kitchen, and extra blankets for comfort. The food has a lot to be desired. We had 5 burgers and 4 drinks came to $70 they were not good tasted like they were cooked then warmed in the microwave. Onion rings were still frozen in the middle, small amount of fries, and the fixings were wilted and tiny in portion. The condiments on the other hand were excessive we received a grocery sack stuffed full of ketchup, mayo and mustard. All in all we had a good time but don't know if we will be back. This is our first time to Lake Roosevelt. There are not a lot of options for places to stay, or eat for that matter. I will start with pros.... Nice to have a restaurant on site We booked a one bedroom suite to have some separation from kiddos Free bag of ice offered at check in Booking and Check in process was easy Overall the room looked clean and somewhat new Kitchen had basics like some dishes utensils, tongs, cooktop, mini fridge, microwave, etc Sufficient bedding and towels, mini shampoos & soaps provided Front desk staff very helpful and friendly Pond was nice if you don't mind duck poo Living room TV very large (too big for room IMO but my hubby and kids didn't mind!) Cons: Middle of August and AC had not been turned on prior to arrival so it took several hours of sweating in room before it cooled down. This was a BIG negative for me. Mattress quality-poor in both the bedroom and the fold out couch Shower curtain not the right size so kept falling off, towel hook had fallen off and was not repaired Restaurant menu is a bit lacking-the "chicken sandwich" consists of microwaved chicken fingers and a piece of American cheese in a bun. Only TV is in living room (bedroom does not have a TV) so we got to watch Disney movies all weekend No door numbers on the units...makes finding your room a little difficult! Outside of our building was sketchy... dirty, unfinished (2nd story has doors going no where..like the stairs were removed and they didn't bother making it not look weird). Metal sticking up from ground with big orange cones to cover them, etc. I was worried when we first drove up but the room itself was nicer than the outside first impression. Side note: ate at nearby Mas restaurant, it is family owned and cash only but food was great and the family very friendly with great customer service. :) read more

This motel was just terrible. The folks working there were pleasant enough but mostly incompetent and the property itself was in rough shape. Specifically: 1. They checked us into an occupied room. We walked right into somebody else's space and things. Glad they weren't there, or we might have seen something we couldn't unsee (or maybe got shot). Once we tracked the manager down in the bar she took us to a different room. No apology or anything. 2. Room #2 had plumbing problems. The toilet gurgled and burped all night. By the morning it was clogged and filled to the brim. Disgusting! We took all our belongs with us for the day (didn't want them to give somebody else our room and have them take it all) but when we returned in the evening there was a sign on the door that we had been relocated to another room due to maintenance issues (very stinky issues!) with a big smiley face on the sign. I'm not smiling. 3. Neither door was shut or locked in room #3. The security bolt was broken, there was no toilet paper and there was a big hole in the ceiling, no soap in the bathroom. 4. Upon returning home we contacted the motel about our issues. They gave me a different phone number to call saying "Susan will take care of it for you". The number always went to voice mail. Left 6(?) messages over 2 weeks but never got a call back. This place is a poorly run dump. We'd have been more comfortable and secure sleeping in our truck. I have been taking my family to this resort for 4 years straight now . Every summer we spend at least 6 weekends with them . We also bring lots of friends and family with us when we visit and it has always been a great relaxing experience . This was our first trip this year at the resort . And I was pretty disappointed to say the least . We had reserved the room 3 weeks in advance . I requested a roll away bed to be in the room ( my son and daughter do not get along on the same bed lol ) . The gentleman on the other end of the phone made sure he would make a note to management and make sure this request was taken care of ... it was not and we never received it . The room we were given had very little water pressure and a calcified shower head (hard to even wash the soap from your body). Sunday evening I took my family in to eat dinner after a day on the lake . Restaurant was pretty slow as to be expected . We ended up getting all our appetizers and dinner at the same time . Waitress did apologize about it . I would've been ok with it then we noticed the fries had been so over cooked we could not eat them . I waited 10 min for the waitress she never checked in . But I did notice her behind the bar . So I walked up and sat at the bar thinking I could get her attention . As I sat down I was about 5 feet from her and another employee and had to listen to them argue with each other for 5 or so minutes till I could finally get her attention . The argument was heated, awkward, and uncomfortable for everyone involved. Monday was our last day on the lake . We spent all day on the lake as it was a beautiful day with no wind . When we returned I noticed a truck parking right in front of my room door . If anyone's been to the place you know that the parking spot in front of your room is your place to park your vehicle/ boat. So I pulled up in front of this vehicle tugging my 24 foot boat and asked her what room she was in . She replied . I then told her she was parked in front of my room and I would appreciate if she could park somewhere else so I could back my boat in . She replied " someone is in my spot so I'm not moving " . At this point I'm not going to argue with her so I parked across the street a few hundred yards away from my room with all of my belonging still in the boat . Walked in the restaurant and explained to staff I had a truck parked in my spot and I needed to back my boat next to my room to unload it and charge the batteries on it . He then replied there wasn't really anything he could do about it and it would be safe across the street in a gravel parking lot . So I was done at this point and worked my way to my room to shower and go to bed . When we entered the room we noticed right away it had not been cleaned that day . Trash is full and we have no towels . My wife went to the front and mentioned to staff our room was never cleaned . They had told her there was a do not disturb sign on the door . I can tell you we've stayed at a lot of places and we've never used the do not disturb signs on the doors . Anyways ... about an hour later we did receive a new set of towels and we appreciate it . But all in all I was very disappointed and unhappy with the service. I truly hope you get your act together . It's going to be really hard for me to come back to stay there . Let alone bring friends and family along. I had posted this review on a different page last week after the trip in hopes Managment would reach out to me . I chose to stay at this hotel for a couple of nights while hunting in the area. Lets start off with, this is no resort! Dated rooms that were clean, but had all tile floors with stained grout. I opened the room and was surprised to see an electric space heater running. I appreciated the heat, but had to shut it off while making food in the microwave, or it would blow the circuit. Dinner was out of the microwave because the on site restaurant is only open on the weekends. They had a happy hour in the early evening at the bar, but when I went in, I felt as if I was intruding on the local watering hole. Internet was available but weak as well as cell service. The worst experience of the stay, came in the night when the squawking geese would carry on throughout the night right out of the back door, nothing like being woken up several times to the sound of that! I was expecting much more for the price that is being charged for these rooms. Choices are limited in the area without having to travel several miles to a bigger town, so the place has that going for it. read more

I am disappointed with my stay this time at Roosevelt Lake. We checked Friday, December 18. Saturday, December 19 woke up to no water in the hotel, we couldn't use the bathroom or take a shower, called the front desk they said it would be on soon. We waited, but we couldn't wait long. We needed to use the bathroom. We drove to the Marina to use that bathroom outside. When I asked what they going to do to compensate for us. The people at the desk just took my name. I didn't hear from anyone. I'm not impressed and we were a group that came up. read more

I looked for a place in the Roosevelt Lake area to accommodate nine members of my work team and me. We were all very pleased with Roosevelt Lake Resort. We had 10 rooms together and plenty of parking for work vehicles. The staff really went out of their way to accommodate anything that we needed. The food in the restaurant is amazing!! Fantastic prices for the rooms and the restaurant. Very basic rooms, which is just the right thing when you want to be spending your time outdoors or need to be away during the day. We traveled on an amazing dirt road (Highway 88) to the Tonto National Monument. At the end of the day, we were hungry and tired so we ate at their restaurant and decided to stay at their motel. We spent three days in cabin 23. The people at the resort were awesome. This was my first time at this lake and can't wait to get back. We will stay here again! Randy at the bar and grill was very polite and accommodating. "Cat" was soo friendly and helpful. This resort isn't a hoity-toity place but if you want friendly quiet and peaceful place to stay, this is your best bet. The only reason I didn't give them five stars was the restaurant was only open one night of our stay as they aren't open during the week. read more

We spent 2 nights at the Park; although the cabin lacks furniture to make it more comfortable, i.e. end tables near the couch, recliner, beds, the cabin was clean and met our needs with a refrig and microwave. Everyone we encountered on the staff were great. Very friendly, helpful, and eager to make our stay a good one. The restaurant food is wonderful. Best grilled shrimp and onion rings I have had in a long time. My husband had a hamburger that was very good. Fresh greens for salads. We understand that the new owners are working to update the cabins and grounds. Once done I am sure it will be even better. We would consider going back in the future. We didn't enjoy our stay and we won't be back.The rooms looked nothing like the pictures that were provided. The staff wasn't friendly and acted put out 90% of the time. Next year we will camp out instead! On the positive side, the live band that played Saturday night was great! read more

The 3BD/2BA was dirty. The shower drained on the exterior with improper drainage. The pot present to cook chipped and was unsafe. It advertised daily service and that did not occur. read more
