Hate to say it but I'm so frustrated with my experience, I shan't be back to this location...typically I give positive reviews, but the food has always been good and not great...The food as you guessed was its usual, but the "service" was a joke...server only had a couple of tables and I got to watch as she spent a great deal of time with her regulars while the neglect was palpable at my station, as an extremely good tipper it pained me to leave the minimum. Roosters is a local area chicken wing and sports bar franchise that has a few locations in the Lousiville area and nearby cities. This particular location is in the Middletown community of the city of Shelbyville road. I'm personally a huge fan of roosters. The fern creek and okolona locations are tj closest to me and I've probably been to both well over 20 times each. They have really good wings, appetizers and maybe my favorite chicken quesadilla in the city to match a fun sports vibe that is perfect to catch any pro/college sports and a ufc ppv. Service at these locations are always above par for the most part. Like any establishment you can have your hiccups. But usually they have hard working waitresses who keep your cups full. My personal favorite order at roosters is the chicken quesadilla to go with 10 boneless Carolina/donkey (you can mix two wing rubs in Thai case it Carolina gold and donkey). Just an A plus meal that always hits the spot for me. Overall this location like my two normal spots I hit is very good and always a great time. Roosters is one of my favorite chicken places, and definitely my favorite wing place. It's got great flavor and great portions and is a great place to hang out with friends. We always order a ton of wings and share them, and this time I got the Korean BBQ, sweet Thai chili, and some original wings. We topped it off with some tater tots as sides. The food is great. The wings are huge and taste really good, but the sauces are what makes them so amazing. Putting some solid tater tots on top of that makes this place a winner in my book. The atmosphere is very loud and raucous, but that's what you come to expect at wing places. They are always busy, and it sounds like it, but that can be a good atmosphere to have in the background when you want to get loud with your friends as well. However, due to the busyness of the place, service can be slower than you'd like, but it's completely understandable. Overall, I consider Roosters to be one of the best chicken places in town, and the best places for wings. If you're ever wanting a place to just gather with some friends and talk around a table, Roosters is the way to go. read more

Staff is friendly, it's very laid back, you're going to get a high quality chicken wing when you eat out here, and it's a great place to stop and catch a ball game. The food wasn't great and the manager with the blonde hair completely ignored me the other day when I tried to tell her. She continued to talk about the staff with her friends which I find super disrespectful. Our server took good care of us and even tried to get her attention but she didn't seem care. The fried tenders are good and even half an order is filling. One sauce comes with the entree and additional requests are an extra charge. Other items are fairly basic - fries, salads, burgers and sandwiches. Most items are ordered alone and you add in sides and drinks. While I enjoy the tenders, they are not worth the poor service you'll receive at Rooster's. From the front counter to table service most of my dine in visits have left me with the impression of the customer being a bother. This last lunch with my family was especially bad as I watched the server back talk my Mom like a teenager when she pointed out we hadn't gotten the correct entree. The server also badmouthed the kitchen and blamed them for not prepping our order - but we later learned the server didn't grab and bring out the items. This will be my last visit. Stopped in for dinner because I always love to get a side salad and order of TeriyakiChicken Wings for the top- salads are usually flavorful with lots of tomatoes, cucumbers and cheese BUT this time it was LACKING. I essentially paid $8.99 for a bowl of lettuce. So disappointed. My wings were good which helped add some flavor to the lettuce. I understand they do not take reservations but said send someone here 30mins before party and get on waitlist. so called to remind them again today and now they are telling me I have to have half or more to be there before they will add us to the list. not happy as I have spoke them multiple times. now their instructions change. no communication and honestly I did what i was supposed to and they are not holding up their part. will think twice before bringing business to them moving forward. read more

I really wanted to like this place. It's tough to find Cauliflower wings around Louisville and I was excited to try theirs. The flavor wasn't there and tasted Mostly fried. These were the most fried Cauliflower wings I've ever had and they were not good. I highly recommend they don't add them to a frier or make the Cauliflower cuts much larger. That way, more of the Cauliflower flavor will come through and it wont tqste like fried flour and oil. We ordered boneless wings and bone in. The boneless tasted like chicken breasts wings- instead of the meat from bone in chicken. Because of this, they were very dry and didn't have much of a flavor. We didn't like them. As for the bone in, they were delicious and this is what I recommend getting if coming here. read more

I was asked to leave Roosters Kentucky location on Shelbyville Road today. The bartender kept asking me if I wanted food and I explained that last month, my dad had a roach crawl out of his BLT, so I was not going to eat. It was pretty gross. Today was the first time since I was there June 17th when this event happened. I went there today to say hello to my dad's cousin. Apparently word got back to them that someone posted the photo even though it was not a public photo. I showed the guy asking me to leave the photo and he apologized many times, but his position was that his boss told him to ask me to leave until she got to talk to me. She was not there and I really don't feel the need to have a conversation about it. They comped my dad the food back in June and handled it as well as a restaurant could although they could have comped me as well since we were together, but that's not the important part of the story. I understand they have the right to refuse service to anyone they want and that's fine, so I left without incident, but I also have the right to tell the story. So, here is my story now, with them tagged and shared openly with the world which I had not planned on doing until they decided I cannot be there. I do not feel the need now to keep it private since they escalated it by asking me to leave. Perhaps they should focus more on asking the cockroaches to leave rather than me? read more

The only thing great about our visit was our server. She was on top of her role. We had an order of mild wings and order of medium wings...literally couldn't tell them apart. No heat to tell a difference. No sauce on either but was drenched in grease. Wings sitting in grease in the serving dish. See photos for reference. Server brought us out a thing of each sauce and it's thick like unmelted cheese. Sadly, we probably will not revisit again any time soon, if at all. I could have dealt with the lacking of sauce and heat, but there is no reason for a pool of grease. The wings are of decent size, so that's a positive. Went to watch a football game. Had a fine experience. Server, Allie, was pleasant but juggling waaaayyyy too many tables. Food was absolute garbage. Drinks were trash. Even the tea was brewed poorly. We had a mozz stick appetizer. The breading was thick and soft. There was not crunch or texture to the outside. The mozzarella cheese was not gooey and stringy. It did not pull apart the way you see on the commercials. The marinara dipping sauce was good, but they serve a small cup that is about half of what is required for a scooper like me. I also ordered a grilled chicken salad. The chicken was good. The ranch and the vegetables had absolutely no flavor. The bowl was essentially water flavored garbage. I haven't eaten a salad this bad in a long time. Absolute nightmare of a meal. Roosters is currently affected by a curly fry shortage that I have not experienced at other restaurants. We were not able to order these with the kids meal. We pivoted to regular fries to my chagrin. The child enjoyed them. But they were not crispy and not seasoned. When the rest of my group arrived, I had witnessed enough to warn them about the lack of quality. They went ahead and ordered a basket of fried pickles. This was literally 10 pickle chips. I've never been more underwhelmed with the quantity of food provided. TLDR: avoid. Dumpster fire of a restaurant. read more

We've always been a fan of Roosters. We live close and it's so affordable. We ordered takeout at the Middletown location tonight and it was delicious. First time back since Covid and went with our usuals. My fiancé usually gets the Roosters Nest, which is basically curly fries, jalapeños, bacon, all the works, topped with 4 boneless wings (which are huge) and your choice of sauce. $9 for a boat load of food. I stuck with the chicken wrap, grilled or fried chicken with lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. Don't forget the spicy ranch! It's so good! When we visit in person, it's usually under $30 including drinks. Their tall beers are always cold and cheap. Great place to watch a game as there's TVs everywhere. Roosters is usually my go to! I love the wings, the beer, the atmosphere, the fried pickles, everything about Roosters is great - USUALLY. Tonight we got a to-go order and my husband and I were very much disappointed. My usually perfect traditional wing order with the actual wings still attached was tainted with none other than...the smallest little Kroger-looking drumsticks I've ever seen! I go to Roosters to avoid the little scrawny looking drumsticks at much less worthy wing joints. So disappointed! I have never really cared much for Rooster's. My parents love this place, so I tend to come here every now and then for that reason. I love wings and sports bars, but nothing here really sticks out to me. Everything is pretty average. I guess adding this location is nice for those who love it, in Middletown, the land of chain restaurants. My dad and I had met up nearby, so of course he suggest to come here for dinner. Their menu isn't bad; There's actually a lot of different things to choose from. They don't have a whole lot of wing sauces, but their wings are alright. We were craving wings and Roosters was the closest wing spot on a cold and snowy day. The menu was crazy cheap yet the service wasn't the best. On several occasions we saw the server step away and come back completely flushed. She apologized several times for the poor service throughout the night. We go to this place at least 4 times a month. My wife ordered wings this evening. Ordered them X wet. She picks them up and before leaving always checks are food. There's no sauce on them. Asked them to be respun with sauce. Was told they would have to charge for it. Proceeds to ask for manager because are ticket says ex wet. Manager tells her that she spun these her self and they have enough sauce on them. Then gets loud with my wife. What can I say .... I LOVE Roosters. Today was extra awesome because of our server, Brandy. There were six of us where we sat for several hours to watch the first round of football games. Two of us arrived an hour early to get a seat. While we waited we grabbed a couple beers and ordered some appetizers. Once the rest of our party arrived Brandy had just gotten a huge party along with another table but came over pretty quickly to let us know she was a little busy at the moment and would be with us as soon as she could. Once she was able to come to our table she was very friendly and engaging and spent the appropriate amount of time chatting with us and taking our initial orders, never rushing us even though she had a million things going on at once. I have found my new wing place! BC Rooster's is not a fancy place. It is your average sports bar with cheap beers, bar fare and wings, wings and wings!!! These wings are decent sized, fried to a grease-less crispness. Especially when you order them as I do: traditional(bone-in), naked with sauce on the side. Although they are not battered, they still somehow manage to hold on to the seasoned salt that is sprinkled on top. Their wings are simply fresher tasting than most other wings I have eaten at other places. I should know, I have eaten lots of them. A dozen sauces ranging from sweet to hot to stupid hot is available. But I find these wings are seasoned so perfectly I don't usually use the sauces. Besides traditional wings, they also offer boneless wings, burgers, sandwiches and 9 in thin crust pizzas. Hubby LOVES the pizzas and declares them one of the best he's had. I stick with the wings and their thinly battered fried mushrooms. If you like mushrooms, you'll love their version. BC Roosters offers great food, opens late and their prices are quite a bit lower than The Brickhouse. I'm a fan! read more
