We started with pretzels and cheese. My wife went with the 10 boneless Korean BBQ and cheese fries. While I went buck wild and picked the 10 boneless korean bbq with extra sauce. This is a Military friendly restaurant.

Hate to say it but I'm so frustrated with my experience, I shan't be back to this location...typically I give positive reviews, but the food has always been good and not great...The food as you guessed was its usual, but the "service" was a joke...server only had a couple of tables and I got to watch as she spent a great deal of time with her regulars while the neglect was palpable at my station, as an extremely good tipper it pained me to leave the minimum. Had one soda and wasn't asked if I'd like more...when my container was empty early in the service...we had been to this spot numerous times and have spent hundreds of dollars, but won't spend another penny here...

Roosters is a local area chicken wing and sports bar franchise that has a few locations in the Lousiville area and nearby cities. This particular location is in the Middletown community of the city of Shelbyville road. I'm personally a huge fan of roosters. The fern creek and okolona locations are tj closest to me and I've probably been to both well over 20 times each. They have really good wings, appetizers and maybe my favorite chicken quesadilla in the city to match a fun sports vibe that is perfect to catch any pro/college sports and a ufc ppv. Service at these locations are always above par for the most part. Like any establishment you can have your hiccups. But usually they have hard working waitresses who keep your cups full. My personal favorite order at roosters is the chicken quesadilla to go with 10 boneless Carolina/donkey (you can mix two wing rubs in Thai case it Carolina gold and donkey). Just an A plus meal that always hits the spot for me. Overall this location like my two normal spots I hit is very good and always a great time. This location has a covered patio which the other two do not. So added bonus for this location.

Super fun place! Immediately greeted and sat . The food was fresh and hot. The atmosphere is casual and light. Lots of funny signs which I love to read. Restrooms were clean as was the restaurant. Outside patio is huge with bar and lots of tables. Right on shelbyville road in Middletown.

Traditional Wings (Sweet Thai Chili) and Tater Tots

Roosters is one of my favorite chicken places, and definitely my favorite wing place. It's got great flavor and great portions and is a great place to hang out with friends. We always order a ton of wings and share them, and this time I got the Korean BBQ, sweet Thai chili, and some original wings. We topped it off with some tater tots as sides. The food is great. The wings are huge and taste really good, but the sauces are what makes them so amazing. Putting some solid tater tots on top of that makes this place a winner in my book. The atmosphere is very loud and raucous, but that's what you come to expect at wing places. They are always busy, and it sounds like it, but that can be a good atmosphere to have in the background when you want to get loud with your friends as well. However, due to the busyness of the place, service can be slower than you'd like, but it's completely understandable. Overall, I consider Roosters to be one of the best chicken places in town, and the best places for wings. If you're ever wanting a place to just gather with some friends and talk around a table, Roosters is the way to go.

Always an excellent experience here at Roosters. Great service, great food, and great atmosphere. Always a fun time that we love

The fried tenders are good and even half an order is filling. One sauce comes with the entree and additional requests are an extra charge. Other items are fairly basic - fries, salads, burgers and sandwiches. Most items are ordered alone and you add in sides and drinks. While I enjoy the tenders, they are not worth the poor service you'll receive at Rooster's. From the front counter to table service most of my dine in visits have left me with the impression of the customer being a bother. This last lunch with my family was especially bad as I watched the server back talk my Mom like a teenager when she pointed out we hadn't gotten the correct entree. The server also badmouthed the kitchen and blamed them for not prepping our order - but we later learned the server didn't grab and bring out the items. This will be my last visit. Nothing changes here without management demanding better of the team.

This place is great! Upon arrival, quick friendly professional service. Ample parking abd great location easy major streets access and close to highways. The menu is your bar menu but ample options and good portion size makes it a great value restaurant with freshly cooked food. Plenty of tvs showing sports and many seating options inside outside booth high table regular etc. Clean place and fresh atmosphere. I'll be here often.

It was not the best food in the world but the food here tastes like home to me. Just really well seasoned and old school. Now here's my issue. This establishment had me wait almost 90 minutes on a 92 degree day (WITH MY FIVE YEAR OLD) for two meals. They had already taken my money, otherwise I would have booked it. Here's what I ate: 1. Fried Pork Chop with mashed potaotes (they were out of potato salad) and greens, gravy on the side 2. Ribs with macaroni and cheese and Pinto Beans I also got a blackberry cobbler. I checked in after 30 minutes and they weren't sympathetic. I looked at these reviews later and saw that someone said the customer service at this establishment was hilarious and they were not kidding. Here's how everything tasted: Pork Chop: very flavorful, glad I got fried and not smothered for texture reasons Mashed potatoes: good and real, but nothing to write home about Ribs: They were okay. tender. tasted like they were boiled and that's not my preference...they were also swimming in sauce. I feel like ribs should be able to stand up without the sauce and I was not sure this could happen here. The bbq sauce is part of the dish for them. Greens: overly salted, underseasoned...they needed to be eaten by the pinto beans Pinto beans: absolutely no salt--would not order again Macaroni and cheese: this is the creamy kind, not the baked kind (not my preference. Gravy: excellent Blackberry Cobbler: FIVE STARS. Delicious, buttery, so tasty. I went home and tried to make one. Seriously: no notes here. It is a must try. Charging 2 dollars for a cup of kool-aid is insane. with this kind of customer services, it would be nice if they threw that sugar water in for free. I skipped it, but just thought I would mention if you plan on trying to have some for nostalgic reasons. I haven't had any in about 30 years and I was planning on it but not when I saw the price tag. I live in Illinois, but if I ever do visit again I will call my order in, go sight seeing and then pick up my food. Don't bring your kids to this establishment unless they have confirmed your order is ready!

The dining area is small and no frills, so I'd probably use the drive-thru or take it to-go next time. We ordered the 4 whole spicy wings meal with two sides. I was surprised they include the entire wing, including the tip. Each wing comes with the drum, flat, and tip. The wing tip is actually my favorite part, and it's rare to find restaurants that leave it on. The chicken was incredibly crispy without being greasy, and the spicy seasoning had just the right amount of heat. I want that recipe! For our sides, we doubled up on the potato wedges, and they absolutely lived up to the hype. They seem like they're coated in the same seasoned batter as the chicken, giving them an extra crispy crunch on the outside. Pro tip: Order the purple drink! It has a grape flavor with a fruity twist, and it pairs perfectly with the spicy chicken. Overall, Chicken King is worth a stop if you're in Louisville. Between the huge portions and affordable prices, it's easy to see why it's been a longtime favorite among locals.

Crunchy breading, juicy and tender inside. They were not spicey or dripping in any sauce, just regular breaded and I thought "I am going to have to go to this place soon" After doing some research I found that they have drive thru only for dinner hours. So I made my trip down Broadway to Chicken King and could not miss the big yellow sign nor the already 7 cars in the drive thru. Since this chicken has a otremendous fan base, I considered myself lucky to be #8 in line as others pulled behind me. The menu is packed full of items, so my first tip is to look up the menu online before you go...less pressure once you arrive...lol I ordered the 8 PC box (regular) for my husband, 3 PC tenders (that comes with 3 potato wedges) for myself and a medium peach cobbler to share. I was very disappointed that the tenders were not fresh nor freshly breaded. They were pressed and glued white meat formed into a tender. I actually only ate one, shared one with my dog and threw the last one away. The potato wedges were the star. I should have ordered more of those. My husband, who LOVES fried chicken was not impressed. He said KFC and Golden Corral has better. The peach cobbler was average. So, I am sorry to summarize our experience as not having a reason to return.

We chose the main floor bar because there were less people and we were helped right away. We got a couple drinks each and all were pretty good- no watered down drinks here! My favorite was the espresso martini. We also opted for the Doritos nachos which were pretty filling for an appetizer! The menu states it's for 3-4 people, but it was a good serving for just the two of us. It had Doritos, cheese, pickled onions, lime, jalapeños, and a mixture of beans and it was delicious. We overall spent about $70.

It has a cozy, charming atmosphere that's perfect for catching up with friends. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. It took a long time for us to be greeted, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. It was just my friend and me along with a larger group of about 10 people. One thing that made it confusing was that the employees didn't seem to have consistent uniforms, so it was difficult to tell who actually worked there. Our server was friendly, but he kept forgetting items we requested and took a long time to return to our table. I used to be a server myself, so I understand that things happen and I try to give people grace. However, the pace of service felt excessive considering how few tables were occupied. The food was okay overall, but I actually thought my meal tasted better after reheating the leftovers at home. My friend also noticed that part of her chicken looked undercooked, which was concerning. We didn't feel confident about that portion of the meal. The biggest downside for me was the pricing. For the portion sizes, food quality, and overall experience, it felt overpriced. I can definitely see why people like the atmosphere because it's a cute spot, but between the slow service, the concerns with the food, and the prices, my visit didn't live up to my expectations. I'm hoping this was just an off day because the restaurant has a lot of potential.

We had a choice between sitting inside or being seated at a picnic table on the covered deck. We were assigned a high-top table in the dining area past the bar, where a few guys were watching a soccer match. The brine-soaked fried chicken is Eagle's specialty, so we ordered it. I thought the chicken was good,. So per the menu for the three-piece fried chicken meal, you can only order either all white meat or all dark meat. Interestingly, the two people at our table that ordered white meat still got a drumstick with their meat. The last I checked, drumsticks were considered dark meat. For an appetizer, we ordered the hush puppies. They had a nice crunchy texture but were very spicy hot. We also ordered the spoonbread. This was my favorite dish of the day. It was served warm, had a great texture and a light maple flavor. With our meals, we could get two sides. We requested the collard greens, green beans, fries, grits and mac & cheese. Only the mac & cheese was good. The collard greens were way salty and the green beans had odd and unexpected seasonings. Our dining companion was put out, and understandably so, that the menu said the grits came with white cheddar cheese. But instead, though the grits maybe had cheese, they were also loaded with loads of diced jalapeno. They were so over the top spicy, none of us could eat the grits. The fries were strongly seasoned with oregano. WTF? Our entrees came with biscuits. The biscuits were tasty, but unfortunately, because they contained too much shortening, fell apart when buttering them. And that leads up to the service lapse. After we received our check, our server completely disappeared. We waited a half hour for her to re-appear, gave up and asked another server to cash us out. He disappeared and we waited some more. Finally the red-headed server re-appeared and breezily explained she had been out on the deck the whole time. No apology or anything.
