It is a venue that has a lot of potential, with both the inside of the building and the outdoor field where ABR is held available as potential space. I guess I would say that I feel the ABR is too big for this venue and there are parking issues (not to mention the wrap-around-the-block hour-long wait to get through the gate). Other things I've been to at this facility seemed better suited. For the record, I do think that reusing an old building period is awesome. It's way better than just letting it sit there. :-)

I'm new to discovering The Trailhead at Theodore Wirth Regional Park, but believe me when I say I'll be back many more time. In the winter, they offer cross-country skiing and lessons. (You can rent a full set of gear for about $30- no need to have your own to experience skiing! They also have à la carte options for cheaper if you only need poles or boots, etc.) Besides skiing, outdoor winter activities also include snow tubing, snowboarding, snowshoeing.... You name it. (I haven't been in fall or summer yet, but I also hear great things about their mountain biking and trail running options.) Inside The Trailhead, there's food and drink concessions, ample seating, lockers, bathrooms, and even rooms for rent. The last time I was there, a family was hosting a young child's birthday party in the multi-purpose room. Altogether, there is an amazing assortment of services here to come and check out. The building is a perfect space for bringing a large group together for games, chatting, eating, and sledding on the snowy hills just outside the doors. They used to serve hot food, but they no longer have that option. The food was not consistent or anything all that special, but it was a nice option. This time we brought Thanksgiving leftovers and some breakfast bagel sandwiches. The space is well maintained and clean. It is spacious and has lots of room for young kids to run around and not be a disturbance. Always look forward to coming here.

He is good and does a little bio of John Denver before singing the songs. He is not gimmicky and doesn't wear a wig or round glasses to resemble the late John Denver. His voice has changed over the years and needs backup to sing the high notes. We were in row one so great seats. They had popcorn, snacks and soda for purchase and funds support the program.

The space is updated, and a number of people mentioned how nicely it was decorated. There is street parking all around, and a couple of lots further down the street. FYI: As with other rental spaces, there is a list of items that you can't use in the space - candles, confetti, etc . . ., but they have it all listed on the website under the FAQs, so you know upfront what you are getting into. Also, you have to clean the space when you are finished using it, not a big deal, just make sure you factor that into the rental time. If I were in need of this kind of space again, I would definitely use this space again.

It is a separate building away from the campgrounds and such, but close enough if you wanted to venture over in those areas. What a beautiful place for a wedding! I'm so glad we decided to have ours here. They made it easy to have our wedding here from the initial planning to the execution day of. Cathy, the event coordinator is very on top of things and guided us throughout the process. I was worried that the planning aspect would be incredibly hectic, but she made it easier to plan. The venue has a beautiful outdoor area perfect for our ceremony overlooking the river. There is a little tiki bar and a cute patio area outside. The inside is beautiful itself and you can be flexible with the way the space is used. There is a room with large windows that we used for our dinner, but it has been used for ceremonies, too. There is a huge bar in the "flex" room that was perfect for cocktail hour and mingling. There is a third room that opens up with a dance floor and has additional space for seating. It is perfect for a wedding where there is dancing and also people that prefer to sit , watch, and chat. The bridal and groom suites are perfect for getting ready with bathrooms attached and mirrors. What a great place to get married...I will certainly recommend it to engaged couples looking for a place with natural beauty and reception space.
