GARBAGE!! Yelp needs to change ratings to allow for -1 rating. This company charged us for a 1800 baffle tee repair that was not even the issue on the 1000 gal septic tank. And this was after we declined the 8k-10k quote for the new drain field they said we needed. After having them come out twice, we called Pumpco and got the issues fixed, accurately and priced reasonably, the first time! Turned out our issue was not a loose baffle or faulty drain field. We just had a clog in a section of the drain field. Even if Pumpco had replaced the entire drain field, it would be an ACTUAL 5K and not an ESTIMATED 8-10k. Stay away from this company and save your time, money and septic. read more

This company came out to service our septic tank/system. I was told the pump burnt out (septic system initially installed in 2020, new construction) and needed to be replaced. I asked politely what all I was getting for the quote of $3900.00 the manager on site turned to me and said , " you can get somebody else to do it, that's our price". I don't think that's the answer you give a customer who is purchasing from you. I asked again explaining I just want to know what services I'm getting and parts today for your price. He said the pump replacement (effluent upgraded ) was $1200.00 and the septic tank pump out / draining was $500.00. They did the job got paid, the next week (Tuesday morning) the system alarmed again. I called to them, they came out on Wednesday day after the alarm, said they didn't have the tools they needed and would be back the next day, Thursday. Came back the next day on Thursday and said they needed an electrician and he would be coming out the following Tuesday. We are on min water usage no laundry quick showers and no dish washing. Tuesday no electrician no phone call saying there would be a change. I called the office was told they would call me back in 15 mins. No call for hours, called back sent to voicemail, called from another number answered immediately and was told in a attitudinal unprofessional tone a few excuses and the electrician would be out on Wednesday. Weds the electrician came out was here for 20 mins left to get a part and lunch. Returned 3 hours later with no part stating the pump they installed was faulty the field manger came out at that point did not say one word to us. The technician and the electrician informed us they needed to order the part and it would be 1-2 weeks. Again we were told we are not able to use the washer, take short showers do no laundry or dish washing. If it alarms again before the part comes in, they will come and pump our tank again. I went to a hotel for 1 night, another family member left (going on 6 days away from her home). The system alarmed the following Monday morning (Labor Day). I called and left a message asking for assistance. As they are advertised as 24/7. No call back. Called the following morning, 8am, 8:30am, Tuesday 9/5/23, no answer sent to vm. Called from another number, answered immediately told the problem, was told ok, "ok let me call you back." No returned call no one showed up to pump the tank. I do think an inferior part was placed and that's the reason the field manager got nasty fast when I asked for specifics. I shouldn't have to be bullied out of see itemized charges, especially with an alleged amount of $1200.00 for a Liberty Effluent pump. So they placed a inferior pump, up charged ridiculously, have us living in shambles for 3.5 weeks and still will not answer the phone, or call back as promised to help us with the problem. I called the GA number and Kim told me that she spoke to Michael and she would call me back with an update regarding the pump. I will be filing a consumer complaint and possibly a lawsuit: false advertisement, age discrimination, price gouging, and fraud. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY Rooter Express was called after another plumber (who didn't do septic work) had cleaned out all drain pipes inside the home. On day one, Joey came alone with a backhoe and dug around the back yard looking for the septic tank. After not finding it, he said he would come back the next day with his "buddy" and find it and drain it. In case he needed to find a blockage (after draining tank) he would bring his "snake camera", but charges for using that are "expensive"... Day two he showed up with his buddy, destroyed more of the yard trying to find the tank. When they found it, they drained it. I was told they had to also "pump the drain field" and replace a piece inside. Unfortunately this didn't fix the stopped up toilet that when plunged backed sewage into the shower. I was told it was a blockage in the main line and they were going to have to replace the drain line to the tank, possibly jackhammer my basement floor, and this AFTER possibly using the snake camera to find it the next visit. Total cost including work they already did estimated at $7900. My parents paid this as I needed plumbing (already 2 weeks without) because my children needed basic facilities IN HOME rather than going to gas stations and friend's houses to bathe. The next day, day 3, Joey returned with his buddy dug out the main immediately from tank to edge of home. Slightly damaging storage shed in the process, and replaced about 20 feet of PVC drain line. They only connected TWO OF THREE connecting drains from the home to the main, and that was AFTER I told them one of the original TWO they left unconnected was from my washing machine drain. I'm fairly certain they never connected the third drain, but by the time I returned outside again after taking a call, they had already began refilling the dirt and had covered the connections. No work was done inside the basement. No camera snake, no jackhammer, no cement. Payment was made before services because of desperate situation. I, along with my father, contacted the company asking for an itemized bill. It took over two weeks to get one, and several phone calls and emails. Only $600 was refunded for "cement work". We were charged for pumping 1500 gallons of waste from a 1000 gallon tank. Another $600 for pumping the drain field, which we had then learned was not even possible, but could be a charge for back flow of flooded (heavy recent rains) back into tank from drain field, so essentially we got DOUBLE CHARGED TWICE for the back flow drain off. On top of that, we were told by 5 other companies (after the fact, of course), that the entire job should have only been about $2500 to MAYBE $3000 given it was done over a weekend. So, over charged minimally by $4900. Several attempts have been made to contact this company about being over charged, with no response. Beware of this BAIT and SWITCH company!! Rooter Express responded quickly and dispatched technician Jarmarta H. within 2 hours. Upon arrival, Jarmarta begin digging to access and tank lid and while digging kept saying things like 'Oh, this is not good' and 'Do you see the black streaks in the soil...that is not a good sign.' When the tank lid was lifted up slightly, water began to pool indicating an overfull tank. Without any further investigation, the price went from $300 to $2200 to fix t-fittings and filter, clear leach field, and do some sort of chemical treatment. All of this was diagnosed without even fully opening the tank. I declined the extended services and asked him to just pump the tank. He told me the job would cost $600 b/c the tank was overfull. I told him to not bother...I would call another company. I do not mind paying a decent wage for honest work, but this was a classic case of a company trying to advantage of people. I hired another company who came out several hours later who charged me $350 to pump a 1000 gallon tank, suggested that there may be issues with the field lines, but that I should wait and see once the lines have had a chance to dry out. That sounded reasonable to me, and if there is a problem later on down the line, you can be sure that I will NOT be calling Rooter Express. read more

I had Rooter Express Plumbing Services come out for a free estimate to fix a septic tank pump that I have. I found him thru an online recommendation service (HomeAdvisor i believe). Michael Baker is the owner and came out on site. He told me he had to pump the tank to lower the water level so he could diagnose the pump. I approved this work. While he was doing the estimate I went into the house. About 30 minutes later I looked out the window I noticed there was a backhoe digging in my front yard. I immediately went outside to understand what was going on- this was completely unauthorized and unnecessary. When I looked into the hole I saw that he destroyed my landscaping, underground wiring, pipes for drainage, and the secondary septic tank pipes. When I confronted him about why he did this he became extremely irate and promptly told his workers to pack it all up and left everything open and disassembled. I asked him repeatedly to at least re-assemble what he disconnected (re-lid the tank etc) and he refused with multiple expletives. The workers profusely apologized multiple times for his behavior and told me they had to do as he directed. Our septic tank lid was left off and the pump was on the ground. Upon further inspection you can see that his BBB rating is an F. It seems he's done this kind of thing before and I can imagine he will continue this behavior if left unchecked. read more

My property manager called this company to deal with a Septic tank issue and when the owner, Mike, came up with an outrageous bid to repair the problem, we stopped his services and obtained a new company that was less than a third of the price. When we tried to offer partial payment for the unfinished work he did, he was belligerent, insulting and inflexible. Steer clear of this business! read more

We had a great experience with Rooterexpress. Our septic tank had not been pumped for a long time and they spent the extra time needed to clean and repair our tank. We priced around and their prices were very competitive so we know we got a good deal. Mike and Jerry were on time and professional. I wish this review would allow me to attach the recordings I have since April 10 up to May 8. All thirteen.. You heard me right... l had to call them 13 times about my broken sprinkler system and backed up septic tank pouring out into my yard. Their own words and lack of effort would speak volumes. This blatant lack of responsibility this company has taken to rectify this now escalated matter is mind boggling!! The "owner" Mike answer and when I told him about my sprinklers system, he immediately without skipping a beat told me I signed my receipt and on back it says they are not responsible..... As a good business owner, one would think he would send someone out to check out the damage, and make sure it's not due to their negligence, since their contract DOES holds them responsible for their negligence.... But nope, not Mike, he request me to send him a copy of my contract and never heard from him since. I've called several times after.... Left messages with several ladies... Still no response from Mike the "owner"...... I last spoke to Cathy last week and believing that she understood the level of my frustration regarding this whole mess. Why wouldnt I believe her, she seemed concerned... She told me that she would finally send someone this weekend... Sunday May 5, 2019 cames and I called her back around 1pm just to confirm ETA on when they will be here (after all, I took off work to be home when they show up). She said that she will call the worker to see how much longer they will need since they're on another job and call me back......... Just had this company come out. Quoted us a price, for a non-emergency septic tank pumping. Told me there would be no extra charge for weekends. When the technicians arrived, they kept trying to charge us more and more. Said it was the weekend, so that was extra (the office staff confirmed more than once that they don't charge extra on the weekends but the technician said they did), then extra because it was raining and extra for this and that. The price ended up doubling from $450 to $900 just for pumping. We had them stop and asked them to leave because it was obvious that the technician was making up charges just to get more money out of us. We ended up having another company come out the following Monday. When the new company uncovered the tank, they found the lid had been broken. Even worse, the new guy (who was great by the way), found mud stuffed into all the parts of our system that could be reached, then covered with sewage but so it looked like it had overflowed, but he was able to show us how it hadn't simply overflowed, it had been sabotaged. The mud could not have entered into the parts by themselves, since nothing was broken. It had to have been shoved into the system. Thankfully, the damage done was relatively minimal. When I called the office just to let them know what had happened, and was very clear I was not asking for anything, just simply informing them what had happened, I was told that they didn't believe me. Their technicians wouldn't do that. I wasn't asking for any compensation, or even an apology, just informing them of what had happened. They simply did not care.
