The product: tried two different smoothies on the day before and after Thanksgiving. Both were amazing (something with blueberries and the Bahama mama - and I don't even like bananas. The smoothies have banana as a base - I don't think you can substitute something else. Added protein on the second day - worth it. Too advantage of the fresh juices... buy 5 - 6th one free. Great smoothies and wraps, super yummy. However I am very concerned for the staff as none of the employees were wearing masks or face coverings. Gov. Newsom did put out an order requiring all California residents to wear masks in public, especially in the workplace. I am disappointed by the lack of masks on the employees and customers other than myself. I stopped in last night (9/26) at around 9:30pm. I told the employee who helped me that I hated to be THAT PERSON coming in so late - 1/2 hour before they close - but he was so kind and told me not to worry about it. He had a smile on his face, a kind and patient voice the whole time he was taking my order and I felt very welcomed. I ordered the Funky Monkey smoothie and he had it out to me within five minutes! I was impressed. I wish I would've caught his name. He was broad-shouldered, about 5' 10", tan, black hair.. my guess is he was of Hawaiian ethnicity. Anyway, I hope they keep him around. Ordered the dirty tumeric ginger shot $3.50, small apple nachos (apples with peanut butter, coconut shavings and granola), hummus with veggies and a 16oz green machine juice $8. I can stop at Roots every day and never get tired of their delicious smoothies and fresh juice. My favorite is the Morning Dew. It is a great replacement for coffee to give you a morning wake up. Smoothies are great but it is SO incredibly hot in the shop, you can't sit in there and consume your food. Unhealthy working conditions for the poor employees. The staff stated that there is something with the system that won't let the temp drop below 20 degrees cooler than outside. It must be close to 100 degrees in the store, though. The afternoon sun is shining into the all glass walls. Crazy! I won't return until they do something about it. My wife had to go wait in the car. read more

Pretty disappointed with the launch of the new wraps they're offering. WAY over priced. It's literally going to cost you $12 for a wrap with just normal wrap ingredients, ie: turkey, avocado, cheese. You can get much better if you go just to Country Organics or Orchard Nutrition and for a lesser price. I get charging extra for avocado... but for cheese and meat? I joked to my husband this is where the skinny people hang out. I love going to Roots for the people watching and I think I would love to get to know and hang out with about 80% of the people I have seen in line there. What I love about Roots is they will make any drink you want. The menu is just a starting point. My favorite drink is Green Machine which yeah it is green and super low carb compared to a fruity drink but still tastes great with a real bite to it (the ginger does that.). Amazing people, yummy, healthy products. Great customer service and I LOVE the stamps to earn free juices. Anna was the first server I met and she knew her stuff, was patient with my indecision and she gave me a card with 9 free stamps in it so the next drink I buy would get me one free. She rocks!! Only one outside seat? What if I want to bring a friend? People who drink smoothies don't have friends, because they are too inwardly focused on their cacao and plant protein. The bushes outside are full of rocks, because people fear wild plants. "Smoothie people" only like plants that they can stick in a blender, and anything else will be stoned and shamed. I award 2 stars for great service, and 1 star for a tasty snack. 2 stars have been deducted for lack of compassion on the bushes. read more
