Just moved here from Sacramento, and I've been on the hunt for a good boba spot. I was starting to think it didn't exist... until I met the owner, Pamela. She was so kind and humble. When I told her I'd been searching for good boba in town, she smiled and said, "We just opened. We're not the best yet." Girl... respectfully, I have to disagree. This is such a fun little establishment, run by a mother and her son. They were both incredibly friendly, welcoming, and full of personality. Within just a couple of minutes, I felt completely at home. Now for the food: the beef chow mein was outstanding--packed with layers of flavor and a great variety of textures. I also tried the owner's signature sausage rolls, which were unlike anything I've had before. They feature a crispy, egg roll-like exterior with rice and sausage inside, creating a unique and delicious combination. The owner recommended mixing two of their sauces together for dipping, and she was absolutely right--it took the rolls to another level. This place is a hidden gem in Redding, but honestly, it shouldn't be hidden for long. More people need to know about it because it's absolutely worth stopping by for a meal. This is my favorite place for Boba. The boba is the best in Redding. It's made fresh every 4 hours. Their tea is brewed on site, not from powder. I've been hitting this place once or twice a week since I discovered it. Owner Sam is friendly and service is fast. read more

I really wanted to like this place but all the drinks and food we had were just terrible. Only went back because I had a gift card but now that it's been used, I won't be going back anymore. The drinks taste (and look) so terribly artificial and were way too sweet even when I ordered it "less sweet." The artificial flavor was so strong it didn't even taste like tea or milk. It was so bad I couldn't even finish mine. I don't know if it was because it had a lot of caffeine or what, but my sister and I both felt nauseated and lightheaded after we each had a Thai tea. My sister tried the chicken chow mien and she said it was so oily that it was "more oil than noodle," had no flavor, and the chicken had a bad texture. The staff was friendly the last two times but the first time we went no one greeted us or even acknowledged us when we went in. read more

My husband David & I highly recommend Pearls & Bites Cafe on Eureka Way. Every dish is made from scratch. The flavors are amazing! Eggs rolls were crunchy & flavorful. Stopped for a quick bite before a show at the David Marr. It's a limitedwnu for dinner, but in the interest of trying new things, I had the spam musubi appetizer --more or less a fat sushi roll, served hot with a slice of marinated, seared spam inside. Honestly? Expected it to be weird and only ordered it to say I had. Guys, it was delicious! I will be back for this. Not sure I have ever eaten spam in my life, but I am very glad I broke out of that rut. My wife also really liked her spring rolls. The Mongolian beef was decent though I prefer a bit more spice. Not even close to being orange chicken do not recommend getting it false advertising what they show in their picture and I didn't see an option for me to choose chow mein instead of rice. I would've had to buy a whole separate container for that. read more

Cute little cafe. We got the Thai tea and brown sugar boba and both were delicious. The boba had a good level of chewiness and was soft. The food is priced great and is delicious. I got the Mongolian beef and beef fried rice. The beef is tender. My husband got the fried rice, chow mein sweet and sour chicken and Kung pao chicken and he loved it. The Thai tea was good, the boba was soft and large which I appreciate. Softest in town I've found so far. The red bean paste fish bites were tasty. The batter was sweet. Not enough filling for my liking. I will be returning and trying other items. Overall would recommend. I hope the quality stays this good! Have you even tried your tapioca? I got lychee black tea with tapioca and the tapioca was so strange. It crumbled and was not chewy like normal tapioca, either you need to buy a different brand or cook it better because this was disgusting. The tea was great it's the tapioca that needs fixing.
