I'm very disappointed to write my only negative review, ever…read more DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CHRIS OR HIS COMPANY. He stole $1,000 from me! My story: I have approx. 7,500 sqft. of back yard that I wanted seeded. With some initial advice from a neighbor, I first attempted to seed the lawn myself. I spread 100 lbs. of grass seed over 7 days, watered it constantly, kept it wet, and waited a month. Overall, I was not happy with the results, so I googled Hydroseed companies. Chris was the only company I called that took my call. He gave great "phone", answered all my questions and was verbally helpful. I shared my initial attempt to seed it myself with him and texted him several photos. A few days later, he came out to the property to view the area and Chris said I would love the results of the hydroseeding and that he could do a great job to make it look nice. I agreed to his price of $1,000. I purposefully did not negotiate price with him because I wanted to ensure that he had enough margin in the project to do a good job and not skimp to save cost. I wanted the job done right and was willing to pay his price to be sure it was done well. We planned a 9am start time the following Wednesday. On the day of the job, Chris called and texted me numerous times with difficulties in the day. He arrived at my home at 4:00 (7 hrs. LATE). He had two additional guys with him. They rushed around my yard, lightly sprayed the surface area and were gone in about 30-35 minutes. Chris assured me again that this would turn out great. At this point, it's been another month. I've continued to water and waiting patiently for the lawn to come in. It's NOT coming in. The only seed that has germinated is the seed from the 100 lbs. of seed I initially spread two months back. The lawn looks patchy and terrible. I've been calling and texting Chris for days now and he's not responding at all. He's ignoring my attempts to reach him. I wish I had searched google reviews prior to hiring Chris. I would have never hired him, based on the existing negative reviews and how he claims that these are not his customers and he's a victim of false reviews. I assure you, this is NOT a false review. I would give them 10 stars if I could!…read more We wanted four things...a paver patio, a shed pad, a flag pole and a bubbler. After meeting with Ron, we had a vision for our yard far beyond what we could have imagined...and we love it. We turned our basic new-construction yard into a gorgeous, park-like oasis. David and his team are truly top-notch. They showed up everyday, worked hard everyday, their attention to detail is readily apparent...and they are true craftsman. Not only that, they took time at the end of every day to clean and sweep the work zone in front of the house to minimize the impact on our neighbors. If you are looking for high-quality, professional and good people...look no further. The before and after pictures speak for themselves. P.S. We didn't know what pit drains were or why we needed them...now we do. With all the recent rain, we have no standing water in the yard. An engineering marvel.

I thought I could do the rest myself, but I realized my limitations and looked for a contractor to grade the planting areas, fix a grassy area that was a mess due to tree roots, fix the irrigation including a whole new drip and replacing the sprinkler zone. In addition, we needed a concrete walkway and some stepping stones. Kam from Art of the Earth (AOTE) came to provide a quote and it was clear he had both a deep understanding of plants and a sense of how to use them within a landscape to create art. He focused on year round color and explained how that would be achieved. We agreed from the beginning that the look I wanted to achieve was as natural as possible without straight lines. The project manager, Tyler, the foreman, Jose and Hernon worked with focus on achieving the vision. I could tell this by the way they would stop, standback and assess the progress. We communicated routinely, and they all listened to our thoughts attentively. There were some additions and subtractions from the initial quote and the price impact was agreed upon promptly and fairly. They cleaned up at the end of every day's work which my wife was particularly happy with. Communication was great throughout, and there were no surprises except they surprised me with ways to surpass my expectations with their focus on achieving our goals. I wholeheartedly recommend AOTE for any work, but especially if you are looking for an artful (not slapped together) look.

After recently purchasing a cabin in Donnelly, we hired this company to improve our curb appeal by planting trees and shrubs at the front of the property. All three trees they planted failed to survive the winter, even though it has been less than a year since installation. We immediately contacted the company to request replacement and reminded them that we had paid extra for a warranty. After extensive back‑and‑forth communication, they ultimately refused to honor the warranty and informed us we would need to replace the trees at our own expense. We consulted with another local nursery to understand what may have gone wrong. Once we shared the types of trees that had been planted, they advised us that those species are not suitable for the local climate and should never have been recommended in the first place. This experience reflects poor business practices, a failure to uphold contractual obligations, and a lack of accountability for their work. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue, the agreed‑upon warranty was not honored. We are now left paying out of pocket to correct a mistake that should never have happened. Given that there are many landscaping companies in the valley, this is one we would strongly recommend overlooking.

My existing trees and a lavender plant were very well preserved and I have two very happy dogs frolicking and barking at the neighborhood right now and wagging their tails. This was the best way to honor my late wife who was house proud and if you had seen how much I let it go compared to what you see, the eyebrows would raise. I think my wife would say that I did pretty well in hiring this lot.

Terry has created two absolutely beautiful outdoor living spaces for me. The most recent project…read more(May 2017) she worked on involved moving our hot tub to a different location and building a beautiful surround wall. We also knocked out our concrete patio and replaced it with pavers. In addition to that she designed a beautiful fire pit space with a fire pit that is created from a boulder that uses natural gas (which was piped in) and custom designed built-in benches. Additional trees and shrubs were planted for beauty and privacy. Lastly, we installed a partially covered patio with sun-lights outside our back door. We love to entertain and be outdoors when the weather is nice. Our new outdoor living space is perfect for a casual evening outside, or for entertaining 10-15 people comfortably. We have plenty of seating and space and the fire pit provides great ambiance! We really love it! I would highly recommend Terry/The Garden Artist if you are looking to create something beautiful, unique and custom designed just for you.

I asked Terry if she could re-work it so that it was gorgeous, but make it look 'aged' so that the new plants and trees didn't look so brand new, but instead, could blend with the age of the existing plants.
