I have been on the hunt for my person to take care of my hair. I moved to St Pete almost 5 years ago and I finally found her, Anna-Rose. The salon came recommended by another curly haired curl I met back in February. I found Anna-Rose and watched her work on instagram. Took me 5 months to finally feel comfortable trusting someone new. I liked her work and her passion for her skill and work. I met with Anna-Rose on 7/8/2023 for a consultation. She was so friendly, down to earth, and real. She made me feel comfortable. We talked about my past hair cut bad experiences and what I wanted. I showed her some pictures and she showed me some. We figured out what I wanted and I booked for 7/15/2023. We talked again the day of about what I wanted and she got to work. She was gentle and talked me through what she was doing. I wanted a trim, a soft u-shape cut, with slight face framing pieces. This was the worst haircut I have ever received. My appointment was scheduled for 2pm. I got there early and sat down since no one was at the front desk. A few minutes later I checked in and sat back down. At 2:20pm, I asked if it was going to be much longer. Kenna finally came to get me. Kenna is a nice person, but I did not get what I asked for. Three times she said, "i guess it would help if I put my listening ears on.". My hair was ruined, frizzy and loaded with product. Kenna suggested washing it and cutting again. I did not get out of the salon until 7:08pm. My hair is still not right and I'm not just annoyed, I'm furious. I am a single mom of a college student and thought about getting a curly hair cut for 2 years and finally made the appointment for myself. Lovely and quirky little salon! The staff was very friendly and there was a nice and relaxed vibe throughout. Reasonable priced. I didn't realize when I booked my appointment, but they specialize in curly hair. I have very straight hair, so this concerned me a tad, but all's well that ends well. Traveling from out of state, I was a bit hesitant to trust myself to people I didn't know and might not ever meet again. However, upon finding that Celia was Ouidad trained, I made an appointment. From the time I arrived, I was treated with a wonderful combination of friendliness and professionalism. In addition to a Ouidad cut from Celia, I had also booked an appointment with Amy Joy for semi-permanent makeup to enhance my eyebrows. She took so much time to explain my options, took time to measure and double check, and took extra time to make sure that the results measured up to her standards. Finding out that she is also an artist boosted my trust in her even more,as she has a good eye for balance, color, etc. I actually have eyebrows a After my brows were applied, Celia cut my hair. Like Amy, she took time to listen to my concerns and thoughts prior to beginning the cut. She took her time, and I came away not only with a great haircut, but also some styling tips to help me recreate the look. I highly recommend this salon, and in particular, Amy and Celia. In fact, I have scheduled an appointment for next week for Amy to do my lips, since I will still be here in Florida. I had a follow-up appointment with Amy Joy on the permanent color applied to my lips. I have had some skin damage removed from my bottom lip, which left white scarring that is very hard to apply lip color to and have it stay. I contacted Amy, who arranged another appointment to take a look at the situation. She was extremely gracious and spent much more time than I would have expected. If there's anyone you want to be a perfectionist, it would be the person applying permanent make-up to your face! She is a person with attention to detail and high standards. Being born a strawberry blonde is interesting because often times the rest of your hair is also light colored which would seem fine except for when you're talking about eyelashes and eyebrows.. so if you aren't wearing make-up often times you look washed out or people may asking a concerned way if you are sick. Today I had my first Ouidad hair service by Celia; I am over the moon excited about my entire experience! The entire staff at this salon are so kind and professional. This was my first "curly girl" hair experience as I've gone to my former stylist and a new one in this area and they dealt with my hair straight. Before getting started Celia and I discussed my hair needs and what my objectives were. She listened to my concerns and we went right over for a shampoo. Celia suggested a particular Ouidad cleansing shampoo and suggested a deep conditioning treatment as well. She later applied Ouidad products and styled my hair. I was extremely happy with the results and I purchased some products before leaving. More importantly, I booked my next service which will be Ouidad's Carve and Slice Hair Cut!!!! My husband was extremely happy about my hair and Celia has earned a very loyal customer!!!! Updated tip: June 10, 2016 Today I received an Ouidad Carve and Slice hair cut by Celia and I am very happy with the results!!! The whole vibe of the salon is super friendly and knowledgeable. They do a lot of ongoing training so I don't see how anyone could ever walk out disappointed. Probably the worst pedicure I've ever received and it was $35.00. I may have been in the chair 25 minutes tops. Feet were still rough, cuticles only have trimmed and the "utensils" used were dumped out of paper cup where they, I guess, were being sanitized. She would only take cash which was an unpleasant surprise. I had $40 and the situation was awkward in that she would have had to fish in her purse to produce change; so that was a $40 mistake. My first hair cut in St Petersburg - and I could not be happier. I called for an appointment and the confirmed COVID cautions were being taken. They were 100% right and I felt safe and comfortable. I had an appointment with Edi - she was not fully certified to cut curly hair but as they told me, I would not be disappointed and I was NOT! She was fantastic. My previous cut was with a Diva Curl certified specialist and honestly, Edi was so much better. She took her time, listened to what I am struggling with, she explained what she was doing and did a fabulous job. I love the products she suggested (they had small trial sizes I could try out and didn't try to sell me alot of things) - which are actually better priced and work better than what I used before.
