Do not buy a Kia. They sell you on a 10-year, 200,000-mile warranty, yet my car is now sitting with a blown engine not covered under the warranty with only 64,000 miles on it. Here is what the technician said happened: 'The alternator shaft pulled the threads from the alternator pulley, causing the pulley to come off along with the belt. This damaged the water pump and radiator, which then broke an engine mount and blew the head gasket.' All of that is only covered under the 60,000-mile warranty. So an engine pulley, something that literally turns the drivetrain, is somehow not considered part of the drivetrain? The drivetrain can't turn or function without an engine pulley. You see how they trick you? They are really selling you a car with a 60,000-mile warranty. And honestly, do you really want to buy a brand-new car with 17 miles on it that is effectively only covered for 60,000 miles, especially when Kia is known for using cheap parts? But I did figure out why they say "stay frosty"... It's because they know your engine will be blown and the heater won't work. So,for starters. We purchased a vehicle from them and they told us that it came from them with a six month or 6000 mile warranty, whichever came first there were no questions asked. Luckily, we did go ahead and buy an extended warranty, which I will have to say cost way too much for what it was for only three years. we have literally had the vehicle less than two months and within the first month something goes wrong with it. We took it up to them. They said they fixed it, but apparently they did not. we called him back a week later and told him the car had the same issue and that it needed to be fixed. They told us well. There's nothing we can do because this is not a Ford dealer. This is a Kia dealer and you're going to have to take it to a Ford dealer to get it fixed. I called that bullshit because they work on other vehicles all the time. I'm not an idiot. We go to take it to a Ford dealer thinking that it still should be covered under the 6000 or six month warranty but low and behold they decided no we're going to use the extended warranty and instead of the warranty that was supposed to come with the vehicle. Called up there to ask them why we're being charged a $200 deductible whenever this should be covered under the six month 6000 mile warranty and they said that the part that was the issue which has to do with the motor was not covered under that they only cover power terrain. In power terrain the motor the transmission if I'm not mistaken, that's exactly what that is. Just letting future buys know I would not buy anything from this Kia. They are lying shit. So I have a 2019 Kia Sorrento and I have two recalls on at one for the rear back up mirror back up camera and one for the fuel tank. Roper Kia will not replace the recall on the fuel tank and now it's a chore for them to do the rear mirror. Also, I asked them to do a 60,000 mile on it. They want to charge me $1100 for a 60,000 mile check up on my 2019 Kia Sorrento can't even give me a proper quote with taxes. Warning do not use them. They will bleed you dry they are not worth it. Go to somebody. You know that can do the work right everything is hidden with them all expenses. They let me test the buick and drive it on the road, I noticed the brake isn't holding so I slow down went back immediately. I told my wife we got to go home and never talk to them anymore. TL;DR: service was awesome, culture was positive and welcoming -- We had a massive oil leak in our Sedona and were running through a 5 qt bottle of oil ever 1-2 weeks. Given a few of the signs, it was obviously a recalled part (oil pressure sensor). I took it to Youngblood Kia in Springfield who said it was some complicated thing that would take $1500 in parts and $2000 in labor (but he offered me a 10% teacher discount...). I argued with their diagnosis didn't make sense to me eventually took the van to Roper instead. Within an hour they confirmed it was the recalled part and immediately began replacing it. In the end, I was out six hours of time and the cost of fuel. During the time I sat here waiting, the employees' love of their work-culture has been obvious and everyone more than welcoming. I bought my 2019 KIA Forte new at this dealership. I wanted blue as that was my dad's favorite color and we lost him the year before. The salesman told me the only model that came in blue was the sport model and that it would cost roughly 6 grand more than the standard model. I bought it. Idiot... there is a factory defect in the hood that went unnoticed for awhile and the told me they couldn't fix it as it had been too long. Fast forward to this year, warranty was still active but car was literally falling apart. Vvt valve went out, cam shaft positioning sensor went out, two weeks later the transmission failed completely. Replaced that but also hat to rebuild half the engine as there was a cam shaft pin broken off in it. Next came a new cylinder head... now, the VVT valve and cam shaft positioning sensor are both out AGAIN... It's now over my 100,000 mile warranty and has cost me a ton driving back and forth as I live 48 miles from the dealership. They almost never have loaner cars available and this time told me they would put me in a rental. Dropped me off not telling me that I would have to use my bank card for the deposit. I literally didn't have a dollar to my name. Just got out of the hospital, still very I'll and had no way to do anything! I called them back and was told that it wasn't their problem as it was the rental companies policy! Seriously?!? They said it would be just like it but black and we Could pick it up the next day our paper work was finished . We drive the 2018home went back the next day to pick up our new black one . Well when we got the black one itwas nothing like the red one it had 3,000 miles on it . Very plain no extras which we feel like we paid for . We feel loved ke we were tricked into a different car . Purchased a new Kia Sorrento Limited with a 60,000 mile warranty. 5000 miles and a part fell off the under carriage of the car. Took it into the service dept and after diagnosing the issue they put a screw on the part to hold it instead of replacing the part. 20,000 miles later the part fell again off the under carriage of the car. Took it into the service dept and the service advisor handed me an estimate for $500 to repair the part that fell off claiming it was not under warranty. This dealership is an absolute joke!! I informed the advisor it was their job to replace the part 20,000 miles ago but chose to use screws instead of replacing the part. Now its 25,000 miles later and its now my fault its falling off. After speaking to the guy for 10 minutes and explaining my opinion He used profanity at me and asked me to leave. This dealership does not honor warranty work rather choosing to "repair " rather than replace. Then blame the customer!! Before you come to Raper Kia, let me tell you how the process works. FIRST, it's nearly to look at inventory on their website because before you can even see it they want to know every last freaking detail about you so they can phone stalk you as soon as you log on, send you emails, whatever. As soon as you finally get through that process you can see their inventory but it will not list the prices of the cars. This is where the BS starts. If you call and ask "hey I'm looking online at the 2016 silver blah blah with whatever miles on it can you tell me a price before I come and look at it?" They give you a vague answer "Well they START at X amount of dollars and go all the way to X amount of dollars but COME ON DOWN sales pitch yada yada" Well, you get down there, look at the car, or cars, drive one or two, still, not knowing any prices because THEY DO NOT LIST THEM ON THE WINDOWS. You go inside, they want all of your information to fill out a credit app FIRST, then pull your credit score information, all while insisting they didn't pull any credit, and after about an hour or so of wasting your time only THEN do they come back with a price they made up on the spot depending on what they think they can get out of you. How they stay in business like this beyond me. If I ever in my life buy a Kia, I will drive down to Bentonville and buy one from Fletcher Kia where they don't play these stupid games. I don't mean to rate them so low, but on an overall average, I believe this is a fair assessment. First, the salesman, Josh, challenged me to give him parameters to sell me a vehicle. I setfort lofty expectations... he met or exceeded them all. The only one I didn't budge on was a personal preference I had concerning the step bars for a lifted 2017 F-150. He assured me the dealership would satisfy my desires. I give him 5 STARS for his part. Long story short, we spent over $25 in just gas cost, 2 weekends, 10 hours of our time... all in the time frame of 2 months, to have the stock, chrome step bars ($535, yes I checked) replaced with inferior, painted ones that did NOT meet my request, which probably cost them $300, and the kicker was - they kept the chrome ones, refusing to return them. There's more to the ordeal, but on my departure of the dealership, I informed them I would NOT be returning to that dealership. You would think that someone who has purchased a NEW KIA, & a used pickup in the last 8 months, (totaling over $85,000.oo) might be better treated. I guess we'll never know, because I have instructed the dealership to refrain from contacting me, due to their attitude and words on my last (and final) visit. ................................................. I don't have to have the last word in a verbal sparring, but I feel like I need to correct some false statements and inaccuracies, being posited below, by the (supposed) owner, who responded below. 1st. No type or manufacturers, that I suggested on the step bars, were considered when I was asked for my input. KIA employees informed ME, that they ordered some, that I could try. On our first visit, they put only 1 side on, and after agreeing it was NOT in the parameters set forth, they pulled it off, and reinstalled the stock step... not to mention that the one which they had procured, was damaged. Also, not to mention, they had "double booked" the shop area AND technician, hence, the 3 hours for NOTHING. 2ND. On our second venture to have step bars, which again they ordered on their own, they put on 1 side, and asked for our approval. After viewing it, and being RUDELY castigated by shop worker(s), I told them to just put them on, and I would deal with it later, after being told that the stock steps would be loaded in the bed of my pickup. (LATER REFUSED). The "Complmentery Service " referenced, was to have the 35" tires rotated, after they were balanced, due to a slight vibration noticed during the short, slow test drive, before purchase, and confirmed by the drive home. I was assured that it was not a problem (I DO claim responsibility not getting that in writing). Let me explain the competency of the shop... they pulled the tire off of the pickup , rotated them per my instructions, and replaced them on the pickup. When I asked for the assurance that the tires were spin-balanced, I was told by a technician, "That's NOT my job". Another hour while they took the tires off (AGAIN), balanced them, and reattached them(AGAIN). Upon departure, knowing I was VERY displeased, a manager had the gall to tell my wife how much time and money, the dealership had spent, trying to make us HAPPY. Final outcome: We spent $450 of our time, $25 of our gas, 2 weekends - just so ROPER KIA could trade our stock step bars (which they "already had plans for"), in order to install cheaper (1/2 price) bars. read more

Frustrating. I knew what I wanted, test drove it, liked it fine, knew finance offers, have strong credit, etc., etc., but couldn't get the salesman to take me seriously. He didn't assess my trade-in, didn't write up a quote, didn't run numbers, in general, he seemed to think that I was just window-shopping. It's insulting to not be taken seriously when I've done my research, know my vehicles, know fair-market-values, and am ready to buy. Maybe because I didn't have a man with me? I drove my old car away, and haven't been back. Everyone was kind, and I have to give credit where credit is due - there was definitely no high-pressure tactic. 3 weeks later, not even a phone call or email, so definitely not a naggy kind of experience. Buyer Beware! I too was a bit turned off with the fact that they want your info just to view their inventory but decided to go on and look for myself at the lot. I DID NOT give them my info online. However because I had tried to look they picked up on it somehow and IMMEDIATELY starting "harassing" me with phone calls and emails. Took FOREVER to make the purchase. I was there by 1:00 or so and didn't get out until after 5:00. Had to sign papers that we thought were the real deal only to find out that was all prelim stuff! THEN had to go in to a different guy and sign MORE!! He tried to tell us our payment was $50 more than we had agreed on with the first guy. I THREW A FIT and was ready to leave and he said "Oh, my fault. Let me change some things". FINALLY got done and out of there. NOW I need an odometer statement for my trade in to get my GAP insurance cancelled and they refuse to give me one. I have talked with some lady for the original phone call. Then talked to my salesman about trying to follow up on getting me one. He said the F & I man said I didn't need one just to use my buyers agreement. For 1. I do need one because that is what they are requesting and 2. The other stuff on the buyers agreement is NONE of the Gap Insurance people's business. I have tried to call the F & I man twice only to get voicemail and leave messages that are never returned. I have called again asking for the General Manager and he isn't there and they would give me no # to reach him. Supposedly that last lady I talked to would take care of it. I AM STILL WAITING!! It is nothing to them to type one up. Takes all of about 2 minutes and 1 minute to email to me but they REFUSE to do so. Will never buy from there again. I bought a new Kia hatchback here in 2006 and I'm still driving it with no major issues (2012). I get about 60% of my auto services done here and their prices, for a dealership, are pretty good although in some cases it's not the best price around. When I bought my car, it was a hassle-free experience and I felt valued and respected as a young woman shopping alone...I've been to many other dealerships where I ended up leaving because they treated me in a condescending manner or lost interest when they realized I was shopping in the lower price ranges. It was low pressure, which is why I even wound up buying there. Nowadays the dealership has become a bit more high tech and doesn't feel so personal as it did in '06 but they still tend to be pretty friendly and professional. I would buy another car here in the future and I think that's the best compliment you can really give a car dealership! read more

Just traded in our '13 turbo SX Optima for a new fully loaded hybrid EX Optima. They treated us wonderfully. Now my husband had worked there for 13 months, but I know that wasn't the only reason. I would suggest that you know what ur vehicle is worth and educate yourself on what ur looking for price wise before going in (as with anywhere). I do feel though, for the most part, u'll get the best deal in the area here. I also know from experience and my husbands time there that they take care of their vehicles new and old. They also do their best to try to take care of you and your needs as well, but it is a business trying to make money in a hard time to do so. Finally, not everyone there has the same motives and morals as the companies policy. There are those people there for one reason (to make the most money), and new employees learning how things work and choosing what kind of salesman to be. I was well informed of what market value / trade value on my vehicle were. I got there 9 am didn't get out until after 2pm. I ended up getting a vehicle I was less than thrilled with not that the car was not good just not what I was looking for. But, because my car was a BMW they didn't want to deal if it meant my car was worth more. It's been 3 weeks still no paperwork on my car. They will not respond to my calls. I was told they would run a credit check, they did I have good credit the next day I get an alert my credit had been run by 18 different companies which lowered my score significantly. I asked to talk to someone in management was sent to a voice mail every time until after calling 9 times in a row was given to a person who told me he didn't know anything and would have someone call me back! I have one car and 2 notes to pay now!!!! My credit score dropped!!! I was told they would get close to the interest rate I was paying and my banker pointed out to me that I am paying almost triple what I had originally. Dealer for the people???? I came to Roper Kia to buy a used car. I spoke to someone on the phone before I came in and they sent me a text message with a coupon for $500 off. I thought cool this shouldn't be so bad. I don't have strong credit so I brought my mom as a co signer. When I showed up I told them the amount I could afford monthly and that I wanted a used car. They gave us another 500 coupon. Sales chick said she understood and showed me the car of my dreams. Then after being very verbal of what I could do and couldn't and what I could afford as a down payment, they took me inside to see what we could do. Not one time did I get anything close to what I asked for. Every time we were getting tired of waiting they would come out and say we've almost got it. And so we would wait some more. After hours of having us sit there, they said they couldn't do it without more down. Advised them that it wasn't possible for me. At that point they said they could get me into a 2018 Kia Forte. We had already wasted our entire day there so we just agreed so we wouldn't have another day of this. Still stand firm on what I could afford a month. As they pull me in to sign paperwork they mention that they could get me at exactly what I wanted to pay. It was 141 more then what I wanted. I really feel at this point it had became a high pressure loan. We were tired and worn out and just ready to be done and not have another day of this. We agreed as long as they would pay sales tax. While signing forms was advised that they couldn't get the sales tax included. Also after reviewing my paperwork later found out that I didn't received the 1000 off for the two coupons. To make matters worse, they don't give you a spare tire. Got a flat tire on freeway, tire is done for. Open truck no spare just an air pump. What in the world is an air pump going to do for a shredded tire. Called road side assist where they offered to tow my car to the closest Kia dealership if I wanted to buy a tire. Oh and the spare kit will run you 300 through them. I have never been so disappointed in my life. read more

I will NEVER buy another vehicle from this company. I am sooo disappointed in it. I bought a 2016 new off the lot. First off, the dash display went bad. They said it was going to take a week or so to get it fixed. Had to fight tooth and nails to get a loaner so I could get to work. Had new tires put on my car at Sears; the lights came on after the installation. The super guy at Sears was polite enough to take it to Kia to get it reset, paid for it and the lights are still on. They had to order a sensor for it and still haven't got it in. That was last week. I went to wash it Saturday and now the paint is peeling off the front bumper!! I called today and was told it was not under warranty....You need an extended warranty on the paint!!! What?????? They offered to "LOOK" at it. Well, that's going to do a lot of good!!!! Watch out!!!! I looked online at Roper Kia inventory but had to put in my information (1st clue) to even see what they had to offer. I immediately received a phone call from Roper Kia offering unbelievable savings (2nd clue) if I would come in and test drive a vehicle. I agreed and test drive several vehicles, however, when it came down to wheeling and dealing not one of the incentives they originally offered could be applied to the vehicle I was interested in (3rd clue). So I asked about the GREAT incentive "$5000 over trade-in value" which they also offer in their commercials (straight from frosty's mouth) but that incentive only applies to a selection of new vehicles, which they couldn't tell me which ones (4th clue). The manager gave me the price on the vehicle and seemed offended when I showed him the same vehicle $2000 cheaper with less miles, needless to say he was done dealing with me and wished me luck dealing with the other Kia Dealership . I took my car in a couple of months ago with a leaking tire and they patched it. A few days ago, the low tire pressure light came on again, so when I went in this last weekend for an oil change, I let them know that it had been patched and that it needed checked. When I picked the car up again, I also mentioned again that the tire had been patched and the low pressure light had been on. Everyone there assured me it was fine and it was just the cold. Not even a week later, my tire is so low it won't even register on the pressure gauge. So now we're down a vehicle until we can get it fixed. This doesn't even address the other times that they've said we've needed major repairs (when we didn't) or when we've brought up other problems that they've ignored us about or the fact that they are really pushy about trying to get us to trade in the car every time we're there... I've brought up these issues and they refuse to work with us or even apologize. I will NOT be going back there again. read more
