Great customer service! The service was excellent! They checked my tire pressure and replaced my windshield wipers. They also sell wiper blades if you ever need them. Overall, I'm very happy with the service and the value. I highly recommend Express Auto Repair. They have another location South of Colorado Springs and are opening a new shop near Briargate. They were not the first people I called but I'm glad I went to them. They are a family business who treats you right. Alicia is so kind and friendly. I was so frantic about my situation and scared I was going to be taken advantage of. They helped me out alot. I didn't expect so much to be wrong under the hood. They said it was going to cost almost 2k to get it back up and running properly. I have to admit I was not prepared. I chose to look for a different vehicle altogether because it was not worth putting that much into a 17yr old rust bucket (literally). So they gave me the option to just fix what was needed until I could get the new car. Originally with the initial inspection plus the work which was quoted at $475, I thought I would be paying $600. I ended up paying only $469 for everything! I've been in the springs a little over a year now. There are bad places and good places, I'm learning and finding out that places like Sears don't care about you. My new car will not be getting $20 oil changes, that is just dumb, js. There was a inexplicable disconnect between the text that confirmed my appointment day/time and what they had in the system (?), so they didn't expect me to come in on the day that I did. However they took care of me nonetheless, so I didn't have to reschedule. I liked the pictures and the reports, but I only did a couple of things that needed to be done according to the maintenance schedule, because it sounded overpriced. They took my car in at a convenient time, what I thought it could be, was actually something else that they caught. There was a tech service bulletin on my exact problem. They contacted me and instructed me what to do to be covered by Honda and not deal with fees. I'm glad they caught the issue and saved me some money. Had my car towed in for transmission issues. Got a call it would be $8000. Too much for this older…read morecar so had it paid to tow back. Tow driver put it in wrong place and so I tried to move it and to my surprise it moved fine. Decided to see for myself what they "saw" that would be $8000. Noticed right way that the transmission bolts had not been loosened ever... opened it up and found that the fluid was like jello. That would be because I believe that you should let sleeping transmissions lie instead of changing fluids. Found NO metal connected to the magnet inside the pan. Cleaned out the "gel" and changed fluids filter (changes 50% of fluid in tranny each time). Drove it and changed fluid/filter it again so only 25% of fluid remains. $80/change. That was 5000 miles ago and no issues. So... you know the whole story... you decide about Best Western Transmission. Maybe a transmission shop that actually looks at the transmission is a better option... just maybe... Note I gave them one star because I can't give them zero.

Ed spent close to an hour reviewing my vehicle history and I appreciated it--he really "geeked out"…read moreon the details in a good way. He comes across as one of the last real mechanics--knowledgeable, thorough, and someone I would have trusted to work on my vehicle. His daughter later called to schedule. She said she was a mechanic. I mentioned Ed had spent a long time with me (as a compliment) and asked a follow-up question about how they'd clear out the engine, noting I had a budget. She said she didn't have enough information, which is fine, but the tone felt closed off. I said, "It doesn't seem like you want to engage in the conversation, and that's okay." She called that rude, I repeated it, and she hung up. I went in person to clear things up because I respected Ed's time. Instead, I was told I had insulted his knowledge--which is completely untrue--and was asked to leave, even after apologizing if anything came across wrong. I respect that Ed let her handle it, but the situation was misrepresented and handled poorly. Unfortunate, because my impression of him was very positive. I did walk away with enough information to pursue next steps, and Elite Auto appears equally equipped, so the time wasn't a complete loss. Based on my experience, I'd keep interactions with her limited to scheduling and work directly with Ed for anything beyond that.
