I have been seeing Dr Allison Monroe for several years and appreciate her care and concern. She is…read moreattentive and makes me feel cared for as well as being down to earth and truthful.

TLDR: - It would be easier to have gotten Hamilton Tickets…read moreat the height of its popularity than it was to be a new patient at this office. - A comprehensive rectal exam would've also been more pleasant than dealing with their administration staff. Review: I wish I could say we even had the opportunity to make an appointment; however, buckle up. The receptionist is incredibly rude. She started fairly friendly, but when I mentioned we have healthcare through Covered California, her demeanor immediately changed. In addition to her unkind "I don't have time for you" attitude, the doctors have apparently implemented a new procedure for PPO new patients: go in-person and get the paperwork (no email, fax) with your ID and Insurance card. It will then take the doctors a few days to "review my file" (for what? she wouldn't say.) -- upon asking why this is a separate procedure, she informed me new patients in this insurance often no-show. Bazaar, alright. I let her know I had a more pressing medical matter, to which she reiterated they'll review over a few days and book out a few weeks later; zero compassion, zero care, zero interest. OK. You don't have to move mountains, but even an empathetic "wish we could" would've gone much further. (BTW if you're bored and exhausted reading this - I was bored and exhausted trying to schedule a freaking appointment.) Anyways, I had read good reviews on my insurance provider's site for the doctors, so I pressed on. Maybe she was having an off day. A couple of days later, I send my wife to get the papers to fill them out, then go and return them with our IDs/ insurance cards. Hadn't mentioned anything about my experience with this unhelpful and unkind lady. My wife texts me directly after: "Didn't get the papers. The woman was super rude. I'll find us somewhere else." Apparently, when my wife called and asked for the papers, the woman said she had to pick them up - no problem, she's outside. The receptionist says, "well - you can't come in." OK? I guess it's *also* a rule they won't give the new patient form (online or in-person) unless you also hand over your ID and insurance card at that same time. INSTEAD, we scheduled with Barton Family Medicine (5 stars on Yelp) the same day as this happened, they got us in the same week. Do not recommend Alpine Family Practice.

i had my third PRP facial 2 days ago and my skin looks fine, even wo any make up. At 59 I think my…read moreskin looks pretty good. I dont look 40 or even 50. But I look great for 59. a mani-pedi once a month is what this costs me, and this lasts the yr. so that's a valuable present to myself. The procedure is pretty fast and hardly painful at all, for me. The staff is lovely. Thoughtful and considerate. I only met one person that seemed cold, aloof maybe. Dr Salm did a Mohs surgery on my forehead and did a wonderful job! The scar is barely noticeable. And he said I cud come in and get it lasered for free. But it's so faint it doesn't seem worth the trouble. In addition to his skill, he just seems like the nicest man. The staff that assisted him that day, I can't praise them enough for their genuine care.

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I've had multiple terrible experiences at this office with…read moreseveral providers. The office is old and filthy with the most unsanitary medical practices. I've worked in ski clinics that are cleaner. The provider misdiagnosed my son's skin bumps as warts and was ready to freeze dozens of spots. A second opinion found them to be caused by eczema and his skin was cleared completely with non invasive treatment. I've heard several horror stories of skin samples being tossed in the trash, instead of being sent for biopsy and the list goes on. It's so unfortunate that Tahoe doesn't have better dermatology care!
