Rork has cared for the home we live in for several years, including at the start of the COVID pandemic. Unfortunately, since then, their team (which has been reduced to Keith and Rob) has decided, regarding what Keith refers to as "the so-called pandemic" (now in its delta variant surge) that mask wearing is "not healthy," and refuses to mask in customers' homes. They also assert with minimal promoting that they refuse to be vaccinated. Upon entering our home and being offered a mask, Keith was quick to deliver his message. We are sorry to have to part ways with Rork, but feel it is important for people to understand that they are unwilling to respect customers' minimal, reasonable requests for safe public health practices, and frankly more interested in having an unscientific political debate than in fixing your shower. read more

Too bad there are not zero stars to select. They estimated $430 for a $15 water intake valve replacement. The average repair price for this type of service is $120. I bought the replacement part at Lowes for $15 and installed it in 20 min. Come to find out, their diagnosis was wrong and it wasn't the issue. The issue was a leaking tank floor screw gasket. I can only surmise that they misdiagnose in order to repair and then add on additional repairs. A few days later I received a thank you card with biblical quotes related to 'repentance'. I called Keith Rork and was very quiet and polite explaining my experience. He is a nasty, unstable man yelling so many accusations at me I lost count. His only explanation for egregiously inflated prices was the cost of doing business he passes to the customer. He said he talked to "people like me" all the time, so evidently he gets a lot of complaints. I requested my $50 service call fee back for the misdiagnosis, to which he laughed. Quoted me nearly $1,200 for a job which costs less than half that through another plumber. They wanted to charge $90 for a p-trap which costs $3 and takes two minutes to install. $50 just to give a quote. They want to "build a relationship", but you can't do that just by pushing a service plan and quoting religious scripture. read more

Not sure why these reviews are so low, plumbing is an expensive business, the parts that are needed don't come cheap and anyone who has a little bit of a sense of this industry would know that. We had to get a commercial sump pump installed - the service was great and the protection plan that people are talking about includes labour and parts FREE under the warranty. Rork plumbing's pricing is outrageous. They wanted over $600 to replace an outside water spout not including the price of the spout. I refused. Don't bother calling them because you will still have to pay the $50 home visit. read more

This could easily turn into a ten page feminist rant about how this company tried to take advantage of my roommate and I, but chances are if you're looking for a plumber then all you need are the facts (and quickly). 1. These guys wanted to charge me $600 to replace my kitchen faucet and $350 to replace my bathtub faucet, claiming they were simply too old. My condo was built in 2004. 2. They claimed my garbage disposal was just jammed, even though it wasn't making any noise, and that they could fix it for $175. 3. When the 'un-jamming' didn't work, they wanted to charge me $650 to replace the thing. I fought with the owner about the $175 charge, paid the man a $50 service call fee, bought the same garbage disposal for $150 and installed it myself. Sure, it took me several hours over three days and a few phone calls to more qualified individuals, but I saved some serious cash and boosted my badass female quotient. You're better off doing it yourself then calling these guys. Unless you're rich, in which case, I'm single. read more

I was quoted $421 for a leak under the bathroom sink. I thought that was crazy so I decided to fix it myself. I asked the plumber how long it would take and he said about two hours. One hour and $8 later I fixed it myself!!!! The sink is as good as new and I have no plumbing experience! Anyone who writes a good review for this company must work for them. This place is an absolute joke, they wanted to fix a leak in my piping that leads into the water heater for $500 plus. If you go to Lowe's and search water heater, you can find that a new system minus installation can cost as much as $500. I guess these geniuses just bank on the uneducated customer to shell out easy money. Their plumbers probably make more than the average doctor or lawyer, times are good I guess. However, check out this value deal that will make one scoff at the Mcdonald's dollar menu. A whole new water heater, installed by this scam of an operation will cost over $1700. I was seriously hoping it was really in rubles. In my personal professional opinion, I believe their business model revolves around collecting $50 quotes. Or perhaps, they scintillate themselves over the sadistic pleasure of a victim's shock over the intended quote. All seriousness, don't go here unless you enjoy getting quotes that shake you by the ankles. I'd rather put my own balls in a salad chopper than contract their service. Rork plumbing! I live in Wayne, have used them before, but all the reviews are right. They offer a protection plan for $199. So it went way up, having company this weekend so needed toilet that was leaking, pulled & reset ( their words) quoted $426!!! Unreal paid 50$ service fee which is stupid but oh well, not calling them ever again. It's so weird cause a lot of these bad reviews were from3 or so years ago, nothing recent, would think the owner would change policy's or pricing, but not the case, same "rip off " is still the name of there game read more

My wife called Rork to install a kitchen faucet. They were here approximately one hour. I came home to discover they had charged her $500....and we supplied the faucet ! Called two other plumbers and both gave estimates of $120 for the job. Was told by Keith that extra work was required and wife had agreed to price beforehand. I said I understand paying for extra work but four times the standard charge for an extra half hours work ??!! Said I thought double the standard charge ($250) was a more reasonable amount. Spoke several times with Keith but would not reduce charge. Cannot complain about the quality of the work they do, but cannot say the same regarding their business ethics. read more

Might not be the cheapest, but they do really good work. On time, clean and professional. They have replaced my hot water heater, a utility sink and re-plumbed my tricky business water lines. I felt confident I was getting done what was needed to be done. Everything has held up really well over the years with no problems. To the extra service warranties? I just said "No thanks" when I thought it didn't matter. You can do that, you can say "No thanks". Nobody was pushy. As to the religious stuff, they do have some bible quotes on some things. I first called Hutzel in Ann Arbor and asked if they do Ypsilanti. They said yes, put me on hold for 10 minutes and then told me they start charging for professional time as soon as the truck leaves Ann Arbor. So I resorted to the phonebook and called Rork. The phone interaction was excellent. They were able to come sooner and there was no location penalty. They charged me $230 to replace a simple part under my sink. The journeyman plumber and his apprentice were professional and personable. I have no idea what the going rates are for this kind of work. They tried to get me to sign up for a service (protection) plan which I considered to be a bad deal, like most such. Afterwards I received materials in the mail intended to be ingratiating but which included religious propaganda I could have done better without. read more

WOW just got scewed by RORK Plumbing said they would come out and determine what was wrong with our submergable sewage pump and charge a $50.00 fee. Well that turned into them saying it will now cost $450.00 to open it up and look at it. Funny didn't the $50.00 cover that. Husband just paid him the $50.00. I called them back and it would be nice if you advised that you cannot open the damn thing unless we charge you another $450.00. So thank you RORK PLUMBING FOR GIVING IT TO ME!! read more

This company is a completely rip-off. They feed on those who cannot, would not, or dare not do it themselves. Plumbing is not rocket science, folks. Charging obscene amount of money for a simple fix is not nice. Pushing a service plan is even worse. Stay away from this company at all costs. I think I just got seriously suckered by them. I'm so annoyed. We just paid $643 for a service plan and to replace a bathtub handle and cartridge. I looked these up and they really only cost $150 total. They do a great job and are very courteous - but OMG I just wasn't planning on spending that much money today, especially as I now remember that the last time this happened I just replaced the handle by myself and the total cost was $25. We are in a family crisis and just couldn't deal with it ourselves, but that's when you can get suckered into stupid stuff! read more

They sent someone out very quickly for my non- urgent toilet gasket. It just keep letting a small amount of water leak into the bowl, which can add up to a lot of water wastage and high water bill. They came out and the good part is they have a truck with parts. The company charges a service fee that is not charged. Next the service person tried to sell me a Universal Service plan for 159 dollars to decrease the service cost from 229.93 dollars to 205.29 dollars. they also tried to sell me a toilet tank rebuild whic would cost 427.14 dollars. I have had this done by another plumber for 75 dollars, but he was not available this week, so I called Hutzel Co that I have used befor and the cost will be 100 dollars. I had to pay Rorks call fee,but I knew they were charging me a ridiculous amount for this repair, so I sent them away and told the technian to let his boss know what I felt about their prices and tactics. My advice is never use this company. This was the Ann.Arbor branch. They should receive a ZERO. for ripping people off and doing it out any shame. TERRIBLE!,!!! This review is only the first thing I am going to do to get the word out about how horrible this company is. I called them for an estimate to replace an existing natural gas line to my detached garage, about 100 ft. They gave me an estimate for $10,000. I am not kidding. I have the estimate here in hand if anyone wants to see it. I am a women and I believe that they were trying to take advantage of me and based on the first review here I believe that to be true. I got several more estimates and I will have the line replaced for less than $1,000. They tried to up charge me ten times that. I will be writing the company to ask for my $50 back for the estimate fee because there is no way that was a legitimate estimate. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! read more

I wish that I have read these reviews prior to calling Rork they quoted me a price of $50 a foot to run a gas line which is ridiculous
