The food was absolutely amazing, ordered the specials carnitas only made on Saturday and they were fantastic!! 10/10 recommend if you're having dinner there on Saturday, the micheladas are great!! The service was great as well, everyone was extremely patient and welcoming during our dining experience. The restaurant is a bit small but the ambiance was great, the music the vibe everything was perfect. Listening to the music coming from the kitchen I was practically dancing in my seat enjoying a great meal.

Stopped by for a quick to-go order on the way to Yosemite. There is a to-go window you can order from inside, along with a few tables for dine in as well past the window. They also do have a bathroom in the back, which is nice. We ordered the areial style supremo burrito with beef. I didn't know it was actually a wet burrito until opening the box, but it was still good! There was a decent kick or spiciness, but I would still rank it as a solid mild. There was a good amount of fried jalapeños, which was nice. I do wish there was slightly more meat and a larger burrito. It also came with chips and salsa on the side.

Food was ok Carnitas was dry. The chips and salsa were the best part of the meal. Service was a miss! asked multiple times for water and they said ok, but we did not receive any. Thanks!

Heading back back to the Bay Area, from Tuolumne Meadows, Groveland is a convenient stop to stretch your legs and get a bite to eat. It's usually hard to go wrong with Mexican and, so, decided to give Cocina Michoacana a try. I noticed they had a few vegetarian items and went with the potato tacos. They came as a plate with rice and beans and I was offered black beans rather than refried, which was a thoughtful ask. Food came out quick and service was attentive. The taco plate was plenty of food after a long day of hiking. They're a little pricey but that's just life all over these days. They kept the beverage refills coming and I left feeling fueled up for the rest of the drive home. Cute interior but a little dark. It was hard to read the menu. Street parking seemed limited but I did notice a few municipal lots nearby. It's a blink and you'll miss it type spot, but well worth seeking out as you're driving through Graceland.

Really good Mexican lunch! We tried the enchiladas, tostada, and tacos and all three of us were super happy with the dishes. Salsa yum -beans check- being raised in LA I love good Mexican food- this hit the spot. The pork and green sauce enchilada was super good- tad salty but I was happy! Give it a try- the steak dishes also looked very good.

$19 Tiny little chile rellano burrito in flimsy casing. It fell apart as soon as I opened it and spilled sauce all over.

Well, this is my last time coming to this place. $19 for a chile rellano burrito that is as tiny as a Taco Bell bean and cheese burrito. Unbelievable. Just because there have been a bunch of people from the San Francisco Bay Area that have bought homes in Groveland doesn't mean you can charge San Francisco Bay prices. The rent is like quadruple there. Heck, everywhere I go in San Francisco doesn't charge this much for a burrito. Good luck, you'll need it when the market crashes and all these rich folks lose their jobs.

We came here several times while staying in Yosemite Lakes campground, and couldn't get enough! We're from Texas, and eat Mexican/Tex-Mex at least weekly, and I'll attest this is as good as any. And it's a super friendly family operation making "mom's recipes", including some weird-but-delicious concoctions for you to try! Highly recommend.

I read other reviews from Yelp re how this place was the "it" place to eat... I think most forgot to put "it place for the town." If you've have had the opportunity to have eaten good authentic food, then sadly this isn't it. It was okay for the family to eat that night but it was just okay. The place was super cold, their AC was on full blast of just fair warning! Staff was friendly and prompt. My fajitas was just okay... and the same goes for the rest of what my family had. Plus, they were extremely overpriced. I don't quite know why but again, fair warning. We were all shocked at the cost of our dinner... lesson learned.

We said no and placed our order The agua fresas are not authentic and are tasted like powder mix. Chicken flautas are very dry and came with some old avocado on the side. Chicken mole was delicious- the chicken was very tender. My fish tacos were excellent and packed with flavor. The server asked if I wanted to upgrade to flour tortillas but didn't tell me how much it was. After we ate, the guy helping us said "ready for the check?". I was disappointed that he didn't ask us if we wanted dessert. We paid and left. Shortly after, I thought "why was my total before tax and tip $86 instead of $71??". Idk how much the up charge for flour tortillas was, but it definitely couldn't have been $15, and if it is, shame on them (after all they charge you for chips and salsa, and double the charge if it's to-go). No clue if they added someone's drink to my total but very annoying. This is the first time I've ever been over charged. Everything here in general is overpriced unfortunately.

What a hidden gem!…read more While everyone is rushing to the oldest salon across the street, this nice restaurant at the first floor of the hotel is relatively empty and we were quick to snatch our table for a Friday dinner. Service was a bit slow but pleasant, totally a small town ambiance without the rush. The decoration was cozy with a full size bar and you see the hotel's front desk lounge from across. The menu is amazing with good quality and reasonable prices! Their top 2 dishes are the Little Rooster and the Wine & Bone Ossobuco. The Little Rooster was beautifully stacked on in layers of pistachio-crusted chicken breast seared in EVOO with prosciutto, mozzarella, over creamy red potato mash and topped with apple vinaigrette salad. The taste was so complex and the chicken was so juicy that I couldn't believe it's the chicken breast. The prosciutto in the middle came as a nice surprise (I did not read the menu but was captivated by the dish when a waiter was delivering it to another table) and the portion and taste puts it well above the price tag of $25. I was so elated biting into it. The Wine & Bone Ossobuco in contrast is slightly less satisfying as the meat portion was smaller than what I used to get, but we are paying $30 here vs $45 in the Bay Area. The taste is consistent to what a wine braised ossobuco is. We also tried the wagyu burger that came with a red looking sauce that I thought was spicy but it was actually sweet and sour and had a good balance for the burger patty. The personal size salad was also good in taste and size. Overall we couldn't stop talking about the food for our entire weekend trip to Yosemite. It looks like they have an extensive beer, wine and cocktail menu as well. I strongly recommend this place!

We had stopped by the highway, where the view of lush greenery and rolling hills was nice. I approve! It was nice to sit on the patio watching the passing cars, and the tarp above us provided pleasant shade from the sun. My daughter and I shared the Biscuits and Gravy with scrambled eggs and sausages. The homemade biscuits were buttery and flaky--absolutely delicious. My partner and her daughter shared either a skillet or an omelet; I don't quite remember since I didn't take a picture. Regardless, we were all satisfied with our meals and ready to continue our adventure. The service was friendly and efficient. I didn't even get to check out inside the restaurant. Was there an inside? A quick tip: you'll need a key to access the restrooms. I noticed several people walk over only to discover the door was locked, so I made sure to ask for the key. According to their website, this place has a fascinating history--it once served as a miner's supply store before becoming a hotel. All of us ordered different burgers with a side of our choice. I had the hot and spicy burger which was topped with jalapeño, pepper jack cheese and salsa. It was not that spicy but had good flavor. The salsa was a bit messy so I probably wouldn't get it again. For my side I had the sweet potato fries and wish they were more crispy. I enjoyed the regular fries off my husband's plate more. I also had a taste of the coleslaw which was also good. The burger itself was cooked well but not dry. We all shared the cheesecake for dessert which was thick and creamy just as you expect.
