    Mango and Coconut gelato
    Eloy Y.

Established in 1870, Andrea Rosa offered "home-delivered meals" for the Venetian palaces and villas. Today, spread across six generations, Rosa Salva is a renowned pastry shop situated near the Basilica dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo in the Castello district of Venice. This establishment offers a variety of traditional Venetian pastries, including bignè filled with zabaglione cream, Cannolo Siciliano, and pistachio croissants as well as homemade gelatos. My partner, our friends, family member, and I arrived in the mid-afternoon on a Sunday after our visit to Murano and the gondola ride nearby for some sweet treats. The outside terrasse was busy in the late morning and early afternoon, but beware of the pigeons. Some of us went inside and unfortunately didn't see much of a selection. Instead we opted for some gelatos such as mango & coconut , strawberry and lemon, and mango. All accompanied a nice wafer. They were good and fulfilled our needs. The price was comparable to the area. The staff was not welcoming as they need to be a bit motived. A real shame for a place that has a long tradition in Venice.

Excellent lunch, cakes & pastries This beautiful bakery has a gorgeous display of cakes and pastries and plenty of delicious hot lunch options too. We shared a risotto with a side of vegetables, creme caramel and tiramisu and it was all delicious. We also had 2 cappuccinos - which we thought were a little bitter and watery. Note that It is a bit pricey if you sit down. We noticed that the locals would eat their lunch sitting down and have their coffee and cake standing up.

    Delizioso!

Absolutely delicious pastries and a lovely experience overall! We stopped in unexpectedly and it was wonderful. We got a tin of the liquorice candies to take as a souvenir.

Terrible, terrible customer service. Rude cashiers. Terrible pastries- old, they keep them for days. There are better bakeries in Venice.

A comfortable and enjoyable place for a coffee or snack. In this out of the way location near the hospital do not expect many tourists.

Gelateria CA' D'oro - Dark chocolate daily special flavor - soooooo good!

If you're looking for exceptional gelato in Venice, make your way to Gelateria Ca D'Oro. A local…read morechef told us it's one of the top three gelato shops in the city, and after one visit, I can see why. The difference is immediately noticeable. The ingredients taste incredibly fresh, natural, and high quality, allowing each flavor to shine without being overly sweet or artificial. Every bite was rich, creamy, and exactly what authentic Italian gelato should be. One piece of advice: eat it fast! We happened to visit during the record-breaking heat wave, and our gelato started melting almost the moment it was handed to us. Not exactly a complaint, just proof that this is the perfect treat on a scorching Venetian afternoon.

Excellent gelato and genuinely friendly service…read more Dennis was our server and he could not have been nicer or more helpful. I asked for recommendations and his were all on point, including the changing daily special flavor. Today's was dark chocolate and it was the best gelato we have had on this multi city Italian tour, and Venice is city #10 on this tour for us! In fact it was so good my family of four went back after dinner for a second helping and to try other flavors. We experienced the same fast and friendly service from Dennis, and the same outstanding quality and deliciousness from the gelato. Highly recommend grabbing gelato here for anybody visiting. You will not regret it!

So, I was super excited to stumble across this self serve gelateria close to the Rialto Bridge The shop is shiny and modern, especially in such a historic town as Venice. The staff are helpful and offer tasting of the gelato if you're not sure which flavour to choose. They haven't quite figured out using small sample cups yet, so you get a generous helping of samples They had 12 flavours on offer, a mixture of creamy gelatos and fruity sorbets. Both were amazing, especially considering they came out of machines. My fear that they'd taste like soft scoop ice cream proved unfounded. I chose a refreshing zingy tangerine sorbet and the girlfriend went for decadently luxurious vanilla They offer paper cups in 2 sizes as well as waffle cones and cups To finish off your creation, they offer a wide mix of sweet toppings, sauces and preserved fruit. Some fresh fruit might be a good addition for them to consider Payment is by weight. For our full small bowl, we paid 3.95 Euros

Amazing place. The only self-serve geletaria I found in Italy, but it's the only one I'd ever need…read more I wish there was a place like this in the states. There were tons of flavors and even more toppings. They even had a whipped cream dispenser that was to die for. The milk flavor was especially good. I didn't care for the berry syrup(?) that I tried but my boyfriend was fond of it. The decor was really cool, everything in the store was white and everything added to the atmosphere of the store. Very clean and the employees were very nice and both spoke some english. Reasonable prices, about what I'd expect to pay a self-serve frozen yogurt place in America. Both my boyfriend's and my gelato was around €7. If I could take any piece of Italy home with me, it would be this geletaria.
