I only had one experience here but it left an impression. I was with my ladies Bible study group and one member ordered their steak. It came terribly overcooked, and when she complained they did nothing to make it right, they didn't replace it nor comp her bill. I felt that was the epitome of poor customer service so I've never returned. As for my meal I have no complaints. It was your usual "pizza place" cheeseburger and fries. Okay, no issues, but also nothing that made it stand out. There is a nice ambiance to the dining room and it would make a great "date night" restaurant. I won't say thumbs down because nowadays customer service is shaky almost everywhere, but luckily I have choices so I choose to spend my money where people know what customer service means. Great spaghetti and meat sauce lunch. portions are so large be ready to take some home. I was seated promptly after arriving 5 minutes after they opened for lunch. My prder was taken promptly with my drink and fresh hot bread and butter delivered to the table while I waited for my spaghett. The only improvement I could suggest would be having the person who delivered the food to the table take off the black latex food prep gloves he was wearing first. Love the food. We go here often and love to try different kinds of pizza. We love the margherita and white pizza. Their pasta dishes are excellent. Young staff but very friendly. 2.5 Stars = In between "Meh. I've experienced better" and "A-OK". Price: I think everything is overpriced. The lasagna and manigot are $12 and it's a small serving. Entrees do come with a salad and bread. I think a bigger serving of the main dish with less bread would ring in $12. However, this serving should be like $10... Stromboli as well was overpriced. I got the steak Stromboli...and it tasted like frozen steak-umm meat vs actual sizzle/skirt steak. So again, $12 for frozen steak meat isn't too appealing for me personally. Portion Size: I kinda touched on this above. I wasn't too blown away by the size we received knowing the charge. I think it should be $1-$2 cheaper. The Stromboli is massive (they may have given me a calzone because it looked more like a calzone), but again $12 for steak-umm tasting meat is just eh. Pizza: I ordered the Margherita and was not too thrilled with the mutz. They looked like little cheese pepperonis. I even peeled some off my slice and it stayed stuck together. Didn't seem like they used fresh (wet) mutz on the pie. It seems like it was precut, frozen, and then put on the pizza. I'm used to the mutz spreading out a bit on my marghertia pizza, not peeling off intact like pepperonis. Sauce (Gravy): The marinara sauce was good. I was disappointed they don't have vodka sauce. Service: I ordered take out, but my brief interaction with staff was fine. They were friendly, informative, and helpful. No complaints at all. The girl who answered my call was polite and my order was correct, despite us having connection issues. She had lots of patience. I keep reading yelp reviews about this being the "best Italian food" in the area and it probably is. I'm 110% spoiled coming from Northern Jersey, but this place isn't bad...just a little too pricy for my liking. I'm used to getting the same portion sizes with a little more flavor for a cheaper price back in Jersey City/Hoboken. With that being said. I would for sure skip out on the Margherita pizza. That was the biggest disappointment. It's such a simple pizza where the sauce and the mutz should shine, and that didn't happen here. For the other items...maybe I would dine in rather than take out. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very cozy. So not exactly 2 stars, but not quite 3 for me. That does NOT mean you should not try this place. I'm coming to find that my palate does not match those in the area...so this is just okay to me, but this may be "amazing" to you. Again, no issues with service. Food was just alright. Great food...best Italian food in the area...but don't even try phoning ahead on a weekend evening. Super busy...I get that...but even if you're able to get through and someone answers...they immediately place you on hold and never come back on the line...!!! At least get me in the queue by having the courtesy to come back on the line and take my order. Kept trying while driving from Hagerstown to Chambersburg....three times they answered and placed me on endless hold...so when I got to Chambersburg...I went somewhere else....lost sale this evening...needs MAJOR improvement...!!! I don't know if it's "Fabulous" but it was a good pizza. I dropped in having not placed an order on the phone and the kid at the counter took my order. He managed to upgrade me from small to medium and he didn't seem especially pleased when I wasn't interested in putting a tip on the slip when I paid before the pizza was ready. But it was eventually ready fifteen minutes later and so I put a dollar in the jar and took my pizza to go. Barbecue chicken isn't really "barbecue chicken" - it's chopped cooked chicken and barbecue sauce. Not too sweet but a good amount of chicken on here and not too much barbecue sauce to overwhelm. It was quite a large pizza and so half of it went into the office the next day where it was just as good cold. I'd definitely visit Rosalie's again. Friendliest people, so glad to support a family business. Calamari was nicely crisp. Love the beer battered fries. Large portions in the pasta entrees- enough to have a second meal. The bread is fresh and delicious and makes the sandwiches extra good. My one experience wasn't a great one. We were a large party, but we waited until 98% of our party was present before being seated. We were waiting on 2 more people to arrive but that was no excuse for the long wait for someone to bring menus. We obviously irritated our waitress when we requested separate tickets, but it wasn't a family thing, it was a group thing. One in our party ordered a steak, not sure if she ordered it medium or well, but it doesn't matter because it arrived charred! The steak was charred and whatever was on top of the steak was charred! You would think that the cook would have been too ashamed to send something out like that, but indeed not! The person didn't send it back because we had already waited a ridiculous amount of time for our food, so she expected to show them at checkout and be rectified. But NO! She was offered a "to go" box for her charred food which the presumed manager referred to as, "well done" and charged full price for her food! I have never eaten there since! The food is only so-so. We were a large group so we had a variety of food options on the table, and as a spouse of a career food service manager, you can taste that all the fried foods come from some food service company. Nothing you can't get at any other pizza place. It is nice inside, very quaint. But that whole steak interaction and refusal to admit fault (IT WAS VISIBLY CHARRED AF) and charging my friend full price just left me sour on them. The Italian wedding soup is AMAZING, the breadsticks are really good (think more long, skinny role), and the service is excellent. First time going in, and our waiter was friendly, patient, and not at all pushy. He seemed downright eager to answer any/all questions. They do NOT have sweet or sweetened tea (sorry, southerners) but have Coke products. I had the spaghetti with meat sauce, a salad, and cup of the Italian wedding soup. My companion had Alfredo with chicken/broccoli and her salad, breadsticks were came with. Their noodles were good, and while I did not care for the red sauce (too sweet for me), my companion thought it quite tasty. We both agreed the soup was excellent. I had recently been to another Italian restaurant that offered any soup except Italian wedding (which is 1 of 3 soups I like -- being the picky eater that I am), so I was excited to try Rosalie's soup. My companion loved her Alfredo and we both thought the salads/bread to be delicious. The couple at the next table had a pizza and dinner salad- the dinner salad looked huge, probably half again bigger than the last Cracker Barrel one I got. Price wasn't bad, staff were friendly, place was clean, and the noise level was low- even without my hearing aids, I could clearly hear my companion. Me and my friends went in here for some dinner I got a Buffalo chicken pizza, and a ceaser salad. The salad was amazing, then the pizza came out with a pond on top of just poured hot sauce and ranch in circles if you would've tilted the tray it all would've came right off the top. It wasn't even edible. They noticed the issue and just ignored the fact that it wasn't even being eaten and we paid and went about our day. 1/10 do not eat here. $35 as well for pizza and salad OUTRAGEOUS. read more

Probably the best Italian food in the region. However, the service was poor. We arrived on a Friday afternoon at 16:45. Drink orders placed. 17:01 drinks arrived. We ordered appetizers and a pizza. No food arrived until 17:38. All the food arrived together. No manager assessed our waiting situation. When we arrived, there was one other table occupied. By 17:30, it was a full house. The owner/manager was occupied showing a waitress a magic trick. The other waitresses were busy showing each other tattoos. The owners spouse was busy hurrying the sole pizza cook to cook, faster. Gordon Ramsay would have had a field day. This establishment has the brand, the quality, and the esthetics. Too bad they don't have the direction. My point is to say, order out. (Although your eat-in portions are much larger). The food is excellent and reminiscent of NY Pizzeria's. I'd be willing to try again to see if the management is open minded to this review. I removed my two star review since I gave it another try. Had the exact same meal and this time it was excellent. Spaghetti was as good as it gets. Bread was good although not warm. Salad was made with fresh ingredients. The manager had asked me to stop in and talk to him after I left a two star review, but I am not looking for a benefit from a bad review other than an improvement in quality. Rosalie's has the best subs in the Chambersburg area! I can't review many items at Rosalie's because I am so enamored with their subs. They're a bit on the pricey side, but the quality is evident. The bread is fresh (try it toasted), the vegetables are fresh, and the meats have a very distinct smoky flavor. Their creamy italian and Paris dressings (a bit like italian dressing, only sweeter) are both excellent. We usually order a basket of their french fries on the side as well, which are also great (very crispy). Service has always been excellent here as well. My Dad lives right down the street and Rosalaie's is our local go-to spot for dinner. The food is always delicious and the service is normally pretty good. We were there on Saturday night, it wasn't busy when we were seated. It took 45 minutes to get our food, and another 10 minutes for our son to get his pizza. The server wasn't apologetic, but after communicating with management after the fact, they made it right. Hopefully, it's just a one-off and we love supporting our local restaurants! read more

SO GOOD! I just went to this place last week and ordered the Cheesesteak sub. This is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had and Philadelphia couldn't have done it better.
