***** Best place to eat in Denver City **** Awesome Mexican food over all Denver City is a small Texas Oil town struggling to keep up with the flourishing New Mexico neighbors-- Hobbs, Artesia and Carlsbad. There are NOT a lot of eating out options in town outside a few fast food places (McD's, DQ, Sonic, Subway & Pizza Hut). Rosa's came highly recommended by a local teacher, I have to tell you, this is a WONDERFUL place! Arriving on Saturday evening, the parking lot was PACKED. We were seated immediately in their large dining room. Right away I noticed Rosa's offers quite a few things you may never see in other Mexican places--grilled catfish, a Mexican chopped steak with Mexican gravy/sauce, and others. There also is a unique enchilada cooked in a green chili sauce (think gravy, not salsa). One other different thing-- I don't recall seeing anything made from Pork on the menu. You may want to start your first visit with Rosa's Special, practically a sampler of every traditional item you usually order from a Mexican place. They are perhaps 3/4 size, but we're talking 6-7 different items on your plate. The salsa was as good as my own home made, which is to say it is the BEST salsa I've enjoyed in a Mexican restaurant anywhere. Recapping-- Five Stars for being the BEST restaurant in a town with few dining out options. Come on Yelpers, make Rosa's famous.

Hair in my food and they didn't give me my money back. I do not recommend eating here, not sanitary.

Love their cheese enchiladas, burritos, & quesadillas. Good service. Good old-fashioned Mexican food. Delicious salsa & chips.

This restaurant was recommended to me by two ladies who work at nearby Sissy's…read more I really wanted to give Ranchero's Restaurant 5 stars, but it fell short on June 20, 2026, for a couple of reasons. PITFALLS - at checkout I was charged the wrong ticket but the waitress already swiped my card... I just wish they would bring the ticket to the table or at least ask us what we had when we pay - they left several tables dirty for long periods of time. The table that seated large party that left as we came still hadn't been cleaned entirely by the time we exited the restaurant FOOD + Celia's plate ($11.99) - comes with 2 enchiladas (cheese with green sauce) and 2 flautas (I ordered one chicken and one beef. The beef was shredded. It was tastier than the chicken. + Gordita plate ($12.99) - my daughter got mixed up and ordered this by accident but she said it was still good. Bean and cheese gorditas. + Regular enchilada plate ($11.75) + 3 iced horchatas ($4.50 each) - I loved their horchata! But they gave me a Styrofoam cup (per my to-go cup request) that looked someone bit the top off of. SERVICE Friendly yet slow at times. AMBIANCE This is probably the nicest most tastefully decorated restaurant in Denver City, TX. Pop music filled the air. World Cup coverage was on at least one TV. The women's restroom was small but clean. Look for the light green building and a red tin top with a pumpjack next door. RATING BREAKDOWN (4 stars overall) Food: 4 | Service: 4 | Ambiance: 4 | Price: 4

Seriously the BEST place I have been to in Texas. They truly deserve their "Authentic Mexican Food"…read moresign out front. The restaurant is decorated nicely with Mexico's infamous bright colors. The waitress was absolutely amazing. She answered our questions and even gave suggestions. Rice and Beans: its difficult to find a GOOD place here in Texas with retried beans that don't taste like they're coming from a pre-made can/bag. They had a nice consistency and booming with flavor. The rice was incredible! Most places fail with the rice because they're over salted, mushy, or undercooked. T.J.'s rice was fluffy and nice orange color. Truly authentic Mexicano rice. I had the asada tacos which were really good. The meat wasn't tough to chew. The only thing I didn't like was the fact the tacos weren't individually put on the plate. They laid out four of the double stacked tortillas almost like a deck of cards and poured the meat across. I had to basically prepare the tacos myself. They also had a lot of grilled onions, but next time (if I'm ever in this part of Texas again) I know to ask for easy onion. The only thing they could work on is their tamales. The masa tasted almost sweet, too sweet for a meat filled tamale. Overall: Highly recommend! Service: A+ Food Quality: A Ambiance: A+

Rancho Grande - as Yelp currently has it titled - is actually called Jimenez Rancho Grande…read more This Mexican restaurant is not on the main roads going into Lovington, NM, so folks unfamiliar with this area will sorely miss out if they don't already know about it. I'll get to my CONS out of the way: - limited hours on Saturdays & Sundays (6:00 AM - 2:00 PM) - credit card fee of 3.5% and I did NOT see this posted at the register - No buffet on Saturdays - chips and salsa are NOT complimentary ($6.99) My daughters and I came here for lunch for a girls day out before Mother's Day 2026 since we were spending time with family on Sunday. My dish: Tacos a la Parilla ($14.99 for 3 soft tacos with grilled brisket, guacamole, jalapenos, onions, tomatoes) served with rice and beans. Absolutely delicious. I would get this again. My oldest daughter also had a brisket taco plate ($14.99) but the crispy variety without jalapeno or pico de gallo. My youngest daughter opted for a cheeseburger ($13.89) with fries ($2.00). If those weren't fresh hand-cut fries I would be surprised. They were yummy. Slightly crisp. Not too oily. The burger I would have eaten all by myself with its buttery fluffy buns. This is a close first place for burgers in Lovington with Lazy 6 being its competition. Their horchata was divine ($4.25 × 2). My youngest was happy with her sweet tea ($3.75). Loved the vibes inside. The ceilings and lighting fixtures were very interesting. Not overly decorated. Good Mexican music playing at a good decibel. All of the staff members we interacted with were friendly. Restrooms and parking were good. I'll be a repeat offender.

Yummy! If your ever in the area and are looking for some good Mexican food then head on over here!…read more We waited about 15 minutes on a Saturday around lunch time to get seated. People were coming and going. Our server came on over right away, took our drink orders, and brought over some chips and salsa. The chips were delicious and the red salsa was so good! We were a party of 5 and we all decided to try something different. We ordered: One caldo de res (with rice) One menudo (w tortillas) One order of the chicken flautas (salad, guacamole) One mixed fajitas (rice and beans) One order of the Carne Asada tacos (beans) One order of tacos de alambre (rice and beans) Two Mexican sodas, one lemonade, one Dr. pepper Our total came out to be $73. Our food came out one by one and so we all ate at different times. The food though was delicious! The menudo is great and I loved that it was cooked well. The tacos de alambre are seasoned perfectly and the meat is super juicy. The chicken flautas were stuffed with chicken and they were perfect when dipping into the red salsa. We all enjoyed our food and left stuffed. It was busy though, so it was definitely hard to grab our servers attention whenever we needed anything.. Portions are pretty big so come hungry!
