The chicken is good, cooked to order. The shrimp is good too but I didn't like the chicken sandwich, it was dry.

If you're someone who wants ambiance and decor, this isn't it. Do you want food made with love? This is your spot. Being 1st time callers and long time listeners, played it safe by ordering a burger. My thoughts are, if a burger isn't done well nothing else would be. Their dressed cheeseburgers have chili and onions on them. Want your's differently? I am certain you will be accommodated. Ours were delicious, clearly hand made and the fries were perfect. The Gentleman at the counter took the order, we seated ourselves. No frills, no pretentious demure; We were welcomed as if we were old friends walking into their kitchen at home. TV on, other patrons enjoying their meals. Was a treat to have the owner/cook(?)'s grandaughter pop in and listen to their banter. She was supposed to be home for July 4 but ate "bad McDonalds" and was sick If my fam had a place like this no doubt McDonald's would tear up my guts more than it already does! It was adorable. She was adorable. He was adorable. Loads of love between those walls and it reflects in the food served. Don't quote me on this but I think we were loved, fed very, very well and out the door for under $22. The only complaint I have is, I wanna go back Would probably be cheaper to eat here and support local every night than to cook at home! Loved it, will be back and strongly recommend.

Our server was quite nice and was able to answer our menu questions. Our meal began with the soup of the day, Chicken Tortilla Soup. It was quite tasty, full of veggies that you would find in a pico de gallo nestled in a rich tomato broth, topped with crispy tortilla strips and served in a very small 8oz cup. What was missing was the chicken... I think I encountered one very small cube of chicken in one of those bites. My husband had the bowl size and echoed the same sentiment. For entre, I ordered the Blue Cheese and Apple Salad and made it a meal with the delicately fried oysters. The portions were great for a meal, but I expected more diversity in the salad greens. I received a mound of spinach that would make Popeye extremely happy. I would have loved some crispy romaine to vary the density of the spinach. However, the house dressing and candied walnuts added a great touch. My husband ordered the Cajun Chicken Pasta which I sampled. I loved the sausage and the complexity of flavors for this dish. My son had the crab cakes which were also greatly portioned. He said that the cakes were very good, but for the premium prices he'd expected more crab and less filler. Nevertheless, he still cleaned his plate. Overall, we had a pleasant evening, but for what you pay for a meal, I expected a little bit more.

Food was very good. Server was competent. Ambiance was quiet. They were not busy…read more When I'm in Wilson again, I'd be happy to go there again.

The bar glows under lighting as unique as the stories told across it, while the keg urinals prove they don't take themselves too seriously. It's the kind of place where craft and character collide. The bar goes on longer than most stories told across it -- a gleaming stretch of wood lined with more chairs than you can count. Soft glowing lights keep things warm and easy on the eyes, while TVs hum with the game (or the drama). But the real stars here? The staff -- quick with a pour, quicker with a smile, and just the right amount of banter to make every seat the best one in the house, they serve an old fashioned so smooth, it feels like sipping timeless charm with a twist. Lo and Behold! A bottle of SKYY behind the bar? Guess heaven really is within reach. Step onto their small rooftop patio--two staircases up and suddenly you're in your own little hideaway. Don't let the height fool you: the amazing staff runs up and down like caffeinated superheroes, making sure your drink is as perfect as it would be at the bar. Cozy, breezy, and just far enough from the crowd to feel like your secret spot, but close enough to get the same top-notch service. At Norse Brewing Longhouse cheesy dreams come true: a pimento cheeseburger that winks at you, with beer cheese tots doing the perfect cheese dance on the side. Zebulon's favored restaurant. Cheers!

While the staff were very nice, there was only one person running around managing all the tables, and my salmon salad was terrible - I specifically asked how the jalapeños were cut, so I could take them out if they were too hot - and was reassured that they were cut in coins/slices and would be easy to remove. When the salad came, they were diced super tiny and super spicy - and really difficult to remove. Also, a good part of my salad was avocado, and it was so unripe that it was crunchy! When I mentioned these concerns to the staff, the lady apologized about the jalapeños and said her niece works in the kitchen and had told her that she's been throwing away the soft avocados because that means they're not good anymore. Who has kitchen staff (especially family members) that don't even know what a ripe avocado looks and feels like?!? She did acknowledge and apologize that my salad was nothing like I had expected (or they had advertised), but did not offer any sort of a discount - although we also did not ask. As the only place with actual food in that area, we had high hopes, but sadly we will definitely NOT be back. The only reason I did not leave one star is because my husband ordered the beet salad. It was tiny, but tasted good.

One half feels historic and the other half feels modern with the artwork, mirrors, and finishes. The lighting is dim but you can still read the menu. It wasn't busy while I was there but quiet enough I couldn't hear other conversations. Initially the host wanted to seat me at the bar but when I declined, gave me a seat near the open kitchen. My waitress was friendly and helped me select the strawberry blonde to go with the strawberry salad. This was smaller than expected and just one or two strawberries. There was a little too much dressing for my taste as I forgot to order it on the side. I did like how the flavors came together. I also had the chocolate torte which was rich and decadent. I left here a little squeamish from what I witnessed. After all, I was seated at a booth table with a full view of the open kitchen. I noticed the food runner repeatedly touching his nose then the plates of food. I watched him reset a table and was touching the silverware by the tines, the part that goes in your mouth, rather than the handles. I'm not sure if the hands had been washed when he added by hand garnish to my dessert. I immediately removed the garnish but should have returned the dish to get it remade. Also, a table of six was seated then left a few minutes later and the glasses and silverware were not replaced while I was there, leaving me to assume they were not replaced for the next guests. I also noticed the restaurant had many cameras, so these hygiene lapses were likely recorded. For an upscale spot, these hygiene issues were disappointing. I truly enjoyed the flavors and the atmosphere, and I would be happy to return in the future if I could be confident that basic hygiene and service protocols were being strictly followed. I'd particularly love to come back and try the strawberry cake next time.
