I've ordered from here a few times and it didn't disappoint. I liked it very much and I will be getting food from here again. Try it out.

Very polite service, inexpensive food. The service is a bit slow, so call your order in ahead. The empanadas are great,

She really is a believer of building community and that can be seen in the way that she treats her customers and also is visible by the people walking through the door of her cafe. I have never had such a positive experience in regard to feeling so welcome and so happy while somewhere. My friend Taylor and I chatted with the staff and every customer. What an experience! All of the food and beverages were freshly prepared. Allergies were taken care of along with other dietary restrictions and preferences. They have options for GF, dairy free, vegetarian, vegan and more. WOW! Everything we tried was amazing. It was my first time trying Nigerian food and I was super impressed! Everything was flavorful and unique. I will be back again for sure. This was an experience unlike any other!

The woman working couldn't have been nicer and all of the customers were beyond friendly. For drinks my friend and I tried the Chapman and zobo, both were good on their own but the nice woman working convinced us to mix them together and WOW, highly recommend. We also tried a blueberry latte which was tasty. For food we ordered puff puff, plantain waffle, sardines and eggs, and vegan village rice bowl. We finished it off with a slice of banana bread. Everything was so flavorful and not overly salty and not oily. The puff puff were so light and fluffy! I can't wait to come back and try more things. We got a lot of recommendations from customers coming in... definitely coming back for jollof rice and pepper soup! Side note: there is construction going on in front of this business. Don't let it deter you, there is a lot of street parking nearby and you can park at the bank across the street while the construction is going on!

The first time I randomly came across the pop-up sign outside and couldn't resist not going in and checking it out. After that, I started to follow them on instagram, @suis.ri. suis offers limited quantities of roll cakes, mini cake boxes, shio pan, choux, and beverages. I've had their jasmine milk matcha and the salted cookie butter matcha. Both drinks are DELICIOUS! The jasmine smell and flavor really comes through and I've gotten it both times I've visited the pop-up. The salted cookie butter matcha is a must get if you like/love speculoos. I've also tried the dubai chocolate tiramisu, biscoff cookie tiramisu, and mango coconut sticky rice mini cake box. They're all SOOOO good and packed with flavors!!! I don't think you can go wrong with anything you order from suis. On pop-up days, suis usually offers a free item with purchase for the first 12 customers so get in line early. It is definitely worth the wait! All the items are limited quantities so they do run out. Be sure to get there early and prepare to queue up. The line moves and you'll have time to look at the menu on your phone.

I loved the jallof rice sample but decided to try the egusi stew with tilapia. It was very flavorful with a fair amount of spice. The fufu was really good and I enjoyed the red sauce that topped the entire dish. The egusi stew itself had a pretty strong shellfish flavor (from crawfish and I think something else). It wasn't my favorite, but I'm glad I tried it. I think next time I would definitely get the jallof rice :)

We wanted a good dinner tonight so we stopped by Suya Joint around 5:30 and had no trouble finding a table. I'd also like to give a shoutout to our waitress who was incredibly friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and accommodating. She's one of the main reasons why we keep coming back. She even came over when our food was put down to make sure we knew exactly what we were eating and had to do it. I've worked with people of Ghanian and Nigerian descent so I do know what good African food tastes like, and this place is one of the best. Tonight I ordered the taushe with fufu and was very happy with it! The fufu tastes great, a little sticky but I enjoy the texture and think it works great for dipping. The taushe had great flavor, was very filling, and was seasoned expertly. My only minor critique is that some of the pieces of my beef were large which made it a challenge to eat inside the stew. But it's a dish that I definitely recommend to anyone. My mango juice was also very tasty and I enjoyed the whole experience once again. Prices are on the higher side but I never mind paying for quality food.

The chicken we had with the jollof rice was also perfectly seasoned and cooked. We also tried one of the traditional stews, which was rich in flavor with well cooked beef. Our waitress was super helpful in helping us pair a swallow with the stew we had chosen too. Service was always prompt, and they were also super helpful in teaching how to eat the stew traditionally with the swallow. I love when restaurants bring delicious food and new things to learn. We will be back soon!
