We ordered a cake for our daughter's graduation from EWU nursing school about 2 weeks ago. Went to pick it up and somehow the order had gotten misplaced, panic set in. The bakery manager and baker made a new one in record time and saved the day. They did a excellent job and we are very appreciative thank you very much. read more

Common courtesy and customer service would have been nice, Kathy A. at the U-City Spokane Valley store. I look in baking aisle and bulk aisle for some pine nuts. Nothing. So I get in Kathy A's checkout lane. In front of me is a woman getting her items rung up. (She was actually writing a check!). Anyway, it was slow. I get up to Kathy A. and ask her where the pine nuts are. Meanwhile, my ice cream is getting softer. Instead of asking the produce guy or the bagger girl to go grab them for me she sends me off to get them. It was Rude! read more

If you want to grocery shop with your dog, Rosauers only requires a leash. That's their definition of a service dog. They are officially pet friendly. Complaints to the Health Department / WAC 246-215-06570. Rosauers does not follow the definition of a service dog, you will not need to present any disability or certificate at this store. read more

This used to be the store that I would run in if I was in a hurry because it was close to my old house, but I would never shop here on the regular. The primary reason? The prices. They do have a good selection, but the prices are higher than comparable stores. I like that you can get a decent selection of natural and vegan foods, but the prices make it hard to justify that. The service also needs a little work. Once I bought some nutritional yeast from the bulk section and in a hurry wrote the wrong code. The cashier made a giant stink out of it, declaring "that does not look like corn meal!" and then taking her sweet time to go back and find the correct code rather than allowing me to go get it. (She didn't even know that nutritional yeast was, so it took a while.) She proceeded to be cold and rude throughout the rest of the transaction. The difference in price was about $1.50, so it wasn't even that I was getting a remarkable deal. Ironically, when I went in on a different occasion, she was nice as pie to me. I will NEVER order from Rosauers on Sprague again. April 8th I ordered 3 doz mini croissants for pick up on April 15. I received a very friendly email assuring me that they would be ready for me between 10 and 11 on the 15th. At 8 o'clock on the 15th I received a call from the bakery saying since the large croissants were on their ad they were not going to be baking any of the mini croissants. That was the main item for a bridal shower I was hosting. What kind of a business does that!!! Your competition came to our rescue. Safeway said they would bake us three dozen mini croissants and we can pick them up by noon. Rest assured everyone I know we'll hear about the service I received at your Rosauers bakery. John the meat manager was amazing today. He helped me and my daughter with purchasing a Dungeness crab whole. I didn't know how to properly clean on, so John did it for us and invited my daughter to learn how to do it. It was such a wonderful educational opportunity that my 7yr old won't soon forget. I was very grateful to John for his kindess, understanding, and overall service. Thanks John. Please never change. read more

I love Rosauers for their fresh meats and produce. I have since I can remember 45 years ago. My first memories of shopping at Rosauers with my mother. She explained to me why she loved the store because I asked why we didn't go to the other ones. We had an Albertsons that at that time was closer to drive to, so I didn't get it at 5yrs old lol. She stated it all, and I felt the same. Of course, but I am 50 now, and the same things remain a must for me, and where I shop. Rosauers Rocks! read more

This Rosauers is within my weekly grocery run due to its proximity to the Winco. As at all Rosauers, a good place to pickup some discount at-expiration meat and poultry. You can really find some good deals. I find Rosauers seafood to be largely frozen all the time - so you're paying for a lot of water weight. Skip it. At times the best prices in town on Dry Fly liquors. read more

I love this store! I live closer to the Safeway but don't mind driving a couple extra miles to shop here. What's not to like? The staff is incredibly friendly and upbeat. They have a wonderful produce section that's always fully stocked. I do wish they would expand their organic produce section but that's okay, I'm still happy with what they have! Both the Deli and Meat counter have a nice selection. BEWARE if you're trying to eat healthy, avoid the bakery because they have oodles of yummy treats that are very hard to resist! e.g. Maple Bacon Donut. One of the things I love the most about shopping here is the Huckleberry's section. I'm able to get all the Organic and Non-Gmo goodies I used to get from Sprouts when I lived in CA. That's why I love shopping here every week for my groceries. Check them out sometime if you haven't already! read more

I live a half mile from here and it's always a wonderful experience shopping here. Nice produce and quality products. Not always the cheapest but definitely nice and worth the price. The staff has always been helpful and kind. It's clean and organized, has a cute cafe inside. read more

if I could give 0 stars I would not hesitate to do so. Up until tonight I thought the store was okay. Tonight, I swiped my card at the register, she told me to have a goodnight and then she caused a huge scene in the parking lot running after me and said my groceries were not paid for. I did everything correct on my end. She didnt press total. My husband talked with the manager and she refused to listen and said we are blacklisted, she said she would throw us in jail along with our kids who are 2 4 and 6 if we came back all because she is tired of hearing us complain about 1 worker who is rude everytime. I have to find a new place to shop. Two strikes I'm done! First the bagger put my groceries in dirty plastic bags. If you are going to recycle that is fine but at least clean and sterilize the bags before reusing them. Do not just dig them out of the trash and reuse. That is disgusting. When I got home there was food and other trash in the bag with my groceries. disgusting!!! Ok I will be more vigilant in this area to make sure I get clean bags for my food. So I went back as this is my favorite grocery store in the valley. Second strike--I went shopping for 4th of July the day before and the inconsiderate people who think nothing of others have their dogs in the store. I saw some other customers and employees bothered by this but no one said anything to these people. This is a grocery store it is down right disgusting to have dogs in the store not to mention those inconsiderate folks who put their dogs in the shopping cart where we put our vegetables and other foods. The employees and/or manager should not be afraid to tell these so-called privileged people no dogs/pets allowed! No consideration. We live in a society people!! I have shopped at this store since coming to Spokane. I love the organic section and can find pretty much everything I need. I didn't mind paying a little more because the staff is so wonderful. They always offer to take my groceries out and give me a little chat which is nice for a hermit. I gave them four stars only because some of the prices are too high. read more

I would love to give Rosauers a much better review, however there are a few of the employees that have severely lacking people skills. The store cleanliness and selection of products are both great, and are a good reason for a visit. Most of the folks working here are knowledgeable and friendly, but others couldn't care less. The store manager (I think his name was Tom) working at customer service when I visited was extremely dismissive and surly with customers as well as other employees nearby. Not sure if he was just having a bad day, but acting like a terrible person is a poor way of treating others. Customers are how a business makes money, and treating them and fellow employees like humans would be a great way of ensuring continual business. Probably not coming back. read more

We have shopped at Rosauers every week for years. Usually we wait in sometimes long lines for our favorite checkers. No favorites were on last Sunday, so we just chose a line. Bad choice. We were bitched out for not having "the number" for a produce item. No baggers were in sight, so we bagged our own groceries (definitely amateur Job). The checker was generally surly through it all. I seriously considered just leaving the goods on the check-out stand and walking away, but decided we would pay a bigger price than the checker. We will continue to shop Rosauers, but if no known checker is on duty at one of the few lines generally open, we may just leave the cart full of groceries in the aisle. read more
