The group is respectful towards those they serve, even referring to them as customers - allowing those in need the dignity they deserve. Donating items is quick, easy and efficient. The volunteers are kind and full of good cheer. ECHO will also advertise the specific items on their billboard so you can see what items are most in need. ECHO can't accept everything but they can recommend other organizations that accept furniture, perishable food or other items for donations. You can feel good that your donated items will go to those who can truly use them.

The staff was so helpful and accommodating -- they worked around my schedule and made everything feel smooth and stress-free. What really stood out to me was the follow-up. They checked in to make sure the adjustment was going well, which meant so much. You can tell they truly care about the animals and the families they're placing them with. I was told I would receive it in my email upon adopting, and that they would mail hard copies in the next week (still havent recieved 4 weeks later). My vet got in touch with the rescue this evening and were informed my dog, that I adopted April 10, will need all her vaccines again since they expire May 23. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS RESCUE...they should NOT be adopting dogs out knowing all the vaccines expire in 6 weeks without informing the new owners!

We were greeted by 3 staff members (apologies I don't remember their names). I initially thought this was just a venue to smash stuff but it was explained that this is a mental health venture aimed at spiritual healing. After signing the waivers and donning our PPE, we went in. The wooden structure isn't huge so you cant get running starts or make any long over hear arm movements, but it ended being just the right amount of space to get your smash on. Initially I was caught up in the novelty of smashing things, but a point in time came where that novelty faded and I found myself tapping into an aggression and emotion I did not go there with. It wasn't until I stood there out of breath with my hands sore that I truly understood what this place was for. That session provided a space and avenue for me to truly let go, for just a little bit. If you haven't done that recently (or ever), you need to book a session to understand what im talking about. A challenge was issued to me to put in work on the water heater and I made a decent hole in it but that thing was tough. They sure don't make em like they used to.

The site was well furnished with safety gear (goggles, gloves, etc.), tools (bats, sledgehammers, etc.) and objects to smash (microwave oven, water heater, glass bottles, etc.). I volunteered this Saturday for their Stitch N' Time Club, their monthly textile club. It was…read morereally fun and I learned so much! All the members are wonderful and the organizer is really great and easy going. I picked cotton, carded wool and cotton and learned how to drop-spin wool into "yarn'... I'm still working on my technique. Most importantly they are trying to preserve their sheep, farm and traditional colonial trades and traditions. I will definitely be going back to see more the park and property, its a very pretty place!

Some items with large visible stains, so maybe they don't get rid of much. There was a sign that said voucher customers can only get clothes from 2nd floor. This told me 2 things: 1) they are probably the main clothing provider for their emergency shelter clients 2) newer stuff is downstairs. Clerks were pleasant. Friendly vibe, though they didn't say much to us. One was very upbeat with colorful description when a person asked what was being served at the soup kitchen that evening. Her enthusiasm made me happy.
