I checked their…read morebusiness hours and noted that their garden is open until 5 p.m. and their kitchen is open until 6 p.m. We arrived around 4:50 p.m. and saw that there was staff standing at the entrance to the garden. It gave the impression that they were guarding the entrance and that customers were not allowed to browse their plant selection, even though the store had not closed yet. We went over to their restaurant section and ordered at their kitchen order counter. I heard the cashier tell another customer that the dining room was now closed and they would have to get their food to go. When we ordered, I asked if we'd be able to eat there and was told that would not be possible. It was odd, as I saw people sitting at a table and getting their food delivered to their table. I inquired with the staff that brought out the food if it'd be alright for us to eat there, and she said yes. The broasted chicken we got was tasty, but slightly on the salty side. The broasted potatoes were a letdown. It was soft and not crispy at all. It seemed like since it was almost the end of the day, we were given what had been sitting around and not a fresh order. We had gotten an order for three pieces of broasted potatoes and were given five. Once again, we suspect this was because it was closer to the end of the day and they just wanted to get rid of it. The tossed salad did not look like it was tossed. The lettuce was stuck together (and perhaps had not been washed). Upon leaving, I overheard a customer confirm with staff that the kitchen closes at 6 p.m. and there are still thirty minutes until then, so there is no reason why they could not enjoy their food there.

The Ciociaro Club has been amazing with this event. Their venue is absolutely gorgeous, the parking lot is a decent size, and the staff is wonderful. Since this is Windsor, and they serve pizza, of course we already know it's going to be good. Pizza was ordered the night before, when we were at the hall on the day before setting up from morning until night. Lunch was offered in their restaurant. They also have two buffets, one in the actual restaurant and one in a smaller dining hall. The washrooms, plenty of them, were clean, and kept up wonderfully. The main hall, in which we had our event was absolutely beautiful, and especially after the hall was decorated. Staff were very attentive to the attendees of the ball and the coordinators and volunteers running the event. If you come in from the front there is a beautiful grand entrance. I'll be back next year for next years Princess Ball, knowing how delicious the food is, the upkeep of the entire place, the history it has in Windsor, the wonderful staff and management, and the fact that these kids have a ball at the ball! There was a huge beer tent set up with a band and a few other tents for whiskey tasting and Irish dancing. We walked around to shop a little and enjoyed some food. I recently visited this bowling alley with my family, and overall the experience felt very…read moreuncomfortable. What stood out the most was how groups seemed to be separated--Black/ African-American guests were placed on one side while white guests were placed on another. Whether intentional or not, it came across as segregated and made the atmosphere feel very off. I normally would have left, but the kids were really excited to bowl, so we stayed for their sake. That said, no one should have to feel that way while trying to enjoy a simple outing. I hope management takes a serious look at how guests are being assigned lanes and works toward creating a more welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone.
