We went with Rose fence even though it was a slightly higher price than our original estimate. The guy who gave us our estimate was so much friendlier than other places and just seemed more engaged. The work was great and the crew was amazing. They went out of their way and even fixed a few spots on our old fence which we weren't replacing. I should have read the reviews first but it's so hard to get a fence company to show up! Most companies either a) didn't show up for the estimate or b) were too busy to take new customers during COVID or c) were too expensive (Carl's Fence came in a thousand dollars more than everyone else). So I give Rose Fence props for showing up, but after that, it's a disaster. Fence installed mid-July. By the end of July, one PVC piece popped out with an exposed nail. Portions of the fence are now leaning, the double gate was sagging, rubbing against each other, and the latch was no longer working. Five, six years after installation? I get it. But two weeks later? Customer service is terrible. You call them, they say they'll call you back, they don't. They say they'll be there at a certain time to look at it, they aren't. See photos for proof. read more

Lately there has been a considerable amount of erosion and the fence has lost alignment requiring additional fencing. Two men came and spent significant time getting the job done to perfection. This is the second time I used Rose Fence. Many years ago, they installed an Arbor and Fence, and because it held up and still looks like new decided to call them again and have a Picket Fence along the property line. Andy was the salesmen, and quite knowledgeable about the best height and the way it should look. I called a few times about the height issue, and yes Andy you were right. Sorry I wore your patience. Don't know if I was given the best price, but the quality was what I wanted. Two hardworking installers showed up the day and time scheduled, and after working a half a day the Fence was completed. He then told me what I should install -- namely what Rose had currently in stock. My wife, who was listening in, could not believe I did not order him off the property. But first (for laughs) I wanted to hear his estimate to install what I wanted. It was over $6,000. So I called Williams Fence in Lynbrook. Got what I wanted for less than half the price. Love it. EXTREMELY annoyed with them. Last summer we had an $1800 fence installed in our driveway. We specifically had them come at the same time the driveway was being paved so they can easily set the posts. Once the gate was put in I felt it was extremely flimsy for the price we paid, but let it go as we had other home renovations going on at the same time that took our attention. Less then one year later the entire gate buckled, detached from our home, does not slow close as it should, and is extremely off balance. We waited almost 6 weeks from the time of calling for the sales person to show up. (we were told it would be repaired, but instead they sent the sales person). He then went along to ask me for a receipt to prove that they installed it, yet he remembered us by first name. He explained they no longer install that fence because of its low quality. Can you imagine we paid $1800 and that's what he is telling me!!?. He assured someone who be here in 4 weeks time to repair it for us. Here we are 6 weeks later and I have to call the office once again. Only to be told there was a paperwork mix up and the appointment was not scheduled. Please be careful of the Vinyl fences that Rose Fence is installing. I had a really bad experience with them. The sales person showed me Active Yard - Haven series product with glide lock feature and explained why it was superior than its competitors' product. As a result, I agreed to contract with them and paid them the initial deposit and they agreed to install it about a month later. However, when they came to install the fence, I noted that the fence they were trying to install was not the one the sales person had showed me but some genetic, cheaper quality fence that had tongue and grove feature and not glide lock feature. The installer told me that those are the only kind of Vinyl fences Rose Fence carries. I got really upset and called the sales person, who told me that since they could not get the product I ordered, they are installing another one. He then started explaining that how the one they are trying to install is better than the one I had ordered. At that point I told him that he had about a month between the contract sign date and the installation date, he should have informed me that the product I had ordered was unavailable rather than being sneaky and installing a wrong product. I then called their main office to complain and I was soon connected with the owner. The owner told me that they stopped carrying Active yards about 3 years back. So I asks him as to why the sales person showed me Active yard sample during his sales pitch. At that point the owner said that the sales person should not have done that. Then I asked him that if it has been 3 years since they stopped carrying Active yard products then why do they still have it on display in their showroom in Freeport and also why do they still advertise it on their website. At that point he did not have a good answer for me and said that their current product is better than Active Yard and immediately agreed to give me my deposit back (which apparently took me 3 calls to get my money back). Sorry for the long post but wanted to share my experience to make others aware of the "bait and switch" tactic Rose Fence uses and tries to cheat its customers. They explained to my wife that the jobs needed to be on 2 invoices but not to worry. Note to self, when someone says don't worry...worry! So Ihad a very bad experience over the phone. My husband and I are getting an estimate for a fence. Pat came to our house and was quick, polite, to the point and and knew exactly what we were looking for as soon as I described it. He gave me an estimate and said he could try to work with us if we had other offers- we did but I didn't know what they were- my husband had gotten that one. I called Pat back a few days but didn't hear back. The difference in estimate was $200... so I called the main office to see if I can finalize this. I was transferred to I believe his name was Jim (could be wrong). I explain the other quote, and he tells me he has the estimate in front of him and it's the same ...(no room for negotiation apparently)..The phone gets cut off, and I call back thinking...hmm...that's strange...first they are able to work with us, then its' NO its hard estimate! So I get back on the phone, the receptionist screams "It's that woman!" and hands over the phone back to the man I just spoke with. He reiterates that is the quote, when I said look I thought there was some room for negotiation, he said Well I am the one who makes the call and that's the price!..rudely... It's funny but $200 at the point where I am in the thousands on a fence shouldn't matter to a big fence company like Rose. So entertain me, drop it $50 if you didn't feel like negotiating today. It wasn't the amount, it was the way in which it was delivered. It's customer service. You got a business to run, I have a budget like anyone else to meet, but we can all meet someplace. I can't review their fence or give you insight how installation goes, it probably doesn't go bad otherwise I expect they'd be out of business. But the level of customer service should be good. From the moment you first meet a client to finalizing the job. It's how you maintain business and get recommendations via word of mouth, or Yelp in this case :) I called Pat back who had been very polite, timely and professional all this time and left him a VM to explain the above and he called me back to apologize and explain the price he quoted me had been on the low end. Ok that was understandable, that is something the guy on the phone could have also said, politely. Had a crazy experience with these people. I ordered about 15 sections of cedar fencing to be delivered to a friends house in Brooklyn so we could install it. I placed the order, called to confirm, called the day of to confirm the time again, and then get a call in the middle of the day, nowhere near the time they said they would deliver, from the neighbor saying they dropped the fencing off in the middle of the sidewalk, blocking it. Yes, in the middle of the sidewalk. They did not call me and when I called them to ask what was going on, they said they didn't have a phone number for me so they just left it and didn't tell anyone. Seems like it would be a good thing to take down someones phone number when they order over $1500 worth of fencing for delivery. We were at work and couldn't get there until much later in the day and of course by that point the neighbors were angry. Can't believe it did not get stolen. Honesty.. lied to after spending $)??,??? ! For a gate 18ft. Installed. Problems from beginning. Salesperson, after receiving a bill for mother board was not wired correctly and burnt out. Verified by Lee himself! found out telling my husband & myself he had crews working under him! Called him was here several times and claimed himself he was boss over installers. Mother board had a wire that burnt because of installer put a screw in outside of panel that hit the hot wires. Lee removed the screw himself . Lee promised they would take care of this.. we waited one week believing him because he (on speaker with 2 electrical gate installers listening and talking also to him) present with us. These men offered to get one and fix for us next morning... Lee told us give him 2 days he would take care of it . Understanding we told I'm NO MORE money he agreed. They went ahead sent someone here replaced the board in 20 min. / fence not closing perfectly 10" gap open . Lee ran here said he fixed it . Still broken. Called owner today, He was verbally abusive said we owe another $1000. We are in our 80's and feel abused, Lee knows fence had problems from the start . Lied constantly with us . Gave price, half way through wanted another check. Hopefully they get their lawyer like he threatened .. love to see face of Lee when this man this boss finds out how abused we were an according to price of bill's claims they had someone else do , our neighbor because they couldn't figure it out . I had this company install fencing and a gate less than three years ago. During high winds, my gate came apart so I called for someone to come look at it. Nobody else's fence on my block had any problems. I had to wait three weeks before a Mr. Howard Blatt came to inspect damage. The most belligerent, condescending man I've ever done business with. Very bad experience with Rose Fencing in May 2021. Did not have order ready by pick up date. They sold me the wrong rails, yet the rails I wanted was used to the build the gates I ordered. When I tried to return the product for my money back they said all sales are final read my receipt. They did not even disclose this information when I purchase the fencing. Shame on you Joe? Do not use this company, after talking my husband into buying more pvc material than needed, we have two panels of fencing wrapped in plastic, never used and Joe will not take them back. Delivered on Thursday, fence went up on Saturday and we wanted to return it today. It was not a special order we could have gone anywhere but we decided to use them. Even after my husband gave me the price I thought it was a little high but since my husband owns his own construction company I figured he knew something I didn't. Terrible experience!! I realize we may not have had the biggest job for them to complete but they came and took a deposit and set the date so we expected them to honor their commitment. They said they were busy and scheduled the installation for more than 1 month out... They did confirm a day before via a phone call with an estimate when we should expect them. They not ONLY DID NOT SHOW up they could not come until the end of the week. Even though My wife had to take off from work to wait for them today. Shocked how unprofessional and unwilling to make it right asap. One thing is for sure there are plenty of fence companies to choose from on long island and this should be the LAST ONE you use!!! Not sure if it's fair to write a review from a job of 20 years ago but every time I look at my fence I get disgusted. It was an aluminum fence which should last a very long time. The install was so bad. They actually filled the posts with liquid concrete into the brick patio to keep them sturdy. They all expanded and contracted in the seasons and cracked open! Each panel separated and we had to tie wire to keep them attached. After numerous phone calls to the owner when this initially happened, he continued to pawn it off on the contractor (who hired Rose fence) was MIA and went out of business therefore I was stuck. I can see his quality of installations is a continued practice so I had to add my review . If he only did good in the first place this wouldn't of happened and I would have given them a much better review. read more

I have been doing business with the folks at Rose Fence over the course of years. Most recently, i had the mechanism on a spring loaded gate fail and since it was installed to protect my very large dogs, it was imperative to have it work properly. This morning, a repair person from Rose came to assess the damage and he came wrench in hand and fixed it on the spot. He wouldnt accept payment and was prompt,knowledgeable and courteous.
