Daughter was married here recently. It was crazy chaos The day of. Very unorganized. I realize there are many vendors. The air conditioner wasn't working in bridal section upstairs. just the men's lounge. It was so hot! For how expensive this venue was they should have had air fixed or fans. It was 95 degrees outside! you are renting the building. No excuse for this! The wedding was outside and party inside. The ballroom was pretty hot also! many guests complained. My short hair was soaked the entire day and makeup melting as well as rest of the wedding party and guests. Wedding was so far behind the original time. No handicap access. I had high hopes for Rose Hill Manor, but our experience was incredibly disappointing. After scheduling multiple visits to discuss details, the venue staff was rarely available, which left us feeling unsupported. To make matters worse, just two weeks before our wedding, they lost our food menu from Gala Cuisine, causing unnecessary stress and scrambling on our part. On top of that, during our contracted time for the wedding and en suite hours, another couple and party preparing for their wedding the next day was allowed to rehearse and to interrupt our suite hours, walking in while we were getting ready. Little did we know they allow this and include it in their contract. Read the contract carefully as they seem to double dip. Overall, I cannot recommend Rose Hill Manor. The lack of organization and respect for our time made, what should have been a joyous occasion, made it much more stressful than it needed to be. read more

Came here for P and G's wedding. What a beautiful venue! The drive to the manor was so scenic and peaceful. Parking was simple enough. The wedding ceremony was held outside and couldn't have been more perfect. Surrounded by trees and lovely weather. The reception took place inside the grand ballroom. Employees were all very friendly and helpful. Dinner was delicious and the music was excellent. Everyone had such a great time celebrating P and G! My experience with Rose Hill was great at first, but took a quick turn for the worst. I was the bride and thinking back makes me 100% regret my decision in using RHM as my venue. This is LONG but I hope this super honest review helps future couples with their decision, as well as the RHM staffs lack of accountability. Here, you will have an aesthetically beautiful wedding. The grounds & manor itself are beautiful. However, get EVERYTHING IN WRITING (texts, emails, etc) because it will certainly turn into a "he said/she said" battle. If you have an issue like we did, the owners will pretty much do everything to make sure you are seen as delusional. They also SPECIFICALLY asked me NOT to write a negative review on Yelp or google.. weird. My month/dayof coordinator was Lindsay, who was a pleasure to work with leading up to the wedding. I can't say the same for the actual wedding day. The timeline was poorly executed and there was so much miscommunication that almost ALL of my vendors complained about how she was unpleasant and "snappy." Lindsay asked if I'd be comfortable starting the ceremony 15-20 min late due to guests trickling in late/traffic. (If I knew this would be the beginning of the chaos, I would've said no, but I trusted her opinion and took it.) According to the owners, it was aaalllll my fault for this decision due to it pushing the entire day back, causing timing issues. I understand this, however... isn't it the coordinators job to adjust as needed as the day proceeds? Not everything is going to go perfectly, right? Why was this option offered to me if it would immediately set the day up for failure? During the ceremony, I almost walked out to silence. Lindsay missed the part where I was supposed to walk out so she basically made the dj replay the song. It was so awkward and noticeable *cringe* Rewind to months before our wedding- I remember expressing to Lindsay how IMPORTANT table visits are for our family, so I was thankful that she made ample time for that in the timeline during the reception. On wedding day, I didn't have my phone so I relied on others to keep me updated regarding time. I, as well as my bridal party, found ourselves looking around for her A LOT, knowing what was next on the timeline yet wondering when she would begin them. We never did table visits. she either forgot or skipped it knowingly, but it never happened. My photographer, following the timeline, was confused. This was the biggest issue within the entire night because with a 190+ person guest count, I didn't get to properly greet/take photos with any of my guests--including family. She told me and my husband that she would make sure people didn't come up to us as we were eating at our sweetheart table. This didn't happen and ofc, a line formed while we were eating. She was nowhere to be found to redirect people back to their tables, so we barely ate. One of the female bartenders got super drunk off of the alcohol WE provided. The other male bartender (Marco) was great! Our dessert bar take-home containers as our favors were forgotten and kept under the table for most of the night. When I asked Lindsay about them, she seemed frantic and ran to put them out. The owners, Amara and Sammy, are kings in their own level of unprofessionalism, which clearly shows in their business. To me, they were discourteous, lacking accountability, and careless--esp when issues were brought up. It would take weeks and multiple calls/emails/vms just to have communication. They will talk over you and act completely disrespectful. not one ounce of remorse. You can tell they deal with negative feedback often at how quickly they become defensive and how their OWN staff apologizes on their behalf. Their attitude was basically "whatever happened already happened" and there's nothing they can do. This makes sense because weddings are supposed to be a one-time thing-- they don't have repeat customers. They don't need repeat customers. Touché RHM. I trusted Lindsay to make the appropriate calls as my coordinator and she fell very, very short. I will never get this day back or get a redo. RHM really needs to get it together, esp when ppl are paying thousands of dollars. To try to make it better, the owners asked if there was anything they could do for us. We asked for the $3000 coordinator fee back and they declined, saying "that's too much money." I kid you not, but I understand. Instead, they gave us $1250, which is fine, but it took almost 4 weeks to get to us, after we called and emailed over 3 times. Your wedding day is supposed to be one of the happiest and most memorable days of your life. Reminiscing is supposed to make you happy, not angry. It isn't fair (or fun) to feel this way about it, and I hope others who are having their future wedding here have a much better experience than we did. read more

Stephanie who was planning and coordinating was an absolute mess and disrespectful to the wedding day. She was not flexible at all with any of our requests and it seemed like she wanted the wedding to be in HER VISION as opposed to help the vision of the bride and the groom. She was terrible and recommend that you avoid Stephanie as a coordinator. The locale is nice but it does not outweigh Stephanie's terrible personality. read more

I had my big fat Indian wedding here in 2010. Ok, so by Indian standards it was pretty small and intimate, but that's all perspective. A couple of things that have been said but bear repeating: 1. Rose Hill Manor (RHM) provides the grounds. You are renting the space, a building, nothing else. 2.Reviews for the food, service (other than the RHM staff, which if you are a guest you should not really be interacting with), dj's, sound people, alcohol, lighting (other than the lighting fixed to the walls) are ALL brought in and NOT a part of RHM. 3. They have vendors they work with who they like, and will suggest, a few on their "no-way" list, but otherwise, it's pretty much up to the couple So finally my review: This place is STUNNING!!!!! And the staff equally wonderful. First they worked with us to move our wedding from their sister property to this site. Then they adjusted their price/time structure to accomodate us. We were booking the place for 2 days, but needed less time on one day than the other. They basically allowed us to split the hours between the days as we needed. They were very, very clear upfront with what the charges would be if we went overtime, and we just made sure we stayed within the time limits. I think as long as everyone signed onto the same page, people shouldn't complain. Read (and understand) your contract people!! Because we worked with vendors they recommended (thank you again so so much for recommending the best caterer EVER: Bollywood Bistro), they were flexible with our vendors and the vendors made their own arrangements for setup, eating up less of our rental time, allowing them to set up early and be out of the way sooner, etc. I.e. less stress for this DIY, no same-day planner bride :) My wedding had to be moved indoors because it was 98F with 80%+ humidity that day. The staff of RHM, under NO obligation to do so, helped make sure that the switch from wedding setup (mandap (Hindu altar)/chairs/aisle) to reception set tables/dance floor/etc went smoothly. They provide gold chivari chairs (these are EXPENSIVE!! to rent), allow you to bring in your own caterer and alcohol (another HUGE cost savings), and the stunning grounds ensure you won't have to rent/go anywhere else for amazing portraits. In addition, did I mention this place is STUNNING!!!!! When you're picking places for a party, remember this ladies and gentlemen: you can pick the cheaper venue, but then what will it cost you to decorate that space? I paid for MINIMAL decor, did everything else myself, and kept it simple, but it looked amazing because the manor house is gorgeous! Can't recommend this place more...love it! Went to a wedding here a few weeks back. Here is what I liked. the rural Leesburg setting was really nice. I liked the Jeffersonian architecture of the building. I would say that the food was good also. However....part of the driveway was dirt and gravel. I was wondering why it wasnt paved. The wedding was outside and I did like the surroundings, but the traffic from the road was surprisingly loud. For the reception, we were about 150 people stuffed into the front foyer and two side rooms that had the bar and the finger foods. The finger foods were good and the bartender was very liberal. And I dont mean his politics. I have seen posts on here about rude staff, but I didnt see it as a guest. The dance floor looked pretty small but it turned out to be adequate and we had about 15 tables of 10 people each. It was comfortable and not overwhelming. They served a buffet and again, the food was good. I have been on a diet, so they could have been serving a leathery shoe heel and I would have eaten it. But from what I remember of the greens and the meat, it was good. I dont know if this was right, but there seemed to be only two bathrooms and the line went out into the foyer. Regardless, my relatives looked good, the bride was pretty, and everyone had a great time. read more

Before relocating to New York, my wife and I hosted a private "going away" party at Rose Hill Manor with live music and about 75 of our closest friends as guests. Antonio and the rest of the staff there went above and beyond to ensure that our evening was a hassle-free success. We have nothing but fond memories of our final hours in Northern Virginia, and have Antonio and Rose Hill Manor to thank for that. I got married at this venue in 2007. This is a nice mansion with many green areas that look great for pictures. The very good thing about this place is that you can choose your catering service from their approved list and if you want traditional food, these catering services can hire your cook and provide what you want. Another great thing is that you can provide your own alcohol. So, that will help alto with the price. The bad thing is that they are not too flexible and a lot of attitude I sensed from the management. Also, my ceremony was outside on the patio and we needed speaker that were not provided. My wedding was going a little over the time limit (by 15 minutes maybe) and in the middle of my wedding they told me if it goes for 15 minutes I have to pay for the full extra hour that was $500 that time. I know deal is a deal but I just didn't understand why would that matter for them at all, it was not that they were going to start another wedding at 11 pm. That was the only thing that I have a little complain about but everything else was fine. Also, since they don't do catering on the site, they don't have equipment to warm up the food. (or they are not too equipped). Please correct me if I am wrong. But all together the inside and outside both are beautiful and we had a great time there. read more

My experience as the groom. This is a "buyer beware" location. Venue: Beautiful and Convenient Food: Pretty good, no complaints Event Support staff: very pleasant Management and communication: awful, poor at best. This is not a cheap place. You're paying top dollar for a beautiful venue. And it IS beautiful and well kept. My wife and I booked this venue in March of 2020 with an original wedding date of 6/5/21. Because of COVID and travel situations for guests coming from out of town and out of the country, we had to postpone to 9/10/21. How accommodating were they you ask? They weren't...at all. Awful communication. We originally contracted for a Saturday wedding with 125 guests. We ended up with a Friday wedding and about 90-95 guests. Did we get credit for moving from a Saturday wedding to a Friday? NO. ("New pricing" we were told) Did we have to pay a date change fee. YES. (COVID doesn't matter). Did we get credit for the difference in guest count? Nope. We got a cheese plate for our guests! Sounds fair, right? Keep in mind you're required to pay IN FULL 30 days (or more) in advance. We even had to ask they adjust the payment schedule as they gladly took our date change check, changed the date, but then left our payment schedule untouched and requiring us to pay in full over 3 months prior to the event. We were supposed to have a "wedding coordinator" through them. It was clearly in the contract. This person was basically Non existent. This person was a venue manager, not a wedding planner like expected. It was a constant battle and took numerous demands and even legal threats by us to get them to honor their written agreement. This went so far so that we were advised and went out and hired a second wedding planner because of the poor communication and complete lack of trust with the staff and management. The turnover of staff was unbelievable, you almost never had a single point of contact or knew who to get a hold of if you had a question. The documents they will require from you for the event will likely be sent to you late and then they'll demand they're returned ASAP. Day of: We had the venue from 1-11pm. Naturally you get there early to prep relax and get your photos on the beautiful grounds.... for us these photos were an issue and didn't happen....why? Well the landscapers were there cutting and blowing grass from starting at about 1-2pm and we had to demand (multiple times) they leave all the way up to and even when some of our guests were arriving. Completely unacceptable. The answer we got from the "director" was "those aren't my people" and "they couldn't do it the day before because it was too wet". We live in town here...it wasn't too wet...I cut my own grass the day before...why? Because I had a wedding the next day. They eventually left, but those pictures on the grounds you paid for...nope, not unless you want grass stains and clippings all over your beautiful dress and party outfits and guys on walk behind mowers in the background. To be honest, they probably would've stayed through the whole ceremony, had we not been constantly asking for them to leave, as they didn't even finish the grounds before leaving. Despite that we made it through and our guests drank, ate and danced the night away. Come ending time and our grand exit...we were doing well....then the demands that everything be vacated ASAP. When they say ASAP, they mean ASAP and will gladly threaten to charge you additional for extra time and clean up...keep in mind the person making these demands was also our venue provided "wedding coordinator". Sounds fun, right? At the end of the day, our guests enjoyed themselves and thanks to amazing friends and family, it all worked out. Will I ever deal with this venue or any of their other locations? Absolutely not. It's not worth the headache and constant battle to get them to just do their job as a host location and follow through on their duties contractually. Everything went off without a hitch. Mr. Cecchi and his staff were very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The Good: We chose the silver package, this meant the venue provided service (including bartender), linens, tableware and glassware. We had the option to bring our own food, which we catered from two different restaurants. The venue is beautiful and well maintained. The large columns recently repainted and refloored interior look great. It doesn't have yellow walls and ugly carpet anymore. Bar was bring your own alcohol, which was a bit of extra work but saved us a lot of money. This cut our bar costs in less than half and allowed us the flexibility to buy whatever we wanted. It's not far from several airports in the area, we had guests in the DC/VA area, this overall location is a nice safe place to have a wedding. Also, a lot of parking space for guests that is out of sight from the venue entrance. There was flexibility to pay for extra hours to have our wedding go until 12AM, which was important to us, other venues wanted us out by 10pm, sometimes 11pm at the latest. The Bad: Initial coordination from the venue was poor. There is a lot of chaos about who is a POC for what. Working with the owner was good until the point at which we got the contract signed. An initial meeting lead to no deliverables and false commitments related to planning. Coordination was then supposed to be handed off to owner's wife. We'd get the okay from her on something one minute and then the next minute get denied for the same thing. We highly suggest to trust your gut and if something doesn't seem okay to you, don't wait until the last moment to discuss it. Nobody contacted us about the final walkthrough and when we called them and tried to schedule it, there was some major miscommunication about the date and time. We did not feel confident in her ability to oversee our wedding, especially that our wedding day schedule was tight and consisted of a lot of details. Then, we finally met with other employees of the venue (including Sabrina) and this walk through finally lead to some decision making and planning deliverables. Big relief just couple of weeks before the wedding! The venue thought we missed a payment, they reached out to us as if we hadn't paid, there seemed to be an issue with them verifying which checks they received. Bartender was hiding our sign with drink list under the bar so our guests were not aware of signature drinks and variety of the alcohol that was prepared for them. Also, we had some international guests and the list was in two languages to make it easy for them to order drinks. Without it, they had to rely on other, English speaking guests. Also we heard that half-full drinks were taken from the tables as soon as the guests went on the dancefloor. It was frustrating and a lot of alcohol was wasted. I recommend ordering the coasters that say "brb. please don't take my drink away" which I saw after our wedding. They would work perfectly. Comments: The issue with planning was resolved when we complained and requested a planner from the venue which could provide planning documents related to logistics and timing. We did not provide notice to the owner but to the other folks on staff who seemed knowledgeable. Once we identified employees who are helpful and professional, we were able to work out the major aspects of our wedding as well as all the details. After the first failed planning with the owner and his wife, we met Sabrina Ransom and Nick Suarez. Sabrina and Nick really saved our wedding from disaster! Sabrina prepared a logistics plan and was very knowledgeable. Nick was present and had a lot of knowledge about the venue and was able to answer questions. We had a walk through with Nick and ironed out some final details by chance the week of our wedding which was more crucial than we thought. This ensured basic thinks like the fact that we had enough serving trays for catered food and flatware, it also helped him understand the logistical plan that Sabrina had worked with us on. Gustavo was an excellent point of contact for access to the venue, he has since moved on to supporting a different venue for the same vendor. If you go with Gala's other properties he's great to work with, in fact he's the one who sold us on the venue in the first place and has a very kind demeanor with prospective customers. Overall, we would recommend this wedding venue to others that seek the same flexibility we needed from the venue with extending time, bringing your own caterers and alcohol. We highly suggest someone using this venue be very discriminative about the staff you work with in getting your planning sessions done. If we were to do it over again we would have demanded a more responsive venue side planner. This would have saved us some frustration. Nonetheless we wish the venue well and we hope they continue to improve their services, thank you for the wonderful wedding location and facilities! read more

Be warned: Everyone is not "to the manor born." But isn't that what weddings are for? Antonio, manager of Rose Hill Manor, made this distinction quite clear in a post on their Facebook page on Wednesday night: "Every now and then we come across a person that is just not a good fit for our lovely mansion. Thank goodness that we take just as much time and care to choose our wonderful brides as they take to choose their wonderful venue." (This was taken down the same night after a negative comment was made.) Our experience started out quite lovely and ended up quite traumatically, at least for the bride I care about. The one alluded to in Antonio's post above. We met Antonio at a tasting at Fox Chase Manor (related to Rose Hill). By the time we left, "our" bride was so excited. She had finally met someone she felt comfortable enough with to entrust her wedding to. The planning started: the imagining of the decorations, the food, the whole wonderful day. And then, after working with Antonio for a few weeks over some of the wording in the contract, and being unable to get Antonio to get Sammy (the caterer) to change the language, Antonio told our bride she was not a good fit. (An important note: make sure you are comfortable working with Sammy, as Antonio is apparently NOT the person in charge of the contract or the catering. It is a confusing relationship.) Those of you going through the wedding venue selection process can understand the emotional importance of this step, yet are aware that you will be signing a contract that is probably over $20k. We are learning better ways to handle this in the future. I am surprised that Antonio, who deals with bride's and their families every day, does not have better manners than to woo a bride, toy with her heart over the contract, then "break up" with her AND post something about it on Facebook. I prefer the honest approach, tell me up front, our contract stands as is, we hope that works for you, but if it doesn't, we wish you the best in finding the venue of your dreams. read more

Please note I did not book my wedding at this venue so I cannot comment on the ability of the staff to serve the actual event. That being said, this location was in serious contention for our location until we had the misfortune of interacting with the employees. After having to ask for a price range three times, we were sent a snippy email from someone I can only assume was the manager stating "As far as 'packages' we do not have them because we are not a wedding factory, community center, nor a hotel... Mansions are not for everyone, and when folks simply prices shop sight unseen they are usually better suited to a mass produced product as is found in your typical wedding factory." I found this superior attitude to be appalling and completely inappropriate in any circumstance. Hopefully other people will have a better experience than we did. read more

A beautiful setting for a wedding, not more than 1 hour from DC for all your pre-wedding festivities and also very close to Dulles airport for all your out-of-town guests. I'll be careful to keep this review strictly to the venue itself since I know it is a barebones package. DISCLAIMER: I was a wedding guest, not the bride so keep my perspective in mind. I have no idea what actually working with this place is like. - Very intimate spaces complete with really nice features like fireplaces and balconies. If this were my reception, I would have tried to integrate them more since they are so unique. - I wish there was an outdoor shaded option for summer wedding ceremonies. I love the idea of being married amongst nature and not in a stinking church but the 4pm heat and humidity in early September was brutal. - They have fresh one-time-use hand towels that they restock in the bathrooms every hour. Inflates your bougie ego a bit and yay environment! - The foyer is a little too small to host over 100 people for cocktail hour. And its just awkward dark space with too much going on; the bar, the hors d'oeuvres table, the guestbook table, the gifts table, stand up tables for guests to rest their drinks and small plates and way too many people trying to recover from the ceremony and escape the heat. All within probably 600 sq ft. I would have it outdoors if the weather cooperates. - The location of the manor is right off the highway and not more than a 10 minute drive to Target or Walmart if you need any emergency supplies. I had to take a 30 minute break from the wedding to get allergy medication. -They had some workers in lime green polo shirts and jeans which I didn't find to be terribly appropriate wedding uniforms. They definitely stood out. It is possible they worked for an outside vendor but they were taking out the trash so I doubt it. -Self-parking! This was really convenient because I was in and out of my car a few times during the night. MAJOR SIDENOTE: Not relevant to 2015 but I have to say, waiting for the ceremony procession, I had a lot of time to think and look around. I definitely got the impression that this was once Rose Hill Plantation turned Manor sometime circa early second half of the 20th century. For me personally, this makes or breaks the venue hunting. I welcome the venue's owner to comment on this review and tell me I'm dead wrong - that the early owners had no slaves here - but I find it easier to trust my gut feeling by the fact there is no information about the manor's history on their website. The jumping of the broom at the end of the ceremony was too much irony for me to bear. read more

We fell in love with this venue from the moment we pulled into the parking lot, Gustavo gave us a tour of the location and it was wonderful, he was very professional and answered all of our questions. We left there being sure that was where we wanted to have our special day. We then spoke to Antonio and he was just as professional and sweet as Gustavo was we booked it instantly. Last month, my husband and I had the pleasure of being married at Rose Hill Manor. Besides choosing my husband, selecting Rose Hill Manor as my venue was seriously the best decision I could have made. Leading up to the wedding, Antonio and Gustavo were kind, generous, and easy going with me, my family, and my many vendors. On our wedding day, despite all the planning in the world, things would have easily fallen apart if it weren't for Antonio and Gustavo's professionalism and work ethic to provide superior customer service. The weather did not cooperate, vendors ran late, and my Day of Coordinator essentially failed under pressure. With the blink of an eye (and without any prompting), the Rose Hill staff stepped in to make certain that our wedding was stunning, ran on schedule, and that none of our guests were remotely aware of all the chaos that was diverted behind the scenes. In all honesty, the Rose Hill staff generously performed outside their scope of duties in order to save the day. This home is amazingly beautiful and is capable of accommodating guests with ease, and with grace. Comments to the effect that the owners are either inflexible or incompatible is in my experience more of a reflection on others than the owners, for the people at Rose Hill Manor are kind, cordial, understanding. They are conscious that the Manor is unique and treat it so. read more

Zero Stars. The contract has holes the management can drive a truck through. Of course one would expect a contract that requires one to pay for damages. But for damages done by the caterer that is the Rose Hill caterer? Not only that but you will be charged penalty fees in addition to the cost of the damage. $100 for each stain plus cost to clean. You might expect some clarification of the word stain in a contract that charges you a penalty for each stain - are two drops of red wine separated by a few inches one stain or two? That is up to the discretion of Antonio. Have your lawyer look at the contract, like we did, he will tell you not to sign it without modification. Antonio will tell you he will work with you on the contract but that was a lie, when it comes time to put pen to paper he'll tell you he won't do it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! read more
