Staff was very apologetic and asked if I can come at 12:30 instead. No prob since there's free parking across the street and I needed lunch anyways. Came back at 12:30 and had to wait a bit but I was fine with it. Got suggestions on nail colors and were offered some newer polishes! Staff are really kind and clean. Minh got me in the day after I called for a pedicure. I rarely get my nails done but needed something special for my daughter's wedding. Salon is in the Alaska Junction so easy for me to access. I started going to Rose Nails the first week they were open nearly 10 years ago. I've never been so loyal to a salon, and I will continue to be. Rose is lovely. My nails are gorgeous,... they are hand model gorgeous thanks to Rose. I get uv gel nails, pedicures and eyebrow waxing every month. Rose is meticulous - only using files assigned to me or metal tools that can be sanitized. The staff is friendly and flexible. I recommend them to everyone! It's a small shop so I would recommend making an appointment, and note they do not take credit cards, but they do accept checks. There is a 3 hour parking lot across the street. So sorry to be the Debbie downer here, especially after the great reviews and the loyal enthusiasm I saw from clients in the shop. I came here on a whim, they were friendly and got me in with no wait, it was also 2 in the afternoon on a Friday. I got a basic mani and pedi, but unfortunately the nail polish was either old or they didn't put a seal on it properly because in less than a few hours, the paint peeled off the nail completely. Thinking it was just a fluke, I put a band-aid on it to cover up as I was minutes from walking out the door. But then the rest of the night my nail polish kept peeling off. By the next day, most of the nail polish had peeled off all the nails, and not just chipped here and there but the entire paint would peel off. Big waste of money. I had to get a new manicure done, and instead of going back to West Sea like I should have to give them a chance to right this wrong, time was of the essence. I've been all over Seattle, and had pedis from $12 to $100. At $30 a spa pedi Rose is THE BEST. Decor is simple and no fuss, but her massage chairs and jet foot tubs, combined with her amazing skills and attention to quality and detail (not to mention her foot massage) make her the BEST. I've loyally been going to her for 2 years and she always knows me by name, and remembers what has been going on in my life. She does this with all her clients. It's amazing. I cannot recommend this shop enough. Do make appointments though, as there are only two seats, and Rose likes to give you top quailty, so no fast in & out like the other salons. read more

After reading all these positive reviews, I decided to book an appointment for a mani/pedi for the day after Christmas. They were open, joy! The place was small but clean, and the woman who did my nails (not rose), was very nice to talk to and did a nice job on my feet and toes. My feet feel soft and the color was applied very nicely even though I have small nails. However, I paid for a french manicure and instead got a disaster. The lines are uneven, the white line is extremely chunky and honestly? I am embarrassed at these nails. I wish I had chosen a solid color. I wish I had just done them myself. I am so incredibly disappointed that my experience getting my nails done in FOREVER (it's been several years) has turned me off of having my nails done by anyone but myself. read more

Rose herself is great! I wear very short and red nails and am probably the pickiest around. Her top coat is great, actually lasts for more than a week. Great customer service, she uses my name and remembers. They dont overbook so an appointment is needed. read more

Everyone here is really nice! And I love the gel on my nails--it's nearly indestructible! I never used to bother doing my nails because painting them at home, they start chipping within a day or two. I made an appointment for a mani/pedi here based on the Yelp reviews. I didn't get the name of the lady who did my nails, but she was awesome! She gave such wonderful massages both during the pedicure & the manicure. I asked her to do a 1930s half-moon manicure and she did such a beautiful job!! It's been a while since I've been there since I've worked at places where I could get discounted spa treatments, but she did my eye brows for a couple of years for only $10! I admit, I was a bit scared to let a nail shop touch my eye brows.... But I'm telling you - Don't be!! Rose is amazing! On a whim I stopped in to Rose Nails this afternoon and boy, I'm glad I did. Located in the West Seattle Junction, next door to "Twilight" and around the corner from "Easy Street" record store - this small salon is easy to miss - but don't! The atmosphere was relaxing, the salon was clean and the music (thankfully, not the usual TV blaring in the corner) was a little too "muzak" but added to the calm. I asked for my usual trio of services: manicure, pedicure, eyebrow wax. The spa pedi was thorough and relaxing. The now usual foot, ankle, calf massage lasted just long enough and the sugar scrub was a nice touch. My manicure was precise and relaxing as well. The eyebrow wax was probably the least painless I've experienced to date. Overall - the cost for the three services was $50, plus tip was $60. A perfect price for a perfect little neighborhood salon. It's a nice clean location, convenient being right in the Junction, easy to get a last minute appointment and the technician was nice and tentative. I got shellac like I have been for the last year and what typically last for at least 2 weeks was already chipped by day 3. That's why I gave them a 3 star rating. I wish I remembered to take a before and after pic. The overall application seemed even except the tips of my nails all kind of looked bubbled like the polish was applied thicker at the tips, which may have been what caused them to chip easier. I got a regular manicure at Rose Nails a week ago and it STILL HASN'T CHIPPED! Usually when I get a regular manicure, I either smudge it trying to get my keys out of my purse on the way home, or it chips a day or two later. I am in shock that I still have no chips! The salon is very small and is definitely a no frills salon. I did not make an appointment but got there just in time. 3 people came in after me and were turned away because they were busy. One annoying thing is that it's cash only. They don't really advertise this very well until it's time to pay. Luckily I read the Yelp reviews and new prior to going there. Excited to treat ourselves, myself and two family members went to Rose nails for basic pedicures. Not hard to mess up. My cousin and aunt and I were seated in chairs to wait for the pedicurist after 15 minutes of waiting and another 5-20 minutes for the nail technician. The pedicures were not good. They were short and bad. I didn't receive a top coat, and my cousin only got one coat of white nail polish. The women who did mine obviously hadn't been trained as she painted my nails as of my 7 year old niece had done it. It is chipped and super textured after 1 day. My aunt repainted an entire toenail when she got home because it was done so poorly. And for $28 each + tip?? Take your money elsewhere. Do not recommend. read more

The salon is clean and in a convenient location for you to enjoy the junction if they have a wait. Their polish selections are poor and the quality of the polish is not good. My cuticles were barely taken care of and after 35 minutes of drying in front of a freezing cold fan my nails are still not dry. When they told me I was dry and I showed them it wasn't they insisted and immediately 3 nails smudged while paying. Pro tip: be prepared for a 30 minute wait even if you have an appt, do shellac and layer your clothing to stay warm in the salon. read more
