When booking, I asked for a 90 min massage. When I went to pay, I was "overcharged" by $30. When I asked why, they said it was because I added in a 20 min foot massage. When he asked about my feet during the massage, I understood it to mean "is it ok to include your feet"? The massage was fantastic and I just paid the additional $30 and left, as it was late in the evening. A day or two later, I received a text asking how things went. I explained what happened and we were able to come to an agreement about the situation. The massage was FANTASTIC. I ended up in positions I didn't know I could be in, with muscles that I didn't know existed, getting worked on. I would 100% go back but next time I would make sure I understood that additional fees could be added during the massage. read more

Everything about this experience was exceptional. I know, massage in a mall can be hit or miss. Noisy people walk by with annoying conversatios but the services themselves were extraordinary. Sam gave me both a chair massage and a foot massage and regularly ensured that the pressure was right. He was caring and skilled but always conscious of my needs. Today I booked a 60 min massage. you cant get naked for an hour long massage. never turned me around. didn't do lower body well. ive had full body before and just felt like 80% back and a quick run through arms and legs. hot stones was nice touch though. there's just a lack of communication with the client, don't even talk to you before hand and ask you what you're looking for. my advise, a 60 minute $80 massage shouldnt be treated like a 10 minute chair massage in a mall. read more

I absolutely love this place . The message therapists are kind, knowledgeable and almost all of them are great at their job. I have with certainty never had a bad massage here! I love them so much I even got my hubby here for a deep tissue and he loved it as much as I do. Sean is amazing and every-time I have had a massage from him I walk out the door feeling brand new. This place is great! I was working a contract job off of 2nd near waterfront and sitting at a desk for 8-10 hours was really taking a toll on my body. So I hopped online and found Rose Petal within a quick 10 minute walk. I was able to book appointments online with ease and they got me in everyday I needed. Super easy access in the Pioneer Plaza Mall. A quick 20 or 30 minute chair massage to really focus on areas of pain/discomfort with a skilled & knowledgable therapist was just what I needed. It was great being able to communicate exactly what was hurting and to have adequate focus. This is so much more than the typical chair massages you can find in the Mall or the Chinese acupressure places (which I love - but those are very cookie cutter everyone gets the same thing). Pricing is pretty standard, a 30 minute chair massage I believe was ~$35 + tip. A price that I was more than willing to pay to alleviate some discomfort. I'd definitely be back, or recommend this place to anyone who's visiting from out of town and finding they're tired & sore from all the walking. read more

Honestly, I would love to give even more than 5 stars! Shanae was the best massage therapist I've ever been to, and I've seen 'em all. From the moment I met her, I was relaxed. Her energy and presence are incredibly warm and calm. She was an extremely intuitive therapist, she worked out all my kinks and stress I was carrying around. I can legitimately say this was the best massage I've ever had. Don't let the location fool you, even though it's inside a mall, the staff is passionate about making massage and reflexology accessible to people from all walks of life. I was visiting Portland and before my flight, I had many hours to kill. The idea of a deep tissue massage sounded perfect so I look/yelp around and I couldn't find anyone available. I was in the mall and I saw this place and read the yelp reviews. I decided to give it a try and relax for an hour. Scott is friendly but I paid for deep tissue and he gave me a softer that rose petals massage. I'm giving it three stars since the purpose of rest (lay down) for an hour after a long walk in downtown and before heading to the airport was accomplished. Just came into Rose Pedal for a drop-in massage. Met with Belita as my therapist and OhMyGoodness! This woman can read what body is saying. I had low back pain and I came for mostly this reason and I was BLOWN AWAY at how much relief I felt afterwards. My only complaint is the fact my room didn't have any walls. I could hear the mall patrons clearly and without a front desk person, several customers started shouting to get someone's attention since my session was closest to the door, my massage time had less hands on time then I paid for. They need to changed the description of this business to "by appointment only". It's so hard to get a chair massage or table massage here if you are just a walk in customer. I used to be able to get a massage here without waiting for too long because they always have enough employees worked at that time. Now, I had to wait for 20 minutes then when I came back they told me it was another 15 minutes because someone came by when I was not there. Why they don't make her wait or how she got in before my 20 minutes waiting time was a mystery to me. The latest visit, we got there at 5:30 on Tuesday evening and it was only one employee worked for that evening. She was about to do her appointment and told me that she booked for the rest of the evening. It will be nice if they have another employee there. I stop trying to go there now. When we first got to Portland we got a map and started to plan our day ahead. We stayed at the Marriott Downtown and we saw that the Zoo was potentially nearby and so we wanted to go and decided to walk there. However, the map wasn't drawn to scale at all. So after 2-3 hours of walking around in beautiful green sceneries going uphill and eventually stumbling upon not yet bloomed rose garden we eventually just decided to go back to town. Hopefully finding our way back to civilization where we could possibly get a foot massage. After stopping by three different spas with no availability we found ourselves in the Pioneer Plaza, the big mall Downtown Portland and were directed by another salon to go to Rose Petal Massage & Spa. Over it, my friend and I just wanted a massage with no interest in shopping at all. Thankfully! We were both able to get in at least 30 minutes one after the other. It's a nice little space, the rooms were only covered with black curtains, being able to hear everything around you even through the relaxing music being played. The table warmed up which was great because coming from a warm climate to a much cooler one was comforting. My therapist was really nice and was super strong. 30 minutes flew passed as she loosened the knots in my back. To be honest I think I might have fallen asleep. It was that great. This place was also 50% cheaper than all the other places we visited. They were smaller and they just so happened to be able to fit us in. I also know how busy salons and spas get with my experience as a receptionist so always book in advance! Massage therapists are great people and are always open to adjusting their pressure to your liking so don't forget to speak up and relax! read more

I was feeling pretty desperate after returning home from Spain and couldn't get into my regular massage therapist. I decided to look and see if I could book the same day at this place. To my surprise the time they had open was perfect! I booked a deep tissue 45 minute table massage. Troy was my masseuse and he was WONDERFUL. Very strong hands and lots of deep tissue work, which is exactly what I needed. I felt amazing afterwards and still the next day I felt really good. I don't have the pain I was having when I went in. I highly recommend Troy if you go there. I will definitely be back! The only cons are: That it's a little noisy because of the people out in the mall, but I honestly wasn't focused on that most of the time, so it wasn't too bad. The only other thing was that I had a little trouble finding them as I am not familiar with this mall. I came in and wasn't sure what floor they were on and the elevator didn't have the correct floor for them either. I walked around quite a bit until I could find a directory to guide me. I think if they put on their website what floor they are on that would be super helpful for people who are not familiar with the shops in this mall. Likely hundreds of dollars. It's great and convenient and usually not crowded, and it's a great relief from office work. The people there are nice and polite, and are great at massage. If you go, which I still suggest you do, don't make it on a Friday, and call ahead to reserve your appointment. Original review: Make sure you get an appointment! My friend and I walked in to get a massage as we usually do and had a woman tell us that she was busy and to come back at 4pm. That was perfectly fine with me. This was a walk in, so I didn't mind to wait. I told her, "yes, I'll be back at 4Pm" and my friend and I left to wait at the yoghurt place a short distance away. We waited patiently until 4Pm. We walked back in at exactly 4Pm to find a big crowd of people there. Apparently they had booked enough massages after we left that the next available appointment was at 5:10. They said that they didn't think we'd come back. What does arriving precisely at 4Pm say about not coming back? That's after we waited a full 20 minutes for a massage. Next time they tell me to come back I'm going to sit on their couch and physically wait for an appointment and stare at them to make sure they don't book anyone in front of me. I wanted a short massage, and I was prepared to wait a half hour or so, but I didn't want to wait 1.5 hours out of work to have a 20 minute massage. We left quite angrily. Apparently a lot of people say they'll come back at a certain time and they never do. I guess they thought we were those types of people. They could have at least asked if we'd like to make an appointment for 4Pm. They didn't seem very upset about it either. After this experience, I realize their "walk ins" sign isn't very accurate. I get massages regularly, but my LMT is in Tigard and I work downtown. Sometimes I just need something to get me through the week, so it was nice to discover Rose Petal Massage at Pioneer Place. I really like their online appointment system. (For those of you reading negative reviews of this place about having trouble walking in for a massage, I'd recommend you make an appointment on your smartphone then come back in at that time.) After you've secured an appointment, here's what you need to know: PROS: the swedish massage by Dawn Pearce was really nice. She gave me a full body relaxing massage, something that an overworked person like myself really needed. She was on time for the appointment (I was the first of the day), and she gave me a FULL HOUR massage, not a 1 hour appointment like some other facilities do. She was attentive to my needs and did a great job. So you'll really enjoy yourself once you relax into the massage moment. Also, the price of the massage is really good. In downtown Portland, you can normally expect to pay upwards of $80 for a one hour massage. $65 an hour is really a good deal, and you get a discount if you work in the mall or in the Pioneer tower (as I do). CONS: you're in a MALL. They are required to leave the front door open, and the only thing separating you from the shoppers and other store customers is a couple of thin curtains hanging from wires hooked in the ceiling. You will hear kids screaming, people's conversations, squeaking mechanical noises from the escalators, and (the worse) bad jazz standard programming from Pioneer Place's awful music system. Just when I started getting into the zone, I'd suddenly hear some awful echoey saxophone, big band 50s song, or a soaring voice over a ballad belting it out as if they were in front of the judges on American Idol. I did mention the cacophony to Dawn, and she said mall management wouldn't allow her the freedom to install soundproof rooms, which would be a terrific improvement. OVERALL: I will be back, but next time, with headphones! And if they're able to get that long-term lease and install soundproof rooms in the back, I'd be happy to change the rating to 5 stars. read more

His name slipped my memory but I'm the gal from San Diego that went in on Saturday at 4pm. Anyways, he was the best masseuse I ever had.
