Sometimes emergencies or rush situations happen and scheduling medical transport with wheelchair capability can be a serious hassle since most transport requires advanced scheduling and planning. COMPARISONS - Sadly many insurance don't cover non-emergency medical transport. Getting old isn't cheap and medical transport isn't either, compared to other similar services ANEMT rates are average to a little better. MetroWest transport is the most popular and great, but they are constantly booked at least 1-2 days out or 5-10 hours for same day. MetroWest also has stair capable wheelchairs and stretchers by request and door to door service. TriMet offers basic medical transport for fairly cheap via shuttle, but they don't offer door to door so you'll need someone to push if the chair isn't motorized and electric. Uber and Lyft have wheelchair capable vehicles, but again, no door to door service and requires advanced scheduling. Interestingly Kaiser Washington State insurance covers non-emergency transport, but not in Oregon. Above and beyond - Along with being able to respond quickly with door to door service, they helped with transferring inside the home to and from the wheelchair. Aways super nice and friendly guys. Easy pay via credit card through a tex message link or over the phone. Have questions, be sure to ask, they are very helpful and accommodating. Good service, responsive, fast and better pricing than most. Thanks for taking good care of our family.

Making my way down Burnside rain or dry darkness (I go to my office quite early) it is this station that I await my chariot, or rather streetcar. It seems to always be neat and in good order, plus that little running sign that give out semi-accurate information has yet to be completely wrong! I tend to find myself among a host of unique and interesting humans. Some venturing to work like myself, some I think just venturing home from the night before, others not venturing much at all but rather just enjoying our little stations hospitality. There is also a doughnut shop in the parking lot adjacent to the stop, greeting us all with the aroma of fresh and I'm sure delicious pastries. We have a little covered area to gather under on particularly wet days; those are the morning that we all get to know each other a bit more (one of us doesn't brush regularly and another wears too much cologne, but they shall remain private to retain the integrity of our little station's group). What makes things extra exciting is the 6, yes the 6! It too stops at our station providing just a little extra entertainment just before our CL arrives. If you haven't caught a ride here yet, be sure to do soon before the word gets out just how great 2167 is!!

The pros: -Near popular areas such as the convention center and the Moda center -Public transit across the street -cheap -the rooms are spacious The cons: -Dirty and run down -Outdated furniture -Questionable looking folks around the area may make you feel paranoid -No breakfast (although I wouldn't want to try theirs) The customer service is okay. They only provide room service if you specifically ask. Everything worked for me (hot water, TV, hair dryer, lights, heater/AC). There are rooms on the quiet street vs the loud street, you just gotta pick the more expensive option when checking out. There is a door chain lock for extra security. The location isn't that bad, I didn't see any homeless in the immediate area. And upon doing research Lloyd district isn't the worst area in Portland. Although not too many amazing restaurants nearby. Oh, there was a stain on the carpet that looked like something out of a crime scene (see pic). I covered it with a towel for peace of mind.

If I could give the hotel a negative-star review, I would. The only thing this facility has going…read morefor it is its proximity to the Convention Center. EVERYTHING ELSE was horrid--the worst hotel experience of my life. My mom, my two grown sons, and I had planned to stay at the Inn at the Convention Center while I competed in the fencing Summer Nationals being held across the street. My mom, who arrived earlier than I did, warned me that the place was pretty disgusting, the key cards did not work well, and the interior handle of her room was missing a screw and would come off in her hand when she tried to open the door (she had to stick a plastic coffee stirrer through the screw hole to hold the handle in place so she could open the door from the inside). When I checked-in at 1:30am, two other guests came into the lobby complaining that their key cards did not work, so I anticipated a problem with our cards, too. After I went back to the lobby twice to re-key the cards, the single staff member working the entire facility came up to try the door himself. When it did not work for him, he said it seemed like MAYBE SOMEONE WAS IN THERE(!) and had slid a deadbolt across the doorway (spoiler alert: the rooms did not have interior dead bolts; the cards just didn't work). He went back down to check the computer to make sure the room was free of guests and to get a master keycard. He returned, saying that the room was definitely booked to me, but after he used the master keycard to open the door, he turned on the light and THERE WERE INDEED OTHER PEOPLE IN THE ROOM! As far as I could tell, they slept through the intrusion. He quickly shut the door, turned to us, and said, "Oh, that's too bad...I don't have any more rooms available." By now it was 2:30am and we had spent an hour checking in and trying to get the door open. I told him I expected a full refund and that we would stay in my mom's room for the night. As we were hauling our luggage up to my mom's room, he returned saying that he did have one room, but that he would need about 15 minutes to get it ready (i.e., it hadn't been cleaned since the last guests and he was going to do it himself). I declined the offer, complaining that I had to compete in the biggest tournament of my life in a few hours and could not wait any longer for a room, and that my mom, two adult sons, and I would share her double queen room instead. Her room was the FILTHIEST hotel room I have ever seen; the carpets were stained and gritty. Though appearing clean, the bathroom was in bad shape: the laminate flooring had bubbled up and made crunchy sounds when you stepped on it. After I told my mom about the problems with the key cards, she revealed that the person working in the afternoon had given her a MASTER keycard to use...how many other guests were given them, too?! We booked a different hotel for the remainder of our stay, since the Inn at the Convention Center is NOT SAFE OR SANITARY! The staff didn't care about or apologize for the booking or keycard issues. Their apathy leads me to believe these problems occur regularly, that they're just par for the course. They did refund my mom for the three remaining nights she did not stay at the hotel, so that at least is good, but, still, DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE!!!

Just leaning against the wall, just reeking of pot stench, just hawking lung oysters onto the sidewalk, just shouting obscenities, just losing their shit and yelling and screaming at passersby, just freaking the f out and arguing with others like them who happen to be on the other side of the street, just generally being obnoxious asshats. Hey, no, I don't want to buy a joint. Hey, no, I don't want to share yours. Hey, no, I don't have a fucking quarter. Hey, it's not funny when you stand close to me just to see if I'll move three steps away because you smell like ass. I will always move three steps away. Before you get all up in my face about the plight of the homeless, let me assure you I understand their challenges. I am sympathetic to their plight. At the same time, though, I am unwilling to put up with their shit, and I shouldn't have to. These folks need to be encouraged to congregate somewhere else. This is a MAX station, and I don't have the luxury of waiting somewhere else, this is the station, this is where I wait. These loiterers, however, encased in their cloud of pot and engaged in their daily dramas, can get their freak on any old where - and they should be encouraged to find a different spot. Encouraged by people in uniforms, with badges, who have the command presence to say, you can act like this all you want, but you can't do it here.

The gentlemen we had were friendly and took care of all of our luggage. The company has great communication. We were scheduled to be picked up at 4:45am but at around 9pm the night before I started getting nervous that we should leave a few minutes earlier, so I sent them an email asking if we could leave at 4:30am instead, really not expecting anyone to respond in time. They actually emailed me back within 10 minutes and confirmed the earlier pick-up time. Then, our return flight landed at PDX (an unheard of!) 40 minutes early. As soon as we touched down I texted the number to see if there would be any way someone could come pick us up for 40 minutes earlier than planned, again not necessarily expecting a response - especially since it was close to midnight. However, they texted me back instantly that my driver would be in touch with me soon, and sure enough our driver texted me within a few minutes. By the time we grabbed our suitcases off of the conveyor and walked a few minutes to the curb, our driver was already there and waiting despite us being 40 minutes early - and, again, it was close to midnight on a Wednesday. We are customers for life!

Everything we own packed was into seven suitcases, and so we needed help to get from the airport to our hotel in Salem. The choice was an Uber, which would not have worked for our situation, or a luxury car service. Hewar was wonderful from when I first called him to arrange our trip. He was attentive and patient, even when I called him multiple times with questions. The manager, Rasheem, met us at baggage claim. Our driver, Zhieco, was professional and friendly. He helped us get our (very heavy) luggage into the hotel. On the other hand, the company I called first did not give me a chance to explain why we needed help at baggage claim. As soon as he heard that, he immediately said he couldn't help me. He threatened to post my phone number online when I wrote him a one-star review. I was shocked. I would've taken it down, regardless, because I don't post bad reviews. So, I was especially glad to talk with Hewar on my second phone call. I highly recommend Elite. If I ever need a service like this again, I will for sure call Hewar.
