Hotel Eastlund's has a bar called Metropolitan Tavern it is seriously one of the city's best kept secrets. The rooftop bar is wild in a good way. All that modern glass wrapping around the inside space gives you a killer view from every angle. Totally the kind of spot you walk into and instantly feel chill. They've got a solid happy hour and even private dining (I didn't try it, but hey, options are nice). The staff was on point super friendly and actually seemed to enjoy being there, which is always a plus. The vibe is nice, relaxed, and a little chic without trying too hard. The menu is full of interesting, shareable plates and those fancy handmade cocktails that make you feel like you're treating yourself without blowing the budget. Pricing is moderate, especially for how good everything is. Definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to. if it doesn't get too popular after this review.

RE/MAX Equity Group award ceremony and brunch

The meeting space was great that hosted my companies award ceremony and brunch. Parking was easy with valet and a straight shot up the elevators I arrived to a room with a great view and held a huge amount of people. The food at the brunch buffet style was just ok, but the staff helping with service were all very nice. The front desk were nice when asking for directions to the restroom and the conference center. I did not stay at this hotel just here for a work thing and it served its purpose.

Convenient and clean hotel in Portland. Nice view from my window. Fitness center was small but functional. I never had to wait for a treadmill or equipment. They even have a TRX setup. Would stay again.

The hotel is just a 7-minute walk from the Moda Center, making it the perfect choice for my trip to see a show there. But what really impressed me was everything else. The staff was welcoming, the room spacious, the shower heavenly. The Keurig worked perfectly, the TV had endless channels and casting, the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and there was ample storage, seating, and lighting. Most importantly, I actually slept through the night without a single disturbance from guests or staff--a first for me in any hotel. I couldn't recommend it more. My only request? Please stock creamers in the room so I don't have to resort to this:

I did not stay at the Hotel Eastlund but I did eat at the roof top restaurant twice. And I wanted to share pictures of the vibes in their lobby. This is a Best Western Hotel. Enjoy the pictures.

Staying at this hotel in Portland was a great decision! It's a affordable yet chic property and they have comfortable beds. The rooms are a good size and we did not hear any neighbors. Bathroom is decent and they have enough basic amenities to satisfy my needs. Valet parking overnight is $36 with in and out privileges. The max light rail is right outside of the hotel.

Our 5 day stay was amazing from start to finish! Everyone was exceptionally friendly and helpful, our room was cleaned daily and it was a nice room! We also checked out their rooftop bar, which was also very scenic and had a great vibe

    Black mold on windowsills

Been here multiple times with my fiancé and kids. This last time was disappointing we stayed one night and in the morning I went to open up the curtians and there was so much very noticeable black mold all over the windowsills. we took pictures and videos and when presenting them to the front desk the guy told us it's just dust and grout from them preparing to install new windows? Unfortunately for him we are not idiots. 1. we know what black mold looks like. And dust doesn't grow fuzz 2. My fiancè is a contractor and knows there is no grout in the windows 3. Regardless if it was somthing other than mold, Why wasn't it cleaned before our stay? I told him it looked like the windowsills hadnt been cleaned in a WHILE. as he just brushed us off and told us to have a good day. We left in good faith as we weren't about to argue with a man who can't tell the difference between dust and black mold WITH picture and video evidence. we will be calling management. Room 301 is a no go.

I really can't say enough great things about Hotel Eastlund. I booked it for a work trip and was excited to check it out after seeing such great reviews on Yelp. The Eastlund did not disappoint. Technically it's a Best Western property (part of their more upscale series) but it had that small, boutique hotel feel. The public areas, elevators, and rooms were clean. The place felt very safe. Everything was quiet. And if I can just say: their staff was absolutely the friendliest I have ever experienced at a hotel. From the valets greeting us with a smile (even in frigid temps) to the amazing front desk staff to the housekeepers to the restaurant staff...it reminded me of being on a cruise ship. I found myself WANTING to find reasons to come to Portland again just so I can stay here! They do have required valet parking, with a $36/night fee which is standard (actually even a little low) for the area. I didn't notice any nearby street parking or private lots but there may be cheaper options. Public transportation was nearby. Definitely try out their rooftop tavern, the Metropolitan! And there's a Denny's across the street so you can avoid on-site Citizen Baker, which could not possibly be associated directly with this hotel as my experience there (see recent review) was completely different than the amazingness experienced throughout the rest of the property.

Stayed over the long MLK weekend and overall a good stay. I couldn't sleep due to the outside noises so I won't be back. However still some good perks. Pro: + location - 7 mins walk from Moda Center (Go Trailblazer) + friendly staff + comfy bed + access to bakery/cafe and rooftop bar +ihome (charge your iPhone and play music) Con: + could hear the public transit running all night (at least I didn't hear my next door neighbors - guess that's another pro) Pretty affordable too.

This art is even more stunning in person!

This is an upscale hotel with incredible art (done by Portland's 'Studio Art Direct',) a fabulously comfortable bed and huge shower. The suite had amazing views with its floor-to-ceiling windows. It is nearby some of the few remaining downtown diners, and it's close to a major tram stop. Unfortunately, however, it has some of the less desirable traits of the appealing laid-back culture which Portland is known for. We work when we travel, so our space is important to us. Sadly, the carpet in our room was filthy and stained, the housekeeper left dishes, dirty towels and garbage and the room service food was cold and tasteless. Pick up your game and our loyalty will be guaranteed! Thank you, Torena O'Rorke

Hotel Eastlund became our hub during my recent trip to Portland. Located across from the Convention Center and the Red Line MAX station, it was the perfect, convenient stop getting to/from PDX and downtown. We stayed in a King Size room for three nights and it was a comfortable stay. Bed was firm yet soft, there was a little office area with extra space for plugs, and robes were provided. We enjoyed the more modern aesthetics of the rooms and felt we were getting our moneys worth. Some other highlights of our stay: - I loved the texting feature that allows you to message guest services if you had any questions or need anything, 24/7 - Room was clean and well air-conditioned during our stay - Staff were very friendly Parts that could've been better: - The shower was a bit weird. There was no tub and the shower door was locked in place with a hole near the center for some reason. Shower head water pressure wasn't the greatest but because of this, it never really made a splash onto the floor. - There weren't a lot of easily accessible outlets on both nightstands, so we ended up unplugging their alarm in order to make space for a phone charger. Getting in and out was alright. You have to climb a set of stairs or take a ramp leading into the valet parking lot if you have accessibility needs. It was a bit confusing at first, but you eventually find your way up to the main entrance. Overall, Eastlund was a really nice budget hotel to stay in while exploring the city. I wouldn't mind staying here again in the future.

    Is the valet parking on-site?

As of 8/8/21 there was valet parking on-site when I arrived!

Is there a better side/room that I should request?

We are loving room 312! We got a great view of the Rose Parade route this rainy morning

Home base for 3 nights while I was in town for a friend's wedding…read more I've been coming to PDX for nearly 9 years now, but this was my first time staying downtown. I've always stayed with a friend who lives outside of town. My stay here was enjoyable. Most notably, the bed was super comfortable and soft. I slept so well. The blackout curtains was a nice touch. The weather didn't permit for early morning activities so I always slept in. I took one star for a couple of reasons. First being that I tried to check in about an hour before the 4pm checkin time thinking it would be accommodated, but alas that was not the case. I checked in my luggage and walked across the bridge and got a much needed caffeinated beverage. I got back under an hour and was finally able to get in my room. The room was clean, but not even 5 mins into me unpacking, housekeeping was at my front door asking if I had found anything in the drawer. There was in fact the previous guest's clothing in 2 of the drawers. So yeah, that was off putting. The second thing is that there was in fact no tea in my room. It would've been nice to have it at night when it was colder. Pros: I appreciated that the bathroom had all the products needed which was perfect since I forgot to bring shampoo. Also not a fan of the daily charge for the amenities. Personally, I think only the guests who use the fitness facilities should be charged said fees. It feels like highway robbery to be charged $29 daily when you don't use the gym. What if I was here a full week? That's bonkers. I got to use the gym the day I checked out. This area was dramatically quieter than the other side of the bridge. That's where the riff raffery was. It always felt so relaxing as soon as I entered the front door. As soon as I got to my room, it was silence. The Providence Park tram stop is just 2 mins away on foot. This means you can take the red line to the airport ins of taking an uber. I made sure to have breakfast at Gracie's and a nightcap at Driftwood, both on the opposite side of reception.

After my stay, I had left my hairdryer in the room. The next day I called hoping they would be able to ship it to me. Cat (Kat?) answered the phone and said she found it. I know she found it because she also asked if I had left a brush, which I did. She said she could ship it, but just needed me to pay for shipping first, asked for my email, and said she would send an email to handle that. I never received an email. After a few days, I asked my mom, who is local, if she could just go down and pick it up since I was heading out of the country for a week. She went down to the hotel, but was told they didn't have it. Not only that but there were no notes in the system about it either. Zero information about my previous call or that they were waiting for payment to ship it. So I again called and got Thomas who searched everywhere and couldn't find it any longer. I asked for a manager to call me, this was 2 days ago. Still no call. I can only assume at this point that an employee stole my expensive hair dryer, which is why there were no notes about it and I never received any emails. I'd avoid this hotel in the future. Update 4/30/2026: Since posting this review, the situation has gotten significantly worse. On April 13, I received an automated text from ILeftMyStuff, the hotel's own lost and found system, confirming my hair dryer and brush were found and logged on March 1. I paid for return shipping through their system that same day and never received my items. On April 19 I called and spoke with a staff member named Claudia who confirmed the hotel had my items and would ship them. She later walked that back, saying she had only assumed they were there because they appeared on an internal list. I had previously requested a manager call me back. That call never came. Today the hotel is claiming the items were disposed of on April 1. This is the same staff member, Cat, who originally found my items and confirmed she had them. When my mother went to the hotel in person and when I called, we were both told they had no record of the items whatsoever. They did not notify me before disposing of them despite having my contact information on file from my original call. Note that my original review was posted last month, before April 1 when they supposedly "disposed" of my items.
