I have been working with Rose for about 4 years now. I had the original 10 session treatment about 1 1/2 yrs after a car accident, and it was exactly what I needed. Rose and I have an excellent working relationship, I can explain to her what I'm feeling in my body, and she listens on a biomechanical level. I think the Rolfing method is an excellent system for structural integration and balance. Most people would describe Rolfing as "deep tissue" or "it hurts." I would describe it more as "deep stretching." I think because I am a former college athlete, I have a different relationship to what I consider "pain." With deep breathing our work together feels more like stretching to me. With over 15 years of experience, Rose brings sensitivity, awareness, knowledge and experience to the table. Rose has the highest regard for her clients and her craft, and is dedicated to excellence for both. I highly recommend Rolfing to everyone, although, it may not be appropriate for everyone. Rose Sher has trained in many different techniques and assesses your body, alignment, wellness etc. before deciding which of her many tools she'll use on you for maximum effectiveness. A while back I had a ski accident going down a black diamond and herniated a disc in my lower back. Since then I have had cortisone shots, physical therapies, chiropractic work, lots of massages, personal trainers, yoga...I can keep going. Annoyed and tired of shelling out money for things that make me feel better for a day. I agreed to the 10 sessions, a bit wary of such a commitment. I'm almost finished with my series and I felt I needed to write a review because I'm pretty blown away by her. Have you ever had a massage and felt like the therapist doesn't actually feel any of your muscles? This is NOT Rose- she has this keen ability to find all the spots in you body that hurt and release the pressure. She works to really align your body again. For the first time in years my pain is now minimal. I learned so much about my body from Rose and how to help further help repair my injuries out of her office. My favorite benefit is my posture, which I didn't realize how much I appreciate. Now, when my posture is out of place from old habits it feels good to correct myself and I stand taller. Movement is just easier now, it feels like I did years of yoga to correct my posture. She really has a gift as a healer. I now feel like I also have a road map of what I need to do to maintain this feeling of wellness thanks to her. I should also mention I stopped going to the chiropractor and massages while seeing her because I didn't feel I needed to. I look forward to my last couple of sessions. Thank you Rose! I love Rose's work!! She is amazing, a true miracle worker! I had all kind of massages throughout the years with various practitioners, many different techniques, all around the world (deep tissue, Swedish, Lymphatic, Thai, Old Siam, Aromatic, Hot-stones, Mud, Japanese, Anma, Shiatsu,... you name it, I pretty much tried it). Some were very good, some not so good, but the extent of their usefulness never extended past a short time beyond the massage itself: it felt good and then it was over. With Rose, it is a totally unique and different experience: it does not specifically feel good while it's going on (you have to lay down, standup, walk around,...) BUT when you walk out, you feel awesome, you are different! It is truly incredible! she completely "re-structured" me: I walk different, I feel different, I am aware of my physical body and its motion through space; my posture is different (not hunched over as I was), I can now very easily bend over and touch the floor (which was painful before), I can perform stretches,... It's amazing!! But, the most incredible of all is that it lasts! I can still feel the benefits days (weeks) after the massage. I am physically different compared to when I walked into her place for my very first session. People even noticed my improved flexibility and posture. I attribute all these benefits to Rose's techniques, experience and probably most importantly: intuition and "natural gift"(?). What I mean is that she is natural at it. She knows her things and knows what to do. Just looking at me move around her room, she knows more about my muscles and skeleton that I will ever know about myself. She instantly knows what to do to correct and address any issue I have. A funny side note: In the past, I tried yoga. I desperately wanted to become more flexible but I have never been able to get any benefit out of it (I know, it's sad, but it's real: I am as flexible as a broom handle!). Rose CHANGED this! I am much more flexible, and I feel so much better that I am seriously thinking to go back to yoga and enjoy the difference (though there is something to be said about paying Rose for one hour body-work and get more benefits without having to perform a yoga routine... I have been working with Rose for 6 months and I can say without a doubt that she has made my body work better for me. I have more mobility in my neck, shoulders, ankles, and hips. I refer everyone I know to her because of how valuable I think her service is. Rose saved me! That sounds dramatic, but I was in a really bad place emotionally AND physically when I first went to see her. I had recovered from a total thyroidectomy due to thyroid cancer, and I was in a lot of physical pain due to scar tissue and the surgery itself. Having scar tissue in your throat is NOT fun. Every time you swallow you are uncomfortable. Rose was able to reach in and massage my scar tissue, and it is completely gone now. I cannot say how thankful and relieved I am to have found her. I am not a huge holistic medicine person but I am open to trying new things, and I'm so glad I tried this. Rose has spoiled me from ever seeking any other body work. Seriously. I've had chronic neck and back issues for 20 years. I was unsure of the benefits of Rolfing so I got started with an introductory Groupon from Rose--OMG, from the minute we started, I knew I would be in for the full 10-session series. Rose is very attentive to the individual and any special challenges. I am about 5 weeks out from completing my 10-sessions, and have scheduled 3-tune up sessions every 3-4 months--forever! I haven't felt this open, relaxed, comfortable in my own body for years (I'm in my 6th decade, very active/athletic). I sit taller naturally, bend easily and wish I would have met Rose 10 or 20 years ago. Yes, it can hurt, but Rose backs off and goes slowly to release the fascia gently. I had no bruising or lingering pain (although I hear some do). I cannot be more enthusiastic in my recommendation for Rolfing by Rose! read more

Rose is hands down THE BEST. Rolfing works. Period. She is professional, kind, and extremely attentive. Even though I have been a massage therapist for a while, I had never experienced true Rolfing. I'm incredibly grateful to have found Rose, an expert in the Rolfing technique. The average massage, for me, never resulted in long-term improvements, and it often felt like random mushing around of my body. In contrast, Rose's work feels purposeful and precise and, to my surprise and delight, has a lasting impact. I'm a registered nurse, certified personal trainer and health coach, and I spent a lot of time researching the Rolfing technique before finding Rose. My goal was to address specific areas of pain and restriction in my body, but I suspected that I would benefit by beginning with an overall whole body program in order to determine and address the true causes of dysfunction. (The source of a problem is often not what it appears.) So I opted to start with what is referred to in Rolfing as the "10 Series", and I'm THRILLED that I did because it really does what it claims: it "systematically balances and optimizes the structure and function of the entire body" (rolf.org). The precision of her technique yields immediate results that are truly awesome to experience. It's like my body is re-learning its original, perfect alignment; I'm moving with more ease and less pain on a daily basis.
