my experience is not worth one star. I dropped off two pairs of shoes one for heel protection and the other to secure bottom. $40 per show. I picked them up only to be handed to me with glue obvious from each side of the shoe. also drawn on my leather shoes with black markings to cover damage from glue. the response was well we can't return the shoes to your in new condition. I never asked new condition but to perform the repairs i asked for. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Horrible experience and wouldn't return my $ as I prepaid. read more

I paid for the guy to sew heel inserts in my slip on shoes. he made me pay up front, did not finish by the date he promised, then when I went into pick them up this morning he yelled at me saying "no more! no more! I already put 4 in. you pay more!" it was the most bizarre interaction and out of the blue. maybe he was having a bad day. I said "I'll pay whatever it costs i just want them to fit right" and he literally yelled again "no more!" and walked away. I brought my boots to Rose Taylor Alterations & Shoe Repair on January 5, requesting new heel taps and repairs for the frayed areas and scuffs on the heels. I mentioned I'd be out of town, so I gave them a full week for the repairs. However, when I returned on January 12, my boots hadn't even been started. The young woman informed me that the tailor hadn't had a chance to get to them because he's busy. Why not contact customer and advise such. The gentleman sitting there doing alterations ( he was repairmay) didn't even look up to acknowledge me as a customer while the woman spoke with him, simply dismissing the fact that my boots hadn't been prepared or repaired in a timely manner. I was very disappointed that the service I paid for wasn't even attempted, and there was no apology or concern that I had chosen to patronize their business. Instead of walking out and asking for a refund, I reluctantly accepted their offer to finish the job while I waited. The result was incredibly disappointing: the scuffs were simply sprayed over with new taps, without any proper shaving or repair. To make matters worse, my boots were handed back to me in a box while they were still wet, emitting a heavy chemical smell as I drove home. Should a customer really receive their product while it's still wet? This was a clear sign that they didn't care about the quality of the repair; they just wanted to finish the job regardless of condition. I wasted over $30 on a subpar service. If they needed more time, they should have communicated that upfront. I wouldn't recommend Rose Taylor Alterations & Shoe Repair to anyone. A truly shameful experience overall. read more

They cut the straps on my top (even though I said multiple time do NOT cut, just move over). I took in a pair of shoes to have the heels replaced, I had to pay in advance and it was much higher priced than I expected, but I hadn't had this done in quite some time, I just figured that was the going rate now. I wore the shoes twice, and one of the new heels split in half. Took them back, he replaced the heel again. I wore them maybe a dozen times, and they were wearing through again, both heels! I took them somewhere else to have them done, he did the best he could and I'm happy with them, but because of how they were repaired the first time he was not able to do them properly. I dropped my shoes off to replace both heel taps with plastic taps. The young lady stated they would be ready on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. I paid in advance. I came June 20, 2025 to pick them up. I thought my ticket was in my purse. It was not so I gave her my name and described the shoes. She brought them out. I looked and immediately said what happened to my shoes, they are ruined. They had all kinds of scratches on them. And the heels were horrible. I then looked inside one of the shoes and noticed it was a 7.5. My shoes are an 8. I told her these were not my shoes. She went back to the back to look again and couldn't find anything. Her father got involved and he stated those were my shoes and that they came in looking horrible. I said those are not my shoes. I only needed my heel taps replaced and my shoes are an 8. After going back and forth with the father who was really rude and unprofessional and was screaming at me and the young lady, I left. Once I got home, I found my receipt and box and took it back the next day. The young lady then stated that they in fact gave my shoes to the wrong person and that they attempted to call but got no answer. The father began screaming and yelling at me saying I was a bad person and to leave his store. I asked the young lady what would happen if the customer never returned them. I'm out of $21.65 for the repair and $100 for the cost I paid for my shoes. She finally refunded the $21.65 and said she'd continue to reach out to the customer. Her father, the owner and cobbler didn't want to refund the repair cost. I gave her a few days to contact the customer again. I returned June 27, 2025 and the young lady said after further investigation, these were my shoes. I just left and decided to file a complaint. They should reimburse me for the cost of my shoes they mistakenly gave to the wrong customer. And the father should apologize being so rude and unprofessional. p.s. And since I was in temporary housing at the time and unsure of where I would settle I decided it best to find someplace near my office. I pulled up my handy Yelp app and Rose was at the top of the list. I have nothing but good things to say about the service I've received. All of my visits to date have been to have pants hemmed; so nothing to complicated. They have always been ready on the due date and done as measured/pinned. I've had tailors in the past who measure/pin one thing and when they perform the work it comes out differently requiring re-work. Thankfully, I've never had that experience her. No frills here. Just good quality work at a fair price. Not the most beautiful shop in the world but more than adequate for getting some pants hemmed or a jacket tailored. I drive quite a bit out of my way to come here specifically. I've never had any issues with the many articles of clothing I've left in Sun's care, including some that are very expensive. I have been going to Rose Tailor Shoe repair for many many years but only for alterations. I have been happy with all the alteration work I have gotten even hemmed up some jeans for me once and sown curtains together for me. I decide to use them for the first time for a heel protector repair on my favorite pair of dress sandals. I told them I didn't need them for a month but was told I could pick them up in a week. The protector they used was a different color and was nailed in which I had to go home and push nails in better because it snagged the carpet. I was actually sceptical because I'd read a few scathing reviews. I took pics because of reviews jist in case I needed and decided to use them because they are close to my home and office. I am very pleased with the service provided. I dropped of 7 pairs of my (at least to me) high end shoes: Prada, Via Spiga, Ferragamo, etc and what a great job they did! I dropped off a dress for alterations and three pairs of shoes for new heels on a Thursday and was told that everything would be ready by Tuesday. Well the dress was ready but the shoes weren't even worked on. It took her 10 mins to locate the shoes which had me scared (expensive shoes) and then to find out they weren't done, I was upset. I have been to Rose Tailor three times now, twice for raising hems on dresses. I am vertically challenged. lol. They are friendly and do very good work. This Friday was the icing on the cake!!!. I took in a pair of my sons shorts , the pockets needed stitching all the way around, not anything I could do by hand. She was able to get them done in 4 hours and very reasonably priced. Rose Tailor absolutely deserves to have a positive review here on Yelp. In my search for a local tailor to alter my milestone birthday party dress, Rose Tailor was actually my last resort. I'd taken my jeans here to shorten the hems, but what I needed for my dress required a little more work. It is pleated and very detailed and I spent a lot of my money on it... not to mention it was the piece I'd plan for two months to wear to my 30th birthday celebration (yikes, did I just publicly announce my age??). Being the procrastinator that I am, time was getting crunched and I didn't have the resources to drive out to Arlington to go to a highly recommended tailor. Gulping for air and repeating in detail what I wanted done to my dress, I relunctantly left my dress with Rose Tailor. 4 days later, I got my dress back, tried it on, and it was PERFECT. It looked brand new, like I'd just bought it from the store! Anyone would have thought I bought it in that size and would not have known that it was a size 4 brought down to a 0 (ZERO). Fabulous. The couple that owns the shop are sweet and I have used this shop on and off for the last couple years as a result. Unfortunately everytime I bring in anything more complex than a hem, it's never done well and the quality is bad. Last year, I brought in an expensive tweed jacket to have the zipper replaced. After wearing it once the zipper tore. I had to bring it back she admitted the zipper she used was of bad quality. Most recently I dropped off an expensive pair of pants to be tapered in. The leg portion of the pants is now uneven and cannot be worn. They did not charge me for the bad workmanship, however I will be looking elsewhere for my tailoring services. Only use them for simple repairs on not so expensive clothes. The finish on most of the clothes was not clean either. String hanging off...loose stitching in some areas..etc. They are just the only tailor I know of around this area. read more

I have been going to Rose Tailor for over 6+ years now, and I couldn't be happier with their services. The alterations AND shoe repairs are perfectly done. I've had no problems or issues with their workmanship. Some years ago I made the mistake of going elsewhere, because this particular spot was closer to my home, and I paid the price for that mistake. They charged me more than what Rose Tailor would have charged me and the workmanship was okay, not as good as Rose's. The lady there wasn't as friendly as the ajjumma at Rose. Overall, Rose Tailor is my go to spot for ALL alterations and shoe repairs. Don't be concerned with the appearance of the store. I have only had great experiences. I have been using Rose Tailor for 2+ years. The majority of my alterations are hemming jeans, every now and then a tweed bottom and once a bridesmaid dress. The regular hem is $8. She can reuse your original Jean hem for more, I think $10. (not 100% sure on that). I do have to give her major credit for the bridal dress, I was quoted $120 at a shop in Plano and she charged me $25. And the dress was perfect. Will continue to use. read more

I came across Rose Tailor since it is near my work for easy drop off and pick up so I decided to try it out. Don't be put off by the clutter and what seems like a disorganized store. I brought in a dress for a simple hem and taken in on the sides, and two pairs of very worn out boots for repair. She as able to finish the work in one week and my boots looked brand new. I was pretty impressed! Total they charged me $60 which I think is pretty reasonable given the condition of the boots were in. It did take a while for her husband to find a pair of my boots, but she knew exactly where they were at and brought them out :). I dropped off a pair shoes and when I picked them up they were very scratched up. I brought it to their attention and they completely deny that they did it or even that there was a possibility that they could've done it. I know for sure that the shoes were not scratched up when I brought them in as I have only worn them one time. They did not even offer any assistance or apology.
