Doctors do not respond to messages for up to two weeks. The contract requires payment of all services, even if not used and trying to get a refund for services not used got me weeks of frustrating phone calls and answers like "If you buy a gym membership and you don't use it, you still have to pay for it." Talk about discrimination these days, I called Rose for an appointment and of course they asked for my insurance provider. I said Medicare, and was told they don't accept Medicare. UPDATE: I've found Dr. Hirani to have a better bedside manner than Dr. Leon. She really takes time to explain the complex bodily systems (hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis), feedback loops, the difference between "good estrogen" and "bad estrogen" (I didn't even know that was a thing...), and takes a holistic, natural approach to healing (turmeric and bone broth for inflammation etc). When the DUTCH test revealed I have "adrenal fatigue" and that my hormones are that of a 60 year old (I'm 32), she laid out a year long plan to get my body healthy again. I feel better than I have in years. I do agree with what others have said that it is very hard to get a hold of the staff - even portal messages go unanswered. Given that Rose Wellness has just switched to a membership program ($2000-4000 a year), with one of the listed "benefits" as unlimited portal messages, it is disappointing and frustrating to not get a reply. Example: Dr Hirani messaged me on 6/16, I replied on 6/17 and I sent supplemental messages on 6/21, 6/26, 7/1, 7/3. I called the office on 7/1 and Margarita assured me Dr H would reply soon and the delay was an error. I left voicemail on 7/5, still no reply by 7/8 AM. By 7/8 afternoon, Dr H responded, but the message was brief and didn't fully address all the topics from my 5 messages. read more

I made an appointment & the office canceled it without telling me . So I spoke to the office manager who said oh there's. a new staff I'll let her know. That was the solution. So due to the mismanagement I decided not to make a new appointment. Then I check my banking account& find out they charged me for the appointment they canceled. I haven't even met a doctor yet. Brought my daughter in based on all the positive reviews. She has been dealing with chronic issues for years and I was really hoping to find some relief for her. After the initial consult, a fecal test was ordered. I was warned it may not be covered by insurance and i might end up paying approximately $400 after an initial payment of $189. Albeit pricey, I went ahead. Turns out the diagnostic center that was recommended for the test has hit me with a bill of $1,885! My insurance has called them repeatedly, going on six months now, asking for information regarding why the test was ordered and nothing is forthcoming from either Genova or Rose Wellness. Genova has even resorted to calling and harassing my daughter for payment even though my insurance has said not pay them yet since the test might be covered by my benefits. Please stay away from this place. It's just not worth all the time and trouble. read more

I have seen Dr Afrooz for almost two years. Dr Afrooz is a lifesave!!! After over twenty years of struggling with Lyme and Coinfections, I am getting treatment. I was seen by numerous doctors at University Hospitals and she is the one I needed. I now have hope after a stroke at age 36 from Lyme. Another member added to office staff this week in the reception area. I spoke to him about a concern, it was taken care of the same day. That is so awesome!!! This is more expensive than I've paid the last several years and as someone who doesn't live in Fairfax Co. the added "services" do me no good. I have been seeing Dr. Hirani for 2 years. Pros: She test for a lot of things that other doctors overlook. She's appears to be very knowledgable. Many of the nontraditional interventions work well. Cons: She does not take insurance making ongoing treatment financially challenging. It is difficult to discern if some interventions are working. It is difficult to work with traditional doctors and adhere to naturopathic interventions. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Hurani for a few months now for an issue I had previously seen a dermatologist for. The dermatologist gave me a prescription (steroid) for a scalp issue, which did not produce results. I have always questioned - WHY is this occurring? Most doctors just treat the symptoms, not the cause and this case was no different. Dr. Hurani not only found the core issues using interview questions, and medical tests, but she is treating the core issue rather than the symptoms. One does not just suddenly have an issue, there is always a reason behind it such as a high inflammatory diet, food sensitivities, hormone imbalances, etc. My scalp issue had nothing to do with what was going on the surface of it, it was related to my gut health and my hormones. The symptoms are clearing up without any prescriptions in this case, but if you need a prescription, she can also prescribe. One thing that is great is coming away from every appointment with her with a greater understanding of how my body systems work together and why this seemingly unrelated thing can affect so many other issues. It is such a relief to know that I can control these seemingly random things and do it without drugs. She had a very specific plan for me, which really made me feel better. I've been having symptoms of Lyme Disease for several years and never thought anything of it. It wasn't until my symptoms become severe in October 2015 that I began doing my research around the possibility of Lyme. I live in Richmond, VA and finding doctors in the area was not easy. I finally came across the ILADS website, which referred me to 3 doctors in the area who diagnose and treat via the ILADS guidelines. Dr. Afrooz was one of the 3 doctors and after doing research and speaking with the office, I didn't hesitate to schedule an appointment with her. My visit was earlier today, and I have to say I have not felt this encouraged and hopeful in a long time. Dr. Afrooz spent 2 hours with me listening to my symptoms and concerns and took extensive notes on my history and current routines. Not once did I feel rushed. I got my blood work done, which is being sent off to IGENEX and won't get results back for a couple of weeks. However, after evaluating my condition, she confidently put me on a daily plan in order to get me back to being healthy in the meantime. I would highly recommend Dr. Afrooz to anyone and am beyond thankful that I found her and her staff when I did. read more

The office staff never picks up the phone, you can call, email, and send messages until you are blue in the face. I have waited weeks. They have NO IDEA what they are doing. Dr Afrooz, is too busy from being promoted too much by one person on social media groups. She never seems prepared and has asked me many times what medicine I take, and as a dr prescribing multiple antibiotics at one time, she should know this. Also kept trying to give me things i was allergic to. I also had two big issues that I had to bring to her attention from other drs because of the neglect, and of the office staff not getting her messages. She is a very nice person, I think she cares about people, but I would not recommend her as a dr. She is too quick to put everyone on IV as many patients have contacted me with similar issues and have since left or are leaving the practice. Her method of treating is, try everything and see what works. If you are a complex case, I would advise going somewhere else. I have talked to many of her patients who have gotten so sick with her and now are seeing other drs doing much better. I got much worse with her over a year into treatment. I am with a new dr and moving mountains. She has only been doing this 4 years and by no means an expert. She is also not board certified. read more
