The Club practices on Tuesday & Thursday evenings. It's a family-friendly club that teaches quality judo fundamentals to all students: discipline, honor, & respect inside & outside of the club. The gym hosts basketball, dodgeball, volleyball clinics on weekday evenings & weekends. H's classmate plays in the volleyball clinic on Saturday mornings. We're usually at the farmer's market before or after his matches & would stop by to cheer him on. The facility is fairly clean & well-maintained, except the restrooms may be messy & understocked on Saturdays due to the busyness of the park & center. Place fits over a 1000 people at this outdoor event venue. Bring your pop up tent and your fold up chairs to feel comfortable. With that said, my #1 gripe about this park, only two unisex toilets available! Who would put a 2 person bathroom with a cipher code that can accidentally lock. These two bathrooms is stationed like a miniature hut stationed by the entertainment area. Who ever engineered these bathrooms should be reprimanded. It was a dumb idea for cipher codes to be implemented. One bathroom was accidently locked with no one in there! Terrible idea. Over a 1000 people and only as two restrooms nearby! If you had to use the use restrooms.. you have to walk in the other side of the park where the picnic area is located. It is quite a walk! Walked or wait 30 minutes. Overall, its comfortable park minus the restroom situation.

Their memberships allow for the member to have a monthly guest pass which is clutch, their rentals and gear are solid. The staff is friendly and laidback, and so is the atmosphere and crowd itself. I've been to a couple of Hangar 18 locations (Hawthorne, Long Beach) and so far they are all decent, and held optimal locations with decent parking. I'll continue returning here to climb, and checking out the other remaining locations I haven't yet, as well. :)

The city of Torrance has done a great job with this park. The aspect of the park that stands out to me is the playground. I have a two-year-old and she absolutely loves the structure. The climbing parts can be extremely steep for a young one, but as long as you vigilantly monitor your child's every move, he/she will be fine. There are three "big-time" slides for the kids, which is always a plus. The swings are in good working order and the seats are not torn or tattered. There are a few large fields for the athletic enthusiasts as well as a full court basketball court (non-lit). The grass in and around the park can use some trimming. There are some dirt paths for people who enjoy walking. There are several park benches near the playground but no BBQ pits. I haven't used the restrooms yet, but I can't imagine a park bathroom being immaculately clean.

This is a great place for a multitude of sports. They have some basketball courts and volleyball courts in numerous weightlifting stations throughout. As a volleyball player, the open gym here is good but at times its not worth it, for a while the courts are usually dusty and the court grip is alright, any pair of shoes will withstand it. However, since its drop in play, sometimes there isn't much competition, on some occasions it would be packed to the brim with other volleyball players from surrounding schools like carson, jordan, san pedro, cabrillo, cams, etc. But on most occasions its usually empty with not many people. If you plan on going here with friends, have them tell other friends or set something up with people to go here and play volleyball.
