The photos of this location don't do it justice! This park is newly renovated with a mass amount of space to play. With two jungle gym areas, a skate park, baseball field, basketball court, this is the place to play and bring your kids. Over the course of three hours there were food vendors and ice cream trucks that passed through. The park was peaceful with no problems and constant park security. I'll definitely return when I want a peaceful park play date. Only con: massive amounts of June bugs flying around, it freaked the kids out and hard to enjoy food in peace so wear bug spray. read more

Edward Vincent Jr. Park in Inglewood surprised me in the best way because the moment I walked in, the whole place felt bright, open, and full of life. I did not expect the park to have so many different areas that felt playful and relaxing at the same time, but as I explored more of it, I kept noticing how easy it was to enjoy myself without feeling rushed. The big grassy fields, the long walking paths, and the sunny open spaces all created this warm atmosphere that made the park feel welcoming from the very beginning. What really stood out to me was how many teenagers I saw there. Some were playing basketball, some were hanging out in groups, and others were taking pictures together around the park. Seeing that made the whole place feel even more lively, and it showed me right away that this is the kind of spot teenagers would genuinely love spending time in. As I kept walking around, I realized there was much more to enjoy than I expected. The playground areas looked colorful and fun, the sports courts were full of energy, and the shaded spots under the trees made it easy to take a break and just enjoy the moment. Even though it was my first time visiting Edward Vincent Jr. Park, I never doubted that the experience was going to turn out the way I hoped it would. There was something refreshing about being in a space where people of all ages were having a good time, but especially seeing so many teenagers laughing, talking, and taking photos together. It reminded me how important it is for teenagers to have places where they can feel creative, comfortable, and free to express themselves. I have lived for 24 years, but I am not physically or mentally 24 years old. In the summertime of 2024, I learned that I am still physically and mentally 18 years old, and I also learned that my prefrontal cortex is far more developed than the average 25 year old. That youthful mindset makes me appreciate places like this even more, because I can feel the same kind of excitement and creativity that teenagers feel when they are in a space that welcomes them. Edward Vincent Jr. Park is one of the most enjoyable and refreshing outdoor places I have been to in a long time, and I would highly recommend that teenagers go there. It gives them a place to hang out, take pictures, play, talk, and enjoy being themselves in a lively and open environment that feels made for them. read more

Finally got to try the new pump track here. I got here very early in the morning to beat the crowd but there was still a handful of people. Seemed like everyone was being mindful of each other, including the little ones. This pump track was a work out! I took a couple spills but luckily no collisions. One of my favorite parks for the sheer size. In La these parks are a blessing as there are no many full scale parks in this city. About a 20-25 minute walk round trip with slight hills as you approach the soccer field. Diverse park with all walks of life and you'll get to see an occasional mole rat (ground hog) I forget but makes my day seeing them pop out of the ground. Tennis courts, basketball courts (needs a fence) I don't know why they still don't have a fence after all these years... playing basketball with no rebounder is a hassle not needed. The new baseball field at Edward Vincent Park is great. I cannot believe there are no more gopher holes in the outfield. The kids can play in safety, you just have to watch out for the coyotes. Shout out to Clayton Kershaw and his family for dedicating this for you to the community of Inglewood Champions field is a beautiful field as well and I'm so proud that my son is able to play on this great field. This is a iconic park that has been in Inglewood before it was a Inglewood the spring that flows through it was here before they discovered California. We came to this park for Inglewood's very first City of the Champions 5K walk/run event. On line the event was supposed to be from 7am til noon. We checked in, signed paper work then waited in the car for 1hr. 35mins. They didn't start til around 8:20am. One on the staff led everyone in a 10 min. warm up. There were about 6 vendors & a live DJ pumping the music out. The course was pretty much flat with a few hills, plus along the course were three water stations. All of the staff was super friendly and helpful. After finishing the course you were treated with fruit, water and a very full goodie bag. The highlight of this event was that the mayor of Inglewood Ca, James T. Butts Jr. ran and walk with us along the course. We had a great experience here, I can't wait to do it again. read more

The pool facility in particular, a seasonal pool is equipped with two pools: kitty pool (2ft-3ft) and a big pool (2ft-9ft) roughly a 32 yrd pool and ADA compliant. Since it is open only during the Summer, their opening day is usually the second Wednesday of June and ALWAYS closes on Labor Day. I love coming to this park. I have been coming as a kid. At first I used to go to play as a kid obviously and there are different sections of the park to do different activities. For example they have tennis courts where I would play, and all through out the park there are areas to play soccer or football or such sport, they have a playground, a soccer field, a baseball field, and a basketball court. My family likes to also get together at this park for Easter. We usually come early to reserve our table and set up. There is plenty of parking all around however, for such events parking is frustrating. Now as an adult I enjoy to workout here. The whole park is approx.. 1 mile round. The park is always kept well and clean so when I run around I really enjoy the scenic view. I also enjoy running because they have up hills and down hills. They also have stairs where you get more of a workout. read more

Every time I come to visit, I'm amazed by the new upgrades. I love taking morning walks around the trail, listening to the birds chirping, and peacefully admiring the beautiful environment. What a hidden gem. And a cool skate park too? With a 55-seat theatre. AND a huge outdoor amphitheatre. AND a lovely swimming pool. AND great tennis courts...And basketball courts....and and and...and the green lush grass on undulating hills. Not to mention super nice people everywhere. AND very clean. I usually approach Inglewood from the 105, driving on Prairie past the Forum, to Inglewood Memorial Park and Cemetery, where I spend some time with my loved one. Little did I know there was this wonderful sprawling park on the other side of the cemetery off the busy busy of Florence Ave. I came to see a play that at the William Agee Playhouse, and what a lovely surprise on a sunny blustery Saturday morning...to find ample parking...a sweet kids playground with those cushy rubber floors for any unexpected mishaps off the jungle gym. The playhouse, which had been closed for five years, is back and that's exciting!! It's located just behind the kids playhouse (below sightlines from the parking lot), so just trust it's there...it's just a short pleasant walk from the parking, and has a cute gingerbread-y feel...inside, a cozy blackbox. The outdoor theatre behind up a slight incline and beyond that, picnic benches. I can imagine musical concerts here really are wonderful...Inglewood deserves such a gorgeous park...and the rest of L.A. must come and check out the lively theatre here, especially because the city (I'm told) is interested in developing new work here. Now that's a rarity! Big thumbs up! See a play and come early to enjoy the park. And thanks to the rolling hills, which keeps sightlines inside the park, and not on the flanking busy noisy city streets, in no time flat there's a welcomed feeling of "get away from it all" while still being in a big city. I love this park!! It's one of the last hidden gems in Los Angeles County. It's a great place to enjoy a walk, jog, or bring the kids to play. All in all, it's very clean and safe. There aren't any homeless encampments around. There are plenty of tables and covered areas if you want to have a B-Day party or gathering. There is plenty of space for social distancing. This park would always have five stars in my opinion. It's my childhood "go to". One thing I have always admired since I was child is how clean it is. It's always been green and pretty. I'm not sure if the pools still open up or not but they were always clean, fun and we'll supervised. There's always plenty of parking, including street parking if you can find it. Always plenty for the kiddos to do. They supply different things to satisfy everyone's needs. From picnic tables to basketball ball courts, soccer fields, slides and swings and let's not forget about the marry go rounds. Plenty of spots to kick back alone or with your family. Want junk food? No worries because different types of ice cream trucks are constantly making their rounds. It's an awesome park especially seeing it's location. read more

I just want to let you all know this is the sketchiest park I have ever been to. Okay - I'm gonna be honest - I went there because I heard it was sketchy. I'm an artist, so I have to experience life to create life. I went there around 10:30PM. I was terrified, but my friend wanted to see if this was a real "cruising" spot ... girl ... the girls were OUT. There were men EVERYWHERE seeking sex. I was really shook. Within minutes my friend was sucking this man's dick! Mind you the man had a ski mask on!! I was terrified, but after seeing this exchange and realizing how hard it is to be a gay, Black man in America, I calmed down. These men just wanted to be loved and love, but maybe they didn't feel like they could love who they love in public. This park is really big. It has tennis courts, a skate board ramp, basketball court, 3 pools, lots of jungle gyms, a bbq area and lots more. There's paths all over the park so you don't have to walk thru the grass. There's lots of different beautiful trees. It's really pretty in the autumn because you get to crunch thru the leaves :) It has been heavily guarded by the park ranger so it's pretty much always clean. It's a lot safer her now than it was 10 years ago. I have however seen some homeless people living behind the tennis court and by the softball area. So just stay aware of your surroundings and all should be fine :) read more

As a native Angeleno, this is another one of those places in the county I should have visited YEARS ago... it's right near my church and is huge! It's the park that keeps on giving! I found myself in a funky mood yesterday after work. I was reminded that morning about a meeting at church and knew that if I went home between the office and the meeting, I would end up missing my meeting. So even though I wanted to crawl in my bed, some inconsistent rain drops were falling, and I didn't have a complete workout outfit in my car, I put on my tennis shoes and hat, parked in the lot adjacent to Champions Field, and got to steppin'. I have no idea the distance covered when touring the circumference of this park, but it's a decent! There are a couple of inclines that add interest to your walk or run. I started by visiting the closest restroom available which started my building favorable impression of the grounds. I don't visit many parks, and even fewer park restrooms, but I was enthralled with this one because: - it was constructed, in part, with bricks (one of my favorite building materials - it reminds me of my childhood summers in Savannah, Georgia). - although it smelled like most park bathrooms (unlike bleach or Fabuloso®), every stall contained toilet seat covers and toilet tissue. - there were locks on every stall door. - it had an individual hand dryer that was powerfully functioning. Already wordy review short, the more I walked this park, the more pockets of funness I discovered! This massive park showcased multiple amenities that made me want to take pictures with the finds between each little rolling hill... - multiple playgrounds that include cork-like foundations so kids don't hurt themselves as much when they fall - a plethora of fields for baseball, basketball, lacrosse, tennis, etc., as well as a beach-inspired volleyball court - a spacious skateboard park - fitness stations similar to those at gyms - numerous grassy areas for eating al fresco along with table options for dining and gathering - a vast assortment of luscious trees - new and established - that make for perfect picture taking - numerous bathrooms (I didn't visit any besides the afore-mentioned one) - random art pieces like "vases" (without flowers) and built in benches with mosaic details - a playhouse, as in a venue that runs theatrical shows - an area with two swimming pools - a mini rock climbing wall - an amphitheater with seating made of bricks and a stage onto which you could choreograph some cool dance moves (or is that just how I would use it?) The downsides to this park - as there are some to most... - though a large portion of this park borders Florence (which will, soon, have a metro line in between the two), it's not an inviting part of the park. I took a back way to get to one of the few parking lots that align the park. You may have an easier time trying to access one from Centinela. - as I was using the restroom, some young boys entered it to smoke some weed. I loudly exclaimed, "Ummm - are there boys in the women's restroom?" One answered, "Sorry. We are leaving." Though they ended up going next door to the men's restroom to hotbox, they did apologize to me for invading the wrong bathroom before I told them I smelled what they were doing and they apologized again. - there is plenty of graffiti on the beautiful brick structures and the art fixtures. Nice park. The running trail/loop is about a mile depending which route you take. There's everything you need there so super convenient! Free parking, and multiple lots... it's a good size. There's neighborhood street parking too. Swimming pool, 2 x full basketball courts, I think 4 x tennis courts, football field, and plenty of equipment for kids to enjoy. There's a mini amphitheater-like area with a stage that I thought it pretty neat. I'm sure they do fun family-friendly shows on the stage but i don't know of any at the moment. read more

Park is huge! There used to be a river of some sort that ran right down the middle, supposedly a water reservoir is still under the tennis courts. LOTS of history here, you kind of get an idea of how special this park is, by going behind the pool area and reading the historical statue/plaque that was put up here. Probably the heart of Centinela Valley when settlers first started moving in. LOOK IT UP! I have been coming to this park for decades. Growing up, this was the go to spot for families in and around 90301/90302 area codes. There was a really awesome Dennis the Menace playground w 4 slides, a bunch of stairs, climbing crap, a pirate lookout tower. It was fn awesome! All metal equipment so when you ate shit, you ate shit! Swings, a robot double slide to the right of Dennis the menace were also main stays here for years. Unfortunately, everyone turned to sissy's, so they removed this glorious playground and replace it with one of those crappy ass plastic playgrounds that electroshock you whenever you attempt to play in them... Park still has a great pool, and toddler pool area, although I'm not sure if the toddler pool is still open. Park is so huge it has like 3 or 4 other playgrounds in different locations of the park. Roads galore w lots of hills so it's a great place to come jog, ride your bike, roller blade, run, etc. Used to have 3 baseball fields, now there's only 2, soccer field replaced the original field at the top of the park. A big picnic area, tennis and basketball courts and lots of grass for kids to run around in. Great place for a quick football game w the FAM. Oh and there's a really cool amphitheater that use to host tons of programs like concerts and 4th of July festivals, but now looks super creepy and abandoned because of the cheap ass city and the morons who ran it into the ground. It's a shame that the city doesn't put more money into its park and rec programs because it would be an awesome awesome park (take a look at El Segundo's park and recs program) its embarrassing... They have really good dance programs for the kiddos.. My daughter had been in fantasia dance off and on and by far she's the cheapest in Los Angeles.. And i love the way they dance around the community..she also does allot to build the girls self esteem.. Great! read more

Has the potential to be more than what it is...the park overall is huge and beautiful, but the lack of upkeep and little regulations keeps it from being a hidden gym of sorts. A few things include: 1. Damaged playground equipment that hasnt been repaired in over a year. 2. Neglected wading pool 3. Unregulated birthday parties (trash everywhere after one) 4. Golfer holes everywhere 5. Dirt patches where grass should be (due to soccer or lack of care) 6. Little to no security presence 7. Small homeless encampment (though this may have been cleared out) 8. Being an Inglewood resident my whole life and being familiar with every park and recreation center in the city this park is the premier and cream of the crop when it comes to the city of champs. This park is well kept and clean and the landscape is well taken care of. Everything you can think of is available at this park. Pools? of course! Skate park? surely! Tennis courts? no doubt! Basketball courts? Was that even in doubt. They have newly renovated turf football and soccer fields. They have a stage with seating for plays or other events. And of course they have the baseball fields and the play house along to go with the jungle gym and other common park amenities. There's plenty of parking and gives a safe environment for the whole family. They have a patio with BBQ pits and benchs and tables for gatherings.
