    Event l went to...such a let down.
    Na H.

Came here for a wine and spirits event. It was one of the worst spirits events l have ever been to. I will speak on the venue and not the event as they are two separate entities. We arrived at Rosecroft and there was ample parking outside the venue. We entered and proceeded to go up the elevator where the event was being held. Upon entering the venue, it was obvious that it was in need of a full blown makeover. The design was stuck in an early 80's time warp, equipped with old, red, flowery carpet and lighting. The area off of the lobby was where you could place bets. It was antiquated with an old wooden bar area and seating. There were folks betting on simulcast races and there was an occasional cheer to be heard. As we went up the escalator, it didn't get any better. The red worn carpeting continued and we made our way into the area with large picture windows that looked out onto the raceway. There was plenty of seating along with brass railing with awesome views of the race course. I imaged this place in its heyday, and thought it must have been the place to be and be seen that long ago. Now, l didn't want to be seen here. So on that note, l quickly excited. Don't get me wrong, with the proper investments, Rosecroft could possible return to its former glory, but for now, I'll pass.

    Boxing ring

Rosecroft is attempting to showcase more boxing matches at this venue and from the matches they provided on this Friday night, I will make it a point to return. The boxing ring is upstairs away from the off track betting machines and the only drawback that I can see from boxing here is the price. $40 for a general admission ticket and $60 for ringside (which you should never pay because its not assigned seating). The fights had 7 bouts this day and they were wildly entertaining these were not amateur folks but mostly young fighters starting their professional careers. The first matches I saw were four rounders and the losers did not make in any where close to finishing, straight knockouts like the old "arcade" game Ring King where the dude got lifted off his feet knockout. Very good spot for boxing, plenty of free parking, no riff-raffs around, and plenty of good seats. Besides the price the only drawback is that they started 40 minutes late...do we always have to be on CP time, if you don't know what that means ask you first brother or sister you know they will fill you in. No look behind the curtain from this man! See you at the fights!!

This place is pretty cool whether you're a gambler or not. I'm here watching some boxing matches now, good times... Worth a visit

The no so bad reality of Rosecroft. Kind of a neighborhood bar feel with gambling!

Used to come here in the late 90's and early 00's. Not the best neighborhood but has the facilities to bet on thoroughbred racing.

I've never seen the harness racing here, but there's plenty of TVs to watch and machines to bet on.

This race has embedded many great memories in my mind and heart and is so much fun in all regards. You don't need to dress up but it is fun to get a little snazzy and mingle with some of the elites from NoVa, Potomac, Bethesda and Poolesville. I can't say enough about this event or the people you encounter during this race. It's in a class all of its own. It's fun and exciting. I highly recommend you go to it next year if you have never been. *Btw - Take a blanket, some snacks and some wine to maximize your experience. Maybe I'll see you there :D

I loved the scenic drive in (if you're coming from DC, it's via the George Washington Memorial Parkway). I was concerned that it might be a little muddy with the incessant rain over the past week, but the plush grass absorbed most of it by the time we got there. The program said that the races start at 12 pm, but the races actually started at 1 pm. In addition to the outer course where the race actually occurs, there is a small inner course where you can admire the horses shortly before they race. Finally, don't miss the miniature horses at the end (Hello, Lil' Sebastian)! Few (mandatory) tips: - Bring a picnic basket and drinks! The only food vendors at the races were BBQ, Ben & Jerry's, and a lemonade stand. - Bring lawn chairs to lounge around in. - Bring a jacket (or a tent)! The open field means that nothing will block the wind if it's a windy day, and there aren't any covered areas nearby. We showed up with none of these things because the website seemed to only "recommend" tailgating, and we assumed that we could purchase from a variety of food and drinks vendors. But this five-star review is dedicated to David, who was the owner of the first tent we approached (confusedly thinking that he was selling drinks). David graciously welcomed us to join his party and treated us like old friends. We spent a fantastic afternoon there, watching the races, mingling with wonderful company, and partaking in their great food and drinks!

We were in line to cash chips for close to a half hour. The line was incredibly long and no one seemed to care. How about having a line for chips only? REVIEW for THE HALL at LIVE ONLY!…read more Came for a date night concert. The Hall at Live is a decent size venue for concerts. We had floor seating and there really isn't a bad seat in the venue. The entrance is located in the casino. Upon entering the venue, they have a bar in the lobby area and one in the concert hall. If you have drinks from the casino in metal or glass containers you have to transfer them to plastic cups. The seating in the venue was not the most comfortable, but good enough for a less than 2 hour concert and they are connected and you can't separate them. During our concert, the sound was good for the first two acts but the main act was experiencing some technical issues in the beginning but the sound did get a little better, but not as good as the previous acts. The parking is the same as for the casino, which is a large attached parking garage with elevators and stairs to the lower level where the concert hall is. They also have valet parking available. All in all a good venue for concerts, but they need to work on the sound and I hope this was a once in a blue moon issue as I would like to attend more concerts here in the future.

I was amazed to see how large the property is and that there was also a horsetrack. Entering the casino, my first thought was, Wow it smells great in here and it felt good from the AC. Whatever they are blowing through the vents, keep doing it. This casino is huge! Way larger than StL and the restaurant options were vast. The food court has 4 varieties along with a central bar and then if you make your way the opposite direction, you hit the Sportsbook, which is a 2 story restaurant and the one we ate for lunch. Arriving at the open, our assigned staff member was super friendly and very attentive. 2 orders of wings, 1 Mild and 1 Garlic Parm, Loaded Fries and a Crispy Chicken Sandwich, no Crab Dip for the order. The food took about 20 min to come out and everything was as it was ordered, hot and fresh. Note: they have good ranch dressing here. After lunch, we stayed around the property playing for about another 3 hours. As I stated the gaming floor is huge! You have to walk around to see what slots are available. I did pretty good on the Frankenstein machine, wink. Bathrooms are also very clean. I would like to see them add those card reprint machines. Otherwise, please oh please take some of this place and bring it to St. Louis.
