This is a review for the Big Bounce America event that was held here (June 2024) No problems with entering the premise. Exiting is where there was no direction and people were kind of going every which way. However, be prepared to wait in long lines at the light onto Brinkley Rd We got passes for the Adult session on a Sunday evening. This worked out best because the Sun was going down during our 3 hour visit. Youll see children leaving from the session before , but they will all have vacated the park by the time adult sessions start. Adults are 16+ Quite a few LARGE bounce houses, shading under tents, with chairs and tables to use. Port a potties. Food trucks on site. Free places to leave your shoes and belongings if desired. Otherwise, you can take your shoes off and leave them in front of the bouncy houses. They sold water for $2 a bottle Bring your own water bottles. Wear socks with grips if you have them. Youll be taking your shoewear off often so I recommend wearing sandals that slip on/off or crocs. Bring a towel to for sweat You will get sweaty lol. All of the staff were wonderful, friendly and fun! We did the last BIG BOUNCE house entry at 830p. It's time for another boxing tournament. Rosecroft RaceWay was a nice facility but it maybe for a renovation. They have tv's everywhere but they are really old! Remind me of the sets at grandmas house that she refuses to get rid of it because she has had it for so long. Many rooms to go eat and food not to expensive. Came here for a wine and spirits event. It was one of the worst spirits events l have ever been to. I will speak on the venue and not the event as they are two separate entities. We arrived at Rosecroft and there was ample parking outside the venue. We entered and proceeded to go up the elevator where the event was being held. Upon entering the venue, it was obvious that it was in need of a full blown makeover. The design was stuck in an early 80's time warp, equipped with old, red, flowery carpet and lighting. The area off of the lobby was where you could place bets. It was antiquated with an old wooden bar area and seating.There were folks betting on simulcast races and there was an occasional cheer to be heard. As we went up the escalator, it didn't get any better. The red worn carpeting continued and we made our way into the area with large picture windows that looked out onto the raceway. There was plenty of seating along with brass railing with awesome views of the race course. I imaged this place in its heyday, and thought it must have been the place to be and be seen that long ago. Now, l didn't want to be seen here. So on that note, l quickly excited. Don't get me wrong, with the proper investments, Rosecroft could possible return to its former glory, but for now, I'll pass. read more

Rosecroft is attempting to showcase more boxing matches at this venue and from the matches they provided on this Friday night, I will make it a point to return. The boxing ring is upstairs away from the off track betting machines and the only drawback that I can see from boxing here is the price. $40 for a general admission ticket and $60 for ringside (which you should never pay because its not assigned seating). The fights had 7 bouts this day and they were wildly entertaining these were not amateur folks but mostly young fighters starting their professional careers. The first matches I saw were four rounders and the losers did not make in any where close to finishing, straight knockouts like the old "arcade" game Ring King where the dude got lifted off his feet knockout. Very good spot for boxing, plenty of free parking, no riff-raffs around, and plenty of good seats. Besides the price the only drawback is that they started 40 minutes late...do we always have to be on CP time, if you don't know what that means ask you first brother or sister you know they will fill you in. No look behind the curtain from this man! See you at the fights!! read more

What a fun place! Most Washingtonians either have no idea that this harness racing track exists, or have totally forgotten about it. A visit to Rosecoft is a step back in time: a run down vestige of Maryland's once-behemoth horse racing industry. But what a hoot this place is! The facility itself is quite frayed, with the charm of an early 80s K-Mart. Good luck finding a TV here that was made in this millennium, but here's the good news: the beer is cheap, the bets start at $1, and the staff here is amazing. Most of the people working here have been at Rosecroft literally forever. I chatted it up with a sweetheart named Gale, whose been working here for 38 years and was thrilled to see some new young faces, and happily walked us through the betting process. We didn't win any money, but we really had a great time. There's live racing here two nights a week for a few months every year, and there's off-track betting ever day. There's a restaurant upstairs, but I can't comment on the quality. Oh, and the people watching here is amazing. Come visit and you'll figure out why :). read more

I'm actually surprised to be rating it 3 stars. I'm not much of a gambler and wasn't expecting much of a recent outing here with friends. The atmosphere is a little on the rundown and old (reminded me of a k-mart cafeteria). The horses are handicapped (which means the riders sit behind on mini-chariots). You know what though? I had a fun time! I'd probably come back, but only if someone else were organizing it. While I initially thought I wouldn't bet, putting small bets ($2 min) made it a whole lot more interesting. For $20-$40 in bets and a handful of cheap beers, this place can be fun times - especially w/ a handful of friends. (what isn't fun with a handful of friends?) ;^) read more

Attended a Boxing card here this past Saturday night. For the life of me I can't understand why places like this are stuck in an early 80's time warp! I would lump Rosecroft, Laurel, and Pimlico racetracks in the same category. In dire, I mean DIRE need of some major upgrades and overhauls. Hell, I would probably bulldoze this dinosaur and start all over! The parking lot is in horrid condition for starters. I arrived around 7pm and the area hardly has any lighting at all. I almost bottomed out my car 2 different times while looking for an acceptable spot to park. I hope management reads this review and decides to repave the whole parking lot. When you have pot holes the size of mini swimming pools, simply put, it sucks for paying customers who patronize your establishment! I got up yesterday morning to check the air pressure in my tires and make sure I didn't have any slow leaks. Walking into this place gives you the sense that you are on the set of the movie Grifters. Good flick by the way, with John Cusack. As I made my way around the so-called concession area, I saw the usual degenerates that you would expect to see at any gambling establishment. All of them talking about shoulda, woulda, coulda bets. I guess it adds a certain kind of ambience. Once I figured out where to order, I asked a certain lazy concession worker " Do you sell pizza or hot dogs?" She looked up from what she was doing, which was absolutely nothing and replied that they sold both and looked away. Well how I am suppose to know when I don't see anything for sale? I told her I will take a slice of pizza and she said it would be 20 minutes at least. I told her nevermind fights start in 5 minutes and I am not missing them. I purchased a Ringside seat for $65 .And while it was nice to be very close to the ring, me and everyone else had to content with the fighters' family and friends and whoever else standing in front of our view! I totally respect supporting your fighter, especially if he is related to you, but that does not give you the right to stand up front and ruin it for everyone who paid for a ringside seat!!!! Security was suppose to get them to seat down in a seat and the Ring Announcer even got on the mic and repeated it 2 or 3 times. But they totally ignored them and still preceded to do what they want! 100% blame goes to the Security at this place, which is so lax it's comical. One of the so-called "Enforcement" guys was completely ignoring what was going on and was watching the fights! Kinda scary to think if a brawl broke out how effective would security be in breaking it up! With all of that said, I still enjoyed the fights. Most people seemed to be having fun regardless of the situation. I will remember if I ever come here again to eat before I come and not expect too much from security! Love the 1970s/Oscar Madison vibe. It's a little seedy, to be sure. But, as an Alexandrian, I can't believe there's horse racing (even if it is harness racing) less than 15 minutes from Old Town. It's easy to place bets -- small or large. Nice view of the track, odd collection of customers. OTB is also available. Only downer is there's not much more than vending machine food, and the signs warn you against bringing in outside food. Hint to management: Do a little advertising. No one in the DC area knows you're here! read more

Is it Churchill Downs? Not quite. But you can bet on Churchill Downs and everywhere else at Rosecroft. If you are in DC and want to slip out for a couple of hours and enjoy the seediness and greatness of a track, you can't go wrong at Rosecroft. I've never seen the harness racing here, but there's plenty of TVs to watch and machines to bet on. This place saw better days many years ago, but there's still a charm and friendliness to the place. The gamblers are pretty entertaining. The folks manning the betting booths are pretty patient. And, the bartender, Rosie, is worth the price of admission, which is free, but she's still great. read more

Used to come here in the late 90's and early 00's. Not the best neighborhood but has the facilities to bet on thoroughbred racing.
