I called and they told me a price that was over $1k more than what the car would be worth in GOOD CONDITION yet the car still needs major parts to be installed just to even get it running which is crazy because it's been sitting on the lot for almost a year! Most of the cars on this lot have been sitting for years, uncovered through multiple Chicago winters so I would be surprised if they run at all. Buyer beware as there's a very high chance you'll get a lemon from here especially considering some of the extremely poor welding jobs I saw on the car doors as well as overall rusting on the vehicles when I went by here. The people that own this place either need to have a going away sale and pretty much give everything away or get off their behinds and actually fix these cars in-order to sell them. In the end it doesn't surprise me anymore why this place gets no business. It seems the community learned a long time ago to stay far away from here.

Already I'd gone to a car dealer and another auto shop to try to fix the stripped screw and washer, likely damaged by a machine. It looked impossible. Over and over, I was advised to have two holes drilled into the auto's body to affix the plate on the back. There had to be a better plan. The guys at this small shop came out, made the same suggestion and when I balked came up with a Plan B. Within a few minutes, this team took the ball and scored a major touchdown in my eyes. License plate on. No newly drilled holes. All for twenty bucks. Can't beat the price or their concern with what this customer needed. Truly appreciated. Thank you.

I told him that I did not even know the car had been found until minutes before & said I wanted to come after work, around 5:30, to see my car. The guy said they close at five so I asked them if my car waa drive-able or damaged. He said he did not know so I asked if someone could go & look at it. Again he said no because he was the only one there. I asked him why I wasn't notified by anyone & he said all they do is tow cars when state police call them for a tow job. (I am waiting for a call back from an Illinois State police commander.) I asked, "Even when you know it's stolen?" so I went the following day & saw it would have to 8be towed. Fast forward 3 days: Pattersons called me at work to say tow truck had come to pick up my car & take it to my repair shop. When I asked how much the bill was, I was told over $900.!! When I asked for a breakdown of the charges & a copy of the bill to be texted to me, he told me to get the info from Allstate since they were the ones paying for it. I am sorry Allstate paid such an outrageous charge but glad I had full coverage but what about the people who only have collision or liability? How would that have hurt them? MY ADVICE TO YOU: AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!

I paid to get my car home and a misunderstanding became a night mare. With employees like him, I couldn't spend a dime and no recommendation but the fee was reasonable and the operator was pleasant and apologized for his mistake.

I didn't realize when they checked the antifreeze reservoir they took off the hose needed to suck up antifreeze and didn't put it back. I felt they were intentionally trying to break my car down. 2. Took my car to replace brake pad and rotors. I took my own parts. When I got my parts back I noticed they didn't put the sensors which is standard. They acted dumb about it and fixed it. 3. Took my car for an oil change. They noticed the screw in the oil pan wasn't original. I told them don't worry I've had oil changes for 5 years and never had any problems. After the oil change my car is leaking more oil than usual. 4. My car had warranty for the repairs. However they charge differently when warranty is used. They said it would be cheaper for me to pay out of pocket instead of using the warranty. The other shop I went to charged me the same price with or without warranty. Shady af. My fault for going back just bc it's conveniently located down the block. But after all this bullshit I will never go back. Short dude at the front desk is rude af as well. Go elsewhere, this place is shady af.

I do not know much about cars, he could have made up "issues" to fix and gain a customer, but instead he was honest and told me I could keep using the car. It's a local business so I gave them a chance to fix the problem. The owner said he was able to fix it and said he had called the dealer and was able to replace the part. After 3 hrs I received a call saying the problem was fixed I can pick up the car and the total charge was $230 (make sure you get an estimate before any work I didn't) I walked to the shop paid the man and drove off. First problem noticed was that the turn signal was not resetting I had to do it manually. Of course I was not happy after paying $230 I called the owner who said to bring the car back and he'll fix the problem.....mmmm. This is why I paid in the first place....I took the car back and after several hrs the problem was finally fixed. Overall, I'll give the place 3 stars mostly for the friendly approach and the willingness to repair the car a second time. Make sure to get a receipt.

I am a Lyft driver and these people took away my main source of income for weeks and didn't even bother a test drive. Not to mention made the car worse. I took what I could get, and the car was gone and out of my hair in the span of hardly a day. These guys are earning every single dollar they make. Thanks to them, I can finally look forward to getting a decent car for college and I'll have them in mind if I ever have car trouble again. PM Towing is an absolute gem.
