I tend to take a lot of books out of our public libraries, but this isn't my favorite location of the three we have in town. The place could use a bit of a renovation...and a bigger selection of books and other media. In fact, unless I know they have a book that I 'need' I don't really go over to this location anymore. It's ok, it's convenient for this part of town, but I tend of go to the main branch-just easier to get to, better parking, and obviously a greater selection.

It looks like a decent selection of items here, but I usually put items on hold online and pick…read morethem up here. The staff is always great--they are quick and helpful. If you like browsing around, there are probably better, more well stocked, newer libraries (like Montclair) but since the libraries are so interconnected, it's really easy to request what you want and come to receive when notified. I do think the parking can be annoying because it's either meter or wait until after 6 when the meters are free. This is unusual in my experience to not have free parking at a library, so it is a knock against it, but overall I like this place so I lean more towards a 4.

Just grab what you need and get out. The staff is always helpful and fast. The non-fiction selection and new releases are limited, so I'm usually just here to pick up an order I placed through the Bergen County Cooperative Library System. People are allowed to reserve the room for up to two hours. The day of my visit, I walked up to the front desk and asked about my reservation. The librarian who helped me was friendly and let me into the room. While there is another study room next to it, I did not hear anything from the occupied room. Good sound canceling. Note: If you are recording, heads up, you can hear cars from Rt 280, but for studying purposes or conference calls, audio environment is good. After I was finished, I looked around the library. I found a water bottle refill wall station on the lower level. I also found that there is an elevator inside the library to get you from floor 1 and LL if you have trouble with stairs. The elevator lobby is further into the library before you are in the Teen and Kids sections (in that hallway, to the right).

Roomy inside with so many bare shelves. Only one staff personnel working upstairs. Downstairs staff workers talking so loud to each other was ridiculous. There was no signage whatsoever throughout the property. NO isles were marked to find sections or selections. Plenty of tables and computers. Rack with a large display of current magazines and newspapers near windows.

We stopped by on a cold winter evening (it was only 5 p.m., but you know how winter evenings feel). The first thing that caught my attention wasn't the books--but dinosaur footprints. Yes, dinosaurs! I later learned that during the construction of the interstate near I-80 in the 1960s, stone slabs containing dinosaur footprints were discovered. These footprints are believed to be around 180 million years old, wow, that's a lot! :) The library itself is a community-focused public library offering a good collection of books along with digital resources such as eBooks and audiobooks. They also provide computers, printing/fax services, and programs for all age groups. It's part of the Main Library Alliance, which means access to a much larger shared collection. The staff were very helpful--they helped my wife in creating her library card and patiently answered all her questions. There is a dedicated kids' section, which is well set up, and the overall dinosaur theme throughout the library makes it unique and engaging, especially for families. Overall, this is a small to medium-sized library with a strong community feel. A great place for readers, families, and anyone who enjoys learning something new

Not just the visitors but the staff was incredibly loud, speaking across the room to one another and other guests. I walked out knowing the business of not just the staff but a few of the visitors as well, and my uncompleted work. It was absolutely chaotic, not the environment of a library whatsoever. As an academic, I have spent many years going to libraries as a means to concentrate on a task. Im not sure i would return to this library again.

Parking lot behind the library with good numbers of spots for the small neighbors. I have been looking for library that accepts used books, and this one does. There are activities for kids and teens and adults, and learning programs for the community. I am looking forward to sign up their book club this Summer. If you are also looking for place to donate your precious books, and don't mind to drive to Northern Jersey, this cute library is a great place. Starbucks may have amazing coffee, but you can't really work there comfortably if you have a call or just need to focus... so grab your drink and head over to the library you won't be disappointed!! This was a wonderful and well needed discovery. I was hustling back from the Newark Airport but couldn't get to my lodging back in time for a 10am scheduled call and just popping into Starbucks was just not feasible to have this call. So, I figured hit a library! Ugh, the challenge was on! I tried to pop into Denville library but of course there was yard work going on and they don't have any private study space and you can't be on a call/talking... and to add to my challenges... was down to 7% battery life on my computer for a 90 minute call... (Murphy's law has nothing on me) but thanks to an amazing Denville librarian workers mentioned Wharton offers this awesome setup so I had to check it out and could not be more surprised and appreciative for this life saving setup! Shout out to Denville for knowing about this and HUGE PROPS to Wharton municipality to putting this setup together! More municipalities need to consider this and follow Wharton's initiative! This is great even with this "Living with Covid and the new normal" it offers people to socially distance, be outside, be productive (by getting online) and also some quiet space, all the while not disrupting or adding more pressure to structural constricts of nothing having more space within the library building. Hats off to whoever thought of this solution! You rock!!! Also the library has ample parking and is a quick walk to other businesses on Main Street... so bring on the walk traffic... lots of close by eateries and shops! Wharton, NJ has top billing in my humble opinion!
