I feel bad for leaving a subpar review because the lady helped us was super sweet and I love that they are a long lasting local business with a lot of history. This review is purely based on my personal preference. I love freshly made, small batch, artisan ice cream that are ALL NATURAL like the good old days, without any weird chemicals. Unfortunately, Roselani is not it. Their ice cream is full of synthetic flavors, stabilizers, texture enhancers, and food colorings in some. I had one taste and I could tell. Some flavors are better than others, but overall it's very industrialized. Won't return. Sad face. read more

We stopped at their storefront in Paia. Wow they've been around since 1932 and the ocean is just quality. We tried a couple of flavors before landing on the Banana Mac Nut one. Friendly staff, but sitting is a bit limited to benches on the side. They do sell pints too if you want it. Rich, creamy, and smooth. Parking in Paia is best in the visitors parking lot and then walking to the store. It's not a long walk. read more

A great ice cream parlor in a very cute town! My family went twice while we were on the island. My kids favorite place we tried over two weeks. The line was long both times we went. It is all rich, sweet, fresh, delicious and portions are generous. They have a wide variety of artisanal flavors to choose from. No kidding it's really good ice cream. Also the people here are really nice too and the shop is spotlessly clean. Perhaps Yelp could add a five star plus category? They could start with Roselani... six or seven stars should cover it. Customer service needs to improve. I came in with my two young daughters, ages 6 and 8, and unfortunately we had to witness an employee at the counter treat a customer very rudely. A gentleman had just purchased a double-scoop ice cream cone when it accidentally broke and fell to the floor as he was walking out the door. He came back inside to explain what happened, and instead of showing understanding or empathy, the employee rudely pointed him toward the trash and told him to wash his hands in the back. Her attitude and facial expressions came across as dismissive and unkind. When he returned, she asked if he wanted to buy another ice cream. He explained that he thought the ice cream might be replaced since it had just fallen, but she told him it was the risk of ordering that type of cone and essentially said it was his problem. She eventually offered only one scoop as a replacement. It was disappointing to witness this kind of interaction, especially in front of children. Accidents happen, and a little kindness and better customer service would go a long way. read more

THE BEST ICE CREAM OF MY ENTIRE LIFE. My friends and I are big ice cream lovers. This place is so good we started talking about how much we would pay to get this to the mainland. We came back three days in a row not including the hula cookies we got (which also have Roselani's ice cream inside). They have a huge variety, but my favorite flavors are the kona mud pie and the banana mac crunch. Two scoops is a very good deal, and if you're thinking about getting the keiki size, just get the full size because you're going to want to eat more ice cream. The service was great! I really like Haupia but unfortunately they were out on the day we visited, which is a pity as it is the only ice cream I like, so I did without.
