They waited behind me until the tow truck had my car loaded on the flat bed truck and we were on our way. After dealing with officer Lewis I'm glad I will probably never see him again. I was shopping at TJ Maxx and came out to his flashing lights. The woman said your car door hit mine. The officer said there was my color paint on her car even though my car had no paint loss. Officer Lewis said we were guilty and he would testify against me in court. As it turns out this woman coincidentally has a family member in a body shop that they have to get the work done there. We paid out of pocket to keep our insurance rates down. $1000 later we settled the claim Smells like a scam to me. But you can bet next time I'm in Bloomingdale if the car next to me has any marks I'm moving my car.

I pulled up behind another car, walked her safely to the side door, and when I returned, I saw that an officer was issuing me a ticket. I understand that safety around schools is very important, and I fully support efforts to protect children. However, I was surprised and disappointed that I was given a ticket rather than a warning. At a time when the police are working to build stronger relationships with residents, families, and local businesses, handing out tickets in front of a school during drop-off feels like the wrong approach. A simple warning would have been more effective in reminding me (and others) of the rules, while also showing that the department values partnership and understanding. Instead, the ticket left me feeling punished rather than supported -- which unfortunately damages trust rather than building it. I respect the Hanover Park Police Department and the important work you do. My hope is that the department considers using more warnings, education, and positive engagement in situations like this, especially around schools, where parents' first priority is getting their children in safely.

Of course she couldn't jump back up because there was barely any room for her to turn around. She was TERRIFIED, howling and scratching trying to get free. It happens every year the same thing. I call 911 and I'm transfered to the Streamwood front desk and who answer the phone - usually a woman - saying the same fraze " they're busy going to other places in Streamwood" and is not true. After 1 hour, 2 hours and hours going by they never come to my area where I live in a non stop horrible noise. The bad guys have fun because they know no police bother them. Every year the same ones do the same thing. Last year I drove to the police station at night after I called them and no police officer came in my neighborhood and all the police officers were there in their room with A/C. They're paid to do their jobs but they do nothing. The police officers in Chicago put their life in danger while here they just sit at the police station and get paid for it. I complained last year to the police chief about the war zone like I had to endure on the 4th of July but the people who cause these bombs like fireworks started a week before 4th of July and I continued another week late nights after, close to my house. Nothing changed, is horrible and how can we trust the police department when they make false statements that they'll come and give tickets to the bad guys. Now is after 11 PM and it'll go on after midnight without police ever driving by and do anything about it.

The Village is divided into 4 police beats and the Police have numerous Beat meetings throughout the year where residents can attend and learn about issues in their Beat area and the village as a whole. You can also ask questions; which they answer. If you have a question or issue but want privacy they hand out their cards and encourage you to contact them and yes they call back. They also teach a Citizen's Police Academy which I highly recommend; I'd take it again. Part of the class was a ride-along with an officer. He answered all my questions and explained everything he was doing. It was very interesting to be on the other side of the windshield. I've had call 911 and they have responded quickly every time.
