Ah, where do I start with this lovely lady! I've been taking Rosemary's yoga class now for about 5 years, and I absolutely adore her teaching style! She incorporates the perfect balance of stillness and calmness in her classes, with the intensity of an advanced vinyasa flow yoga class. I always come out of the class feeling so much more opened and renewed, and ready to tackle the day! I also appreciate how she paces the class, it's not too slow, and not too fast, and I always get a good sweat on (that I actually created myself as opposed to a pre-heated room). She is sure to warm us up in the beginning of class and cool us down as well. And I really love her calming voice... Rosemary is also very hands on which I appreciate. Being a massage therapist myself, I love when she comes over and basically give me a little mini compression massage when I'm in a pose such as pigeon. It really helps me to open up even more fully and deeply. I highly recommend Rosemary's class to all vinyasa yoga lovers out there! read more

Rosemary led a retreat for our team here in San Francisco. She was flexible and accommodating right from the start. She worked around our schedules and delays, and created an incredible environment for us all to check out from our hectic work schedules and look within. The retreat was tailored to our exact needs, working in the sales industry; she customized the event to talk about stresses specific to our jobs, and gave us tools to cope with these stresses we can use every day. In addition, her spirit and warmth allowed us all to feel comfortable opening up and sharing, with people we do not typically have the opportunity to share with. This experience allowed us to forge a deeper connection with and understanding of the people we work with every day. The meditation and yoga following the group session were wonderful and really rounded off the whole experience. We cannot wait to schedule another team building day with Rosemary, and I would recommend her for anyone who is looking for mindfulness training for themselves, their family, or their workplace. read more

I'm feeling conflicted about writing this review, for fear that my beloved yoga teacher's schedule will be booked solid! However, I'm happy to broadcast my gratitude for Rosemary, in hopes that other yogis (or soon-to-be yogis) will be blessed to know her, too. Since beginning my practice a year ago, I've felt shifted toward growth, reflection, peace, and presence...I have also "shifted" into a smaller pants size ;) I debated whether or not I could afford a private yoga lesson once a week and looking back, I realize that the debate sure was a waste of time. I started off with a chronic lower-back injury and a major insecurity around not being able to "get into" certain poses in class. Rosemary provided the support I needed to begin a consistent yoga practice, by customizing sessions for my recovery and by reminding me to be patient with my body. She had the right poses selected, modified the flow between them accordingly, and encouraged my breath to get out of its stagnant, stressed-out, constricted pattern. Somehow, she even picked music that was healing. I gradually started attending classes and happily witnessed my strength and endurance improving. I'm now taking classes 3 or 4 times a week, in addition to the private session with Rosemary (which I hold most sacred, especially during weeks where work is crazy or I'm emotionally spent). I was lucky to travel with Rosemary and a group of her amazing students on her yoga retreat in Mexico this past May. She created a beautiful space, in a beautiful place, to challenge myself even further in my practice. Meeting regularly with Rosemary has been one of the best investments I've ever made. Yelp defines five stars as As good as it gets and frankly I wish there were a sixth star available. As good as it gets implies that there is no higher plane you can reach-- but I've been there in Rosemary's class, so I know it exists! Her style is a perfect balance between exercise and spirit, where you will find it impossible to think about all the things that just an hour before seemed so terribly important. The vinyasa flow is more like a dance, especially if you do it with your eyes closed, and her music choices are perfect. If there is any complaint to balance out this absurdly positive review, it is that she only teaches two classes a week and they aren't at convenient times. 9:15 on Mondays/ Wednesdays. I wish she would make a CD I could use at home at better times for my schedule. Besides that... just the sound of her voice, the warmth of the room, the calm and peace that settles over me when I come to my mat out of the madness of everyday life... glorious. When it comes to yoga instructors, I am as picky as it gets. Thankfully, in San Francisco one can afford to be picky when it comes to yoga. I want to be inspired by my yoga teacher - his or her presence inviting me to be my best self. I need to admire my yoga teacher and see qualities they exemplify that I want to grow and deepen within myself. I also can't stand it when yoga teachers talk too much! It is my pet peeve as I am going to yoga to center, breathe, flow and let go of the monkey mind and stress. Rosemary has a perfect balance of what I look for in a yoga teacher. She has a very powerful, yet gentle and authentic presence. Her style of vinyasa flow is perfectly paced, with clear instruction and just the right amount of yoga wisdom woven in. There are almost no words to describe the experience I have when I attend a class of Rosemary's... likely because she defies an earthly existence. Like others, Where do I start? On a whim, and at the end of my strength from the day to day hustle, on a lark I signed up for Rosemary's Haramara retreat two years ago. Changed my life. Everyone came from different walks of life, but everyone was open, loving, friendly but not invasive, and slowly over the week, magic unfolded. Somehow, the people who need to do flock to her, and to each other. I have been an investment banker, mother of a child who has struggled with many issues, negotiating divorce, and at 40 years of age, Rosemary taught me how to hug for the first time. I know, sounds sappy, but connecting heart to heart, you feel a spirituality that we so often overlook. Rosemary, in her quiet way, elicits just what needs to unfold from every individual, and knows your spirit intuitively. She personally cares, and teaches in a quiet way so that you can experience just a little bit closer to enlightenment. She likes to have fun, too. She is great to share a legendary Haramara cocktail with. She is teacher, friend, mother, benevolent spirit. I'm writing to encourage yogis to give Rosemary a TRY! You won't regret a minute of practice spent with her. Although she's fantastic with respect to the poses and pacing and flow and all that jazz, I particularly love her way with "adjustments" and "assists." I have more than once found myself losing yogic focus when Rosemary begins to walk around the room--I get so hopeful that she's going to choose me as the recipient of her sometimes-gentle sometimes-firm always-right attention. I feel like a puppy dog wagging its tail or panting in anticipation of a welcome petting. That might sound creepy. It doesn't feel creepy. It just feels good. Being in child's pose is the best: when she schmushes me into the floor, even my hips smile! read more
