I've been coming here for years and I would say Dr. Trisha Nguyen is great! She takes her time and doesn't rush you when you take your eye exam. She also makes sure that your prescription is correct as well if it wasn't prescribed correctly the 1st time. I only took off a star because it seems like receptionist doesn't really know what they are doing since they had a hard time look up my insurance (saying that they don't accept it when they do) or understand what my insurance covered (copay and etc. coverage). Parking is easy to find in the lot, but you can easily get parking on the street too. read more

My mom and I came in for our annual eye check up appointment. The office was very accommodating to allow my mom and I to have the same appointment date and time. Dr. Kenneth Cao was very nice and professional. He took the time to explain my mom's and I's eye health/condition to each of us through whatever language accommodations we needed. He took his time to throughly examine our eyes and provided his genuine opinion as an OD for what's best for our eye health. I also got contacts and the whole check up for that was very quick and easy. I felt no discomfort when testing out my new contact prescriptions. Everything was done efficiently with ease. The front receptionist did a decent job with taking care of the paper work, but when it came to the issue of referrals to an ophthalmologist, she did not do well in explaining the process nor guiding us on what the next best steps would be. Which is the only reason why I am giving a 4 star instead of a 5 star review. read more

I will file the complaint with the Insurance company. I took my mom to this Rosemead Eye clinic about 2 months ago. I explained to the lady named Nha that my mom is a Medi-cal Medicare patient. She is also a stroke, diabetes, and cataract patient. Therefore, I need her to see by an ophthalmologist because her exsting ophthalmologist had moved to different state. Nha told me to have my mom see the optometrist first. Then after my mom was seen by the optometrist Kenneth Cao, the same staff told me that they will contact me about the ophthalmologist's referral. Yesterday (about 2 months later), I stopped by the office and I was told by another staff that that Doctor Kenneth Cao's note said my mom doesn't need to see by the ophthalmologist, follow up in one year and to call back tomorrow to speak with Nha. Today, I talked to Nha and she gave me a run around. This time, instead of just having the patient to sign the medical release form she told me to go back to the previous ophthalmologist to transfer the medical records to their office because they have no permission to get my mom medicals record. Don't go to this office, they didn't care for their patients and provide very bad services. My mom can be blind if wait to see by the ophthalmologist in 1 year read more

This place is horrendous. Avoid at all cost. The receptionists are extremely rude and obnoxious to the elderly. I personally have been to this clinic for my prescriptions but after how I saw they treat my father, I will never come back. Even though we have insurance they screwed up and said we are not covered. So we paid cash for the exam. After calling and clearing things up with the insurance company, the clinic got paid by the insurance and the insurance asked us to pick up our refund from the cash payment. The receptionist's tone of voice and demeanor is TOXIC and she NOT equipped to receive clients and should be fired. She refused to give us the refund and completely wasted my fathers time. These thieves receive double pay for shitty service. read more

Rosemead Eye Clinic has been my go to eye doctors since I was a little kid. They prefer appointments so it's better to call in advance to schedule your visit. They have an optometrist doctor on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM and even on Saturday 9:00 AM- 5:00 PM! (How Awesome is that) They are very accommodating and do take walk-ins occasionally, but if you don't want to wait, make an appointment! There has been a few times where I have popped in unannounced for an eye exam and they were able to fit me in. While waiting I would walk next door to the Vk Foods and get something to eat (They have awesome fried tofu with mushroom, soy milk, banh cuon, all types of delicious viet food) If you don't know what type of insurance you have, HMO/PVT/PPO, they would be happy to check for you. They also accept cash patients for regular eye exams, contacts, and eye problems. The staff is very friendly and work super quick to get you in and out of there. Since I'm a returning patient they have all my records on file, I just sign in, and a few minutes later, the doctor calls me in! Dr. Trisha Nguyen is the best doctor is the world! She's very easygoing and patient with me whether I'm being indecisive about glasses or contacts. She's very thorough and explained the whole proess to me and they even taught me how to put on contacts for the first time (I took forever ahah). After you finish the staff walks you next door to Express Optical to choose your frames. They have so many cute options and styles to choose from! Ms. Trisha Nguyen is by far the best one I've seen so far. She is nice and caring when I came to my visit. She throughly explains which exceeded my expectation. I am pleased and will be back. FYI, the front desk ladies don't really understand English that well so be careful when making an appointment or even trying to get a new prescription paperwork done since most of the time they just keep trying to talk over you rather than listen to what you're trying to explain. read more

Called for my parents to make appointment on Wednesday one guy picked up the phone he said he didn't take appointment today. And he asked me my parents insurance information and checked eligibility or not. He told me that he will have someone to call back on Thursday for appointment. No one called on Thursday until afternoon. So I called. One lady picked up my call. I told her I want to make appointment for my parents. She asked me to hold and hang up my phone. I called again. One guy picked up who checked my parents insurance and told him I want to make appointment. He said wait a minute and put on hold my phone again over 5 minutes. They don't want to make appointment for their patients. Will never go back again. Very bad service ever. After you make appointment if you can't make it they will charge you. No sense at all. People may come up emergencies anytime. Never go. read more

Staff and doctor is great. The challenge is the phone line. The phone number listed always sends you straight to voicemail which makes it impossible to reach someone. When I call the additional phone number stated in the voicemail, 626-458-5706, it's a call center for offices that don't even relate to this office. They only are aware of the locations in Monterey Park and Pasadena. It's been difficult trying to schedule a follow up appointment for my contacts. I've left a few voicemails and never heard anything back. read more

I've been going here for several years now for my regular eye exams and get my glasses next door at Express Optical. I recently came back for an exam, and asked about getting contacts as well. It was a lengthy process, but you know you're in good hands and the doctors are all super thorough and kindly answer any questions you have! I was given sample lenses and came back for a followup, and they helped me out with all my concerns before I committed to finalizing everything. Really friendly receptionists, and very accommodating even when I had a walk-in inquiry. Dr. Trisha Nguyen responded to my emails really quickly as well! I highly recommend coming here! read more

I hate the fact that my first review is a negative review, but it had to be done. First, the doctor who examined was great. In fact, excellent. The problem arises with the receptionists. I wanted my prescription and they gave me a hard time. As a patient and BY LAW, I have a right to my own medical record. But the receptionists didn't want to acknowledge this law or were ignorant of it. As it turns out, the reason they didn't want to give me my prescription was because they didn't want me to buy my eyeglasses elsewhere. They wanted me to go to the optometrist next door to get my eyeglasses. The reason? They are family members. They didn't want me to take the prescription to another optometrist or order my eyeglasses online. read more

horrible horrible HORRIBLE HORRIBLE service!!!!! BEWARE!!!!!! They charged me $145 saying my insurance told them to. I paid it just cuz I was so annoyed after waiting for an HOUR AND A HALF. Come to find out after verifying myself with my insurance that I was not supposed to be charged. Had to go through 5 different people to try to get my money back as well as going back and fourth with my insurance. ALWAYS make sure you check with your insurance when they charge you!! I have been coming here for maybe 5 years? Like others, I get antsy having to switch any health related specialties, but luckily, I found a keeper. Why would I want to switch to another clinic when I get all the kind, honest, helpful optometrists (ie Trisha Nguyen OD) here? Dr. Tran was great, she sees children and adults. Staff was friendly and did not have a long wait time at the office. My son is 8 years old and a little hyper active, but she was very kind and patient with him while doing his exam. She was able to do my exam as well with my son in the room so no need to make seperate appointments. I would definitely recommend her to my family and friends. read more
