Nothing was really ever fixed I went to another orthodontist who proceeded to ask me who the hell did what they did to my mouth and asked for names and proceeded to tell me what they did was NOT in practice. Over these 3 years I had mentioned this first encounter with braces to many dentists and even oral surgeons all of which had nothing but negative things to say and some of which even had their own similar experiences with them specifically. They all warn of the orthodontists at bluefish and I do as well NOT THE PLACE FOR BRACES JUST ASK AROUND. They are the bottom of the barrel and extremely disrespectful. My daughter is currently a patient there and has had her braces on now for almost a year. She has been very happy with Dr. Panchura and her staff. Although braces can be pretty uncomfortable at times, my daughter has been very happy with the results. As a parent, what is very cool is that they allow parents and patients to do volunteer work in the community and use the time worked towards the ortho bill. You are allowed to use hours worth 50% of the cost of services. Each hour of volunteer work equals $10 towards your bill. For example, if the visit costs $100 you can use 5 volunteer hours and pay $50 to meet the obligation of $100. My hesitations on five stars is that while they try to be accommodating, they are only in the office a few select days a month. They also have an office in Redmond with limited hours and Bend patients are welcome there as well. Also, only the doctor is able to talk about projected treatment which means that you have to talk to her while you child is at an appointment. I was trying to figure out how many volunteer hours I would need going forward, just an estimate and the staff was unable to give me that information. So, just a couple of small inconveniences.

While I am a busy new mom and cannot commit this time right now, I fell in love with this philanthropic concept. I am so glad I chose to get my braces with Dr. Panchura and my teeth are already so straight after only 4 months (they weren't too crooked to begin with and just shifted after my wisdom teeth came in). I didn't realize until after the visit that she has taken gum tissue off in SEVERAL areas during the teeth cleaning portion of the visit. She even said for me to "relax" and let myself be "pampered" before she started cleaning. WOW! I left my first visit in shock after viewing in the bathroom mirror the missing pieces of my gums and was also given an estimate of $478 for two teeth fillings. Needless to say I couldn't make myself go back. They are also very aggressive at getting you to commit to an appointment. They don't let up! I went to see Dr. Wiley at Pilot Butte Dental to establish care after a friend recommended him. He checked my teeth and told me that the two spots on my teeth were NOT CAVITIES. He would keep an eye on one of them and that the x-rays also showed everything was normal. His office also quoted me around $250 for two fillings (I had to ask since I had been quoted at $478)! Lesson learned. Be weary of Awbrey Dental! Their dentists are shady! Get a second opinion of any tooth filling they recommend. They are in it for the money! And definitely be careful of their dental hygienists. You may end up having bits and pieces of your gums missing too! Find a competent doctor and staff elsewhere! I am just shocked that this place has so many 5 star reviews in Google.
