There are plenty of chairs and tables inside to sit in, but The Depot fills up fast - especially with tourists. If you want to relax before your train ride to Fort Worth or OKC, get there early. HOWEVER. This is an Amtrak station. And Amtrak is notorious (I mean *notorious,* people) for their trains being late. When I dropped my boyfriend off at the train station last time, they were 40 minutes late. Not cool. Especially when their site still said the original arrival time and hadn't been updated. This isn't The Depot's fault, but The Depot and Amtrak are linked, so that's why I'm docking a star. Amtrak is late because they have to share the railways with Santa Fe, but SURELY there's a way to know when (at least within 10 minutes) the train will be there, and surely there's a way to let your passengers know. As a customer, there's not much to be done, as it's not like you have a choice as to where to pick up a train to Fort Worth that will ever be on time.

This is a fantastic restaurant hidden away in the woods off of Highway 9. For those of us who live…read morein NW OKC it's about a 45 minute drive but it's worth the effort. Make sure to check the OU sports schedule before reserving your spot. OU football, basketball, softball and baseball games will slow your trip to a crawl because of traffic. It's also a bed and breakfast so you can always plan a staycation and avoid the traffic altogether. We've eaten there twice in the last 30 days and I'll include pictures and dishes from both trips. I chose it for the destination of my birthday and none of the 8 guests complained about the drive but all raved about the food. Instead of discussing each and every dish in detail like I normally do (this review would take many pages) I can say without reservation that you simply cannot go wrong with any choice. The soups are silky smooth and packed with flavor. I had the mushroom soup as a special on a previous trip and the taste was from the ground fresh. It must have been made with fresh mushrooms and herbs. The soup on this particular night was a creamy tomato bisque that was velvety smooth and amazing. I've had the House Salad and Caesar Salad. Both are fantastic. The former is a wonderful combination of greens with a light champagne vinaigrette that pairs perfectly. A "simple" Caesar salad is difficult to make but they've got it right. On this occasion I had the filet mignon; juicy, tender and the perfect temperature. I've also had the chicken and pork dishes which were wonderful. My husband has had the salmon and lamb, so I've tasted them and found them to be very good. The rack of lamb has a reduction sauce that would make drywall palatable. On this night I had the chocolate tort while a few others chose the crème brûlée and bread pudding. Pictures are unable to convey the the chef's mastery. I can't find the receipt and can't remember our server's name, shame on me. She handled our table of nine as easily as if it were a table of two. Her skill made a difficult job look easy. Don't worry about the distance. Highway 9 is a well-paved, four-lane highway. The restaurant is only about four miles east of I-35 and is an easy drive. My only suggestion is to check the OU sports schedule. I can also recommend spending the night and enjoying a room.

Don't let the name fool you. This is a wonderful place to stay…read more - Great staff, - friendly service - nice rooms - great courtyard with fire pit - nice restaurant - amazing breakfast!! We had stayed here in the past and decided to give it another go. Glad we did. We were in town to see our child graduate from OU. The staff is very friendly and accommodating willing to help in anyway, making sure your stay is pleasant. Though we didn't eat at the restaurant, we did have drinks and sat out in the courtyard. What we love best is the breakfast the next morning. Variety of different breakfast items along with fresh fruit. The kitchen is very clean. And the staff is very nice! We look forward to coming here again!!! hopefully during football season. Though the room rate will be a little more, it's still well worth it. To the staff: Thanks again for a great stay!!

There is an area with a desk, microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator. The coffee maker didn't work. That's ok, because there were coffee machines throughout the facility and Starbucks. The highlight for me was the food. The buffet was pretty good. This week I saw pizza, spaghetti, prime ribs, BBQ ribs, chicken, very good breakfast options, burgers, steak and great sides. There is a bar area with amazing bartenders and social activities during the week. The facility has pool tables, a gym, massage room and great fitness area. I came when it was a little cool, but I did get a peek at the pool. The lobby area had lots of chairs. The training rooms were nice. There were some technical issues with some of the rooms. That was the only thing that I would recommend improving. I would definitely love to come back. The staff were so attentive and very helpful. I was really impressed.

Hello & Welcome to a brand new hotel!…read more They've got a few kinks to work out - like no towels in our room and a dishwasher that doesn't open fully due to not enough space between it and the refrigerator. That is what I notice most - new build errors that seem to be the fault of poor contractor/builder work. In my opinion, the contractor that was responsible for this project was either the low cost/low quality leader or they got away with low quality work. The owner of this franchise property should receive relief from the contractor for penalties. I've noted the following in my room/visit: 1. Sloppy work on the kitchen bar at the end of the bar in the short Sheetrock wall (sloppy mud work and paint). 2. Sloppy work of the transition between the bathroom floor and the shower - sloppy grout transition. 3. Bathroom door chipped at bottom corner. 4. Lack of space between dishwasher and refrigerator for the dishwasher door to open fully. 5. The drawers next to the bathroom are not aligned and do not properly slide in/out. They are not to standard for a brand new, freshly installed furnishing. There are some other things I noticed. Don't misunderstand - it's a clean and new property. It is nicely done. It's just too many small errors that I note that would aggravate and irritate me If I owned the property and paid for this build. Great breakfast and nice pool and hot tub and outdoor fire pit. The staff were friendly. We really enjoyed our stay! Room 316 on the first weekend of August 2024!

I stayed for 7 days and they cleaned our room twice. If you need towels you will need to go to the front desk. The worst part was I was quoted a price and was charged $150 more with no explanation. I called and emailed the management staff with no luck. I recommend the Embassy suites directly across the street.
