I really think it is one of the most beautiful and…read morethoughtfully designed Montessori schools in the greater Sacramento area, definitely in Roseville, and honestly for me one of the best in Northern California. When I say beautiful, I mean the materials the children get to interact with every day are next level. Everything feels so intentional, carefully chosen and really aligned with the Montessori method. Our daughter has attended Rocklin Ranch Montessori from 16 months old through age four, with some pauses along the way while I stayed home with her and later had two more girls. But we have always come back to Rocklin Ranch, and Aman and the teachers who have had our girls have been excellent. One of the best parts of the school is the communication. They send daily updates, especially for children in the 16 month to 3 year age range, and weekly photos. Their newsletter is wonderful and keeps parents updated and it is so special to regularly see photos of your child with their friends throughout the week. They also have a great skills chart where they track what your child is learning and working on. The outdoor play area and playground are gorgeous. There is a beautiful little garden and outdoor space where the children get to eat lunch and the whole environment feels sweet, calm and thoughtfully cared for. I also really appreciate that the children have the opportunity to nap for up to 2.5 hours, which is such a gift for young kids. They also have an option for the girls to play soccer during the day, which has been really great for our family and has simplified the need to put them in an extra soccer program after school or on weekends. Their pick up and drop off hours are also extremely flexible which has been so helpful for us. We currently have two daughters enrolled in Montessori and one of the sweetest parts is that they get to see each other during the day. That has honestly changed childcare for us, just knowing that they are both there together and near each other, instead of totally separate all day. Most importantly, Rocklin Ranch actually adheres to the Montessori method in a peaceful, organized and intentional way. For our family it has been so worth it.

Rocklin Ranch accepted our son, but had us ramp into a full day care very slowly. Like an hour a day at first. I've never had this experience--neither of my 2 boys ever had such a slow transition period across 3 other day care programs between them. This was frustrating as I my husband and I work full time and paid for full time care but the director, Aman, kept saying he wasn't ready. He was crying too much and it was disrupting other kids. Once he was adjusted things seemed to be going fine, with some comments about rowdy behavior or getting up during circle time from his teachers. We said we'd work on it and both sides acknowledged is was developmentally normal but something to work on at school. His teachers seemed fine working with him on this, but the director, Aman, constantly talked about how disruptive he was. My son was put on probabtion by the director despite a good parent teacher conference. In fact, his teachers were incredibly good natured about my son's "disruptive" behavior and we even shared a laugh over one of the more ridiculous things he did. We would check in all the time and his teachers reiterated to us that he was rambunctious but normal, one teacher said he was just like her nephew and she knew how to work with a kid with his temperament. But then, when this teacher was out of town ... and my son acted up a little cause his favorite teacher wasn't there ... the director, Aman, called and told us he was being kicked out and we had something like 2 weeks to find other care. Not only was this really disruptive for everyone, it was just sad. My perfectly normal toddler was acting like a toddler and was rejected from a school for doing so. It was definitely for the best--he went to another school and thrived and we all made good friends there. But I will never forget how bad this experience was with Rocklin Ranch and I will let anyone I know considering that school not to go there.

A friends son who goes there told me just to call and visit that the staff is very accommodating and addressed all my concerns. They also let him visit a couple times before enrollment (Mrs. King is assigned teacher is amazing) and all the parents seem so friendly and good, wholesome families. I also wasn't sure if my son was going to take to it. He loved it from day one! The teachers all have smiling faces. I love that they work more on academics than some of the other schools seemed like their were more into creativity or independence. Even though they do all that too. Only after a week, I see such a difference in my 3 year old. He actually tells me each day what he learns. The staff is kind if they have accident and I feel safe having my son in their care and he is progressing as a student as well. I wish I knew the cute songs he is singing about school.

Large indoor playground and basketball hoop are great for rainy, or scorching hot days. Flexible schedule and hours, make it easy for parents. Safe environment, with an emphasis on academics that is appropriate for preschool and kindergarten. Love this school, and as a former teacher, it was important finding a balance of play time, and education. Teachers run "centers" led by instructors or aides to teach reading and math skills. GBSH prepares students for elementary school.

I was not clearly informed about what items I needed to provide for my children, the billing policy, or the exact amount I would owe. I asked multiple times for written confirmation of my monthly payment amount, but I never received anything by email. I was only given verbal estimates, which created confusion and uncertainty. One of my biggest concerns happened when my daughter was bitten by another child in her classroom. I understand that incidents can happen in childcare settings, and I do not blame the facility simply because a child bit another child. However, what made me extremely uncomfortable was the handling of the situation. The teacher stated in front of the director that she had already sent me an incident report, which was not true. I also never received a phone call regarding the injury. When I saw my daughter's injury, it was more severe than I had expected. The lack of communication and the fact that I felt I was given inaccurate information damaged my trust. After speaking with the director, we agreed to move my daughter to another classroom. Unfortunately, when my daughter returned after being absent for several days, nobody appeared to have prepared for her transition. Her belongings had not been moved, and no one was available to guide me to her new classroom. After waiting for quite some time, another staff member eventually assisted me, though she did not seem pleased to do so. Once I entered the classroom, it was clear the teacher seemed surprised and unprepared for my daughter's arrival. As a parent, that was concerning because transitioning a child into a new environment should feel organized and welcoming. I was also later emailed that I would be charged a late fee despite still not having clear information regarding the exact amount I owed or the due dates. In the end, my daughter was paid for the month but only attended a handful of times because I no longer felt comfortable with the overall environment. The disorganization, communication issues, and concerns regarding cleanliness made me feel that this was not the right place for my children.
