We cannot say enough wonderful things about Holy Cross Lutheran Academy! The small, close-knit atmosphere makes it feel like home. The administration has done a wonderful job fostering a culture where every child is seen and valued. Holy Cross Lutheran Academy has been a home for us for the past few years. Both of my kids loved their time here. The teachers and staff are so loving and kind. They make a point to know every single child's name. They use play-based learning that the kids love, but also helps them get ready for Kindergarten. Absolutely love this school!! My daughter started here in Pre-K and is now in Kinder. We are so sad that they don't extend further than Kinder because all of the teachers and staff are the absolute best. They love and care for each child as if their own. They have a great mix of both academics, play, and Jesus time. We LOVE it here at Holy Cross. My daughter is usually shy and isn't very outgoing, but she looks forward to coming to school here. The environment is so cheery and each and every person here is so wonderful. The very first day we toured, we instantly felt welcomed. One of the parents noticed we were on tour and she couldn't stop raving about how amazing this place is. We completely agree. I also love that I can call the office and someone will always pick up. They are really on top of everything. I had forgotten my daughter's lunch one time so I let them know I'll be back to drop it off. As soon as I returned, the staff was ready for me and took the lunch back to her classroom. Everyone greets us by name and keeps tabs of whatever information they need, such as allergies or medications. 5 stars all around. read more

I cannot express how much we have loved this school. The Staff is warm, nurturing and patient not only to the children but to the parents as well! Trusting your little ones to anyone can be daunting, but they are there with you ever step of the way! Choosing Holy Cross as our daughters first experience with school was the best thing we could have done. Our daughter adored her teacher, Miss DeAnna ( 3's class ) Her growth in just the year and a half that she has spent at this school has been incredible. Miss DeAnna is kind and nurturing, so much fun to be around, and holds high expectations that she helps the children to meet. A well rounded experience was very important to us , and our daughter thrived here with access to PE time, Zoo Phonics, singing and learning about Jesus during chapel, and the amazing outdoor play area. This is definitely a hidden gem tucked away in a small town where family values still exist. Where teachers still care and hold children accountable. Where respect for others is instilled. Where forgiveness and kindness seep out of every crack and crevice of the building. And those who answer the calling to work there are angels on earth. A simple review on yelp can't explain enough how much we loved and miss this school. Holy Cross Lutheran Kindergarten and Preschool was a Godsend for my family and me. As an Air Force family we found ourselves in Sacramento for three months training at Beale. With two sons ages two and three, we were in need of full time childcare and Ms. Chris and her staff welcomed us with open arms. I traveled to Rocklin, CA before our move and visited the school over a two day period. I visited both announced and unannounced to gauge the difference in the way I was received. During both visits I was very impressed at the cleanliness, professionalism, and kindness exuded by all. Our children are the most important people in our lives and we want the best for them. To drag them out of their school and move them halfway across the country and trust their care to total strangers is stressful to say the least. Every parent knows that gut feeling or warm fuzzy you get when you know it's right. Just as we know when something just isn't quite right. I can assure you that this place is exactly what you've been looking for. The true test came a few weeks into our stay when both boys would excitedly bounce into school and not look back. During pickup in the afternoons, on most days , it was difficult to get them to want to leave. The teachers, Ms Darla, Ms. Pat, and Ms Octavia as well as the others made a profound impact on our children's lives by caring and loving them, as they were their own. And the director, Ms. Chris, is second to none. She is the glue that holds this school together. Our youngest son has a peanut allergy and was treated no differently than any of the other kids. The staff was already comfortable and trained on how to use an EpiPen should the need arise. They went above and beyond to make us and our children feel safe and welcomed. More preschools and kindergartens should follow the examples lived every day by this group of wonderful people. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this school is. My daughter has been in pre-k this school year. From day one, she has been hooked! The school is clean and well cared for. The staff is absolutely amazing! Each staff member and teacher is caring and patient, yet firm. As a working mother, this is the best place I could hope for to put my child for the day. I know my child is happy and thriving. Another great thing is that the class sizes are very small, so each child gets a lot of attention. We have our twins enrolled at Holy Cross and are SO happy with the place. Ms. Chris, the principal is fantastic - she knows what she is doing! She knows the kids names and their parents, and is clearly dedicated to helping these kids mature and grow and turn into responsible successful people. The class sizes are small, the teachers are kind and caring and are obviously happy to be teaching, and happy to be at this school. You can tell that the staff is well taken care of. The facility is nice, with a good sized playground, and clean, well kept rooms, and it's safe (with a keypad for the door, etc.). The rooms are large enough for the classes and equipped with all that you would expect. And the price is good, too! We compared several different preschools in the area and this was BY FAR our favorite, especially considering the price. It's also a nice bonus to have the religious aspect included in the instruction, and even just to have a religious bent to the whole environment is very valuable. The place feels like a family. Seems like all the other parents who bring their kids here are quality people, too, who also care deeply about investing in their kids. So that makes for a great overall environment. Perhaps my favorite thing about the school is that they have been offering Love and Logic classes once a month at night (with childcare of course), where the parents can learn strategic methods for dealing with specific problems at home and learn how to provide clear, enforceable boundaries that actually help children to mature and grow and develop. I am a mom of 7 and have been sending my kids here since 2011. Ms. Chris, the director, is a loving, joyful, highly-competent and gifted woman. Her best endorsement ever was my 4-year-old daughter frequently telling me, "Ms. Chris loves me!" She knew it, felt it and she loved it there. My son is happy to go to school each day to pre-K.
