a vase of flowers on a table
    Lori R.

I reviewed earlier in the year but realized it was a bit hard to follow. I went in for a birthday bouquet for my grandmother. I've been here before and never had an issue. I usually tell the person how much I want to spent, a color theme, etc. I asked to spent about $50 and when I got my flowers they weren't in a vase but wrapped in plastic. I was told that I would have to pay extra to have them in a vase. I ended up having to go back into the store twice to correct things but I was in a time crunch by that point. I left with the flowers but on the way home really felt like they weren't very attractive so I called the store. I spoke with the owner who said she had no idea who I was. But in any event, she was very rude, condescending, and really just didn't want to accept any type of feedback or find resolution. Later in the convo she said that when I left the store I was "very happy" which was interesting because a few minutes earlier she said she never met me and didn't know who I was. She told me I could return the flowers but unfortunately, we had a party planned for my grandma and I was out of time. I asked if I could return them the next day. She said no, that I could return them by the end of the day but she told me not to leave them in a hot car if I was going to return them. I asked why it mattered, it's not like they would resell my flowers. She said they most certainly would reuse them. She also told me that it was my fault they had to charge me extra for the vase because I ordered a "bouquet" and a "bouquet" doesn't come with a vase... which is very weird because if you Google bouquet, almost everything is in a vase. I feel like if your specialty is flowers, you should be asking the customers about basic options like a vase, etc. I've purchased a lot of flowers in my time and never had to actively think about what wording to use ‍ So now we're down to reusing my flowers for someone else and semantics. I think that's when I realized that I wasn't going to have a relational discussion about the experience. The picture of the flower .. dare, I say.. "bouquet" is below and I think it speaks for itself. There are plenty of florists around and I can't justify the mean demeanor of the owner. Support a business who cares about their customers!

I placed an order over the phone for a centerpiece with little to no clear image in my head of what I actually wanted outside of a few color choices. The woman who took my order was kind, patient, and asked all the right questions. When it came time to pick up my order, it was outside of their store hours and they went above and beyond to ensure I got my arrangement and when I saw it I was STUNNED. The arrangement was gorgeous - more beautiful than I could have ever expected! Every single person at our party commented on how beautiful the arrangement was and I couldn't have been happier! 10 out of 10 would highly recommend!

An increase in price with the same products and quality is acceptable but that is not the case. It is not a Farmers Market anymore. And the items are rotting if slightly lower in price, or are frozen such as Korean Pear that looked decent but was horrible and tasteless and not juicy.

To be fair, the prices are great. I purchased a container of organic strawberries for $2, regular blueberries 2 containers for $3, Fuji apples $1/lb. However, ShopRite sometimes have these prices too when they have their sales.... Although their fruit selection was varied and plentiful, the vegetable selection is very limited. There were only some basic vegetables. I ended up only getting fruit. Overall the produce didn't look very fresh, definitely not "off the farm fresh". In fact, some of the produce didn't just look past their prime, but downright rotting. I was going to purchase some plum tomatoes but couldn't find any that looked good. Most had a black rotting ring on top. To my surprise, there were some bok choy but there were so many "holes" on the leaves that I decided not to get them. I wished this was better. I would love to have a fresh farmer's market here but this just didn't do it for me.

Don't miss this short window of strawberry picking at Battleview Orchards!…read moreIf you aren't interested in going on the actual farm, you can enjoy their amazing country store and bakery and purchase the freshest, most beautiful and delicious strawberries. I also grabbed a few strawberry treats as well while I was there. All year round, Battleview has different picking seasons, so check their website for more info to see what's running. They consistently have amazingly fresh produce and if you love corn, you can't beat it. Also for sale in the country store are plenty of other fresh fruits and veggies, sauces and dressings, dips, and lots of candy too! Apple picking time is also very popular! Their pricing is also very fair for what you're getting. It's always nice to support local farms. They had a tough year already with the devastating crop damage from the freeze this past April.

It was $4.49 per pound. $5 entry fee that is applied towards whatever you pick. The staff are really friendly and laughed as I tried to guess everyone's weight for the berries they picked. I'm going to make it an annual tradition. There are ample parking spots for Friday around 11AM. The little store up the road was also filled so many jams, spreads, and strawberry treats.
