This restaurant is located on the main strip downtown Cuero. It is located inside an old building of which I was told it was an old furniture store followed by a grocery store years before. The vast ceiling is an antique tin relief from the 30's or 40's, maybe earlier. There are about 20 tables that are Four Tops. This must be one of the more popular spots to eat in town since most tables were full by noon. As soon as you are seated they bring you a complementary basket of chips and smoky red salsa. The service was pretty good although we never got our chips or salsa refilled. You definitely got your money's worth as far as the food goes. They make their own hot tortillas. The only thing that we found to be lacking in quality was in the use of what appears to be cheese whiz or velveeta on my wife's order, otherwise it was a great spot for lunch for under $20 for 2. read more

Deliciously yummy family-owned Mexican food! Great location in the center of downtown. Mouth-watering breakfast tacos and lunch dishes like scrumptious fagitas, chalupas, and enchiladas. Queso, salsa, and chips are the test of any Mexican restaurant, and these are on point. I have ordered dozens of their corn tortillas to go, because they are that good, and I'm usually just a flour tortilla fan. We usually come here for breakfast. I got two breakfast tacos which ended up being a lot larger than I thought they would be. I got one egg and bacon and one egg and potato with cheese, but in hindsight I would have been much happier with one egg, potato and cheese with a side of bacon. The potatoes could have been cooked longer and been more crispy, and I didn't realize I could have asked for a corn tortilla which I think would have really made the breakfast tacos top notch. Something for me to remember whenever I am visiting Cuero again. Their chips are good, but I am a fan of thin tortilla chips and they serve thick ones here. Heading home from coastal fishing and found out about Rosie's through Yelp. Rosie's did NOT disappoint! Place was packed at 1 pm! We did get a table right away (1 of the last 2) Service was prompt, chips, salsa, and drinks right away. Waitress came back several times to check on us the even though it was busy. Beer came with a nice frosty mug on the side which is always a big ++! Food- Salsa was great, it did pack a punch. Chips were thick and fresh. Portions were huge! Ordered the appetizer Nachos and got the beef fajita for a little extra $. Well worth it! It says the serving size is 12 nachos, however, half way thru the order my husband and I were like "this is way more than 12, we have eaten 12 each!" Got the Guacamole on the side. ( hubby doesn't eat it) and it was nice and creamy. I recommend getting jalapeños on the side because the cheese is very rich and it gives a little balance. We also shared the 1 pound beef fajitas. Best Tex Mex food in town with some other choices on the menu as well. The service is good, staff very courteous, food comes out quickly and correctly, and the enchiladas are really good. I don't know if they make their own salsa but it is so much better than any other I've had in town (and I think by now I've had them all). The restaurant is attractive, all things considered, alway very clean and we always have a good experience. My only complaint would be that they close at 2pm and there are many nights I have longed for their enchiladas and puffy tacos for dinner. I think they have recently opened on Friday nights but haven't been yet for anything but lunch. read more
